I'm sorry to post such a negative review but this was easily the worst haircut I have ever received. I understand that their stylists are under time limits but my stylist didn't even provide all the services paid for. There was very little discussion as to what was requested and when I arrived home, I had to cut my hair to fix all of the inconsistencies. Certainly will not return and would not recommend, even for a quick, cheap haircut. read more

This Supercuts location was extremely disappointing. I scheduled the final appointment of the day through their website (4:30pm), only to be told upon arrival that they couldn't cut my hair because there were no hairdressers available--just one barber. I was also informed that they only cut women's hair until 3pm and that I would need to return on a weekend. These limitations weren't listed online, and clearer communication on the website would help customers avoid scheduling appointments they can't actually be seen for. read more

I came in on Thursday morning when they opened. Frank greeted me at the door and I felt instantly welcomed. He listened and asked questions to get a clear idea. I was in and out and got a great haircut. Frank is very professional-keeping up with the phone, incoming customers and of course my own haircut. I walked away very pleased. I'm always going from barber to barber trying to find the perfect cut. I don't think it exists lol, but Frank elevated the bar. read more

They make the process very quick and easy to get in and out with exactly what you need to look good and be on your way. The staff here is very cool and works hard to get everything right. Worst run place for haircuts I've ever seen. Stylists are generally mediocre at best, they always seem short staffed, the service is inconsistent and even the quality of a basic haircut is marginal. Shame on me, but I did go multiple times and got two different awful haircuts. The first time, they fixed it and trimmed it up and made it passable. The second time, the stylist was far more interested I. The conversation he was having with a friend than doing his job. I literally went to Sportclips right after and got it fixed there. The stylist there said I got "60% of a cut" but she said she didn't want to bad mouth another stylist too much.I've never gone back and never will. Supercuts on Sam Ritt is trash. read more

I have thick and longer hair for a male and they get me cleaned up really nicely. Pretty sure the prices have gone up recently- it's $24 for a standard haircut. I've been to the pricey Charleston salons and first came to this Supercuts location after being very disappointed in the services I received at those places. Quiarre is my #1 stylist, although all the girls who work there are awesome. I get my color and highlights done at a professional level without the ridiculous high-end salon price. I literally get compliments on my hair every single day and people always assume I've gotten it done at a downtown salon. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. I wear my hair quite long, and have most of my life. Still, I need to have it trimmed a couple times a year to get rid of split ends and keep it neat. I hate spending a bunch of money for that. It's not like I am looking for anything complicated. I had to get it trimmed today, so I looked up Supercuts on the internet. . They have an online appointment system, so I made my appointment and toddled on down there at the appointed time. Now, I did wind up with a 45 minute wait time, despite having an appointment. So, I wasn't thrilled about that. Regardless, I was there and decided to stay and wait it out. Overall, I am happy with the service I received. The woman who cut my hair did exactly what I wanted. It was not expensive (roughly $17, plus tip). Overall, I would recommend this establishment. I wouldn't go there for any complicated styling, but for my needs I was pleased. read more

I had a horrible experience at the 1812 Sam Rittenburg location of Supercuts in West Ashley. I had a male stylist who I believe was named Frank. My daughter has curly hair. I straightened it so she could get a hair trim that would be even. The stylist made me sit away so I couldn't see what was happening. He proceeded to wet HALF of my daughters hair and cut half of it wet and the other half dry. He took off several more inches than I requested (I requested 3 inch trim and he took closer to 7 inches). She had been growing her hair out for 6 years and it was all gone. Additionally, he refused to let my Autistic daughter have her tablet as she has sensory issues and needs it for hair time. I am appalled by the unprofessionalism I experienced. The hair stylist gave my daughter the most uneven haircut I can imagine. It is truly appalling. I have attached pictures in my google review. Additionally, it was unnecessarily mean to deny a child with sensory issues her tablet to get through the experience. I am shocked that a company can stay in business with hair stylists like this. We paid $25 and now will have to go somewhere else so they can cut off another 3-4 inches to even out the mess. I am so sad and regretful about my decision to trust this place and wish I had avoided it altogether. I plan to file a complaint with Better business bureau. read more

I can't believe what a terrific salon this is! My daughter steered me here. The last two times I went to "high rent" salons and paid almost $100. I was fed up. So today I made an appointment. Frank was my stylist -- and was he a joy to work with! He was infinitely patient (I changed my mind mid-way through the cut, and wanted it shorter), and he cheerfully did as I asked. He was happy, kind, and made me laugh. AND I love my new haircut! I will be back. No question about that. read more

I just moved back to Charleston from New Orleans. In New Orleans, I went to a more high end salon and paid lots of money to get my mop trimmed. I was in dire need of a haircut, and Supercuts was on my way home from West Ashley. I decided to bite the bullet and go to Supercuts. I thought even if I come out looking like a troll at least it'll be cheap. I was pleasantly surprised. Miss Asia did an amazing job. The price was more than reasonable. I gave Miss Asia a big tip. Went in with no idea what to expect because with the chain places you usually get stylists who are working on improving their skills while preparing to move up to their own salon or a more exclusive salon. However, I was very pleased that the cut was exactly what I asked for, and the stylist (Chris) took the time to make sure that each section of my hair was cut and sculpted the way that I wanted it to be. Very professional and clearly you could see that he cared about his work and the end result. I'm sure that I'll be back in another month when my hair is longer, and hopefully can get the same results with that visit. read more

Silly me, thinking I could go here for an easy trim on my long hair for a bargain. I got a lopsided, blunt cut in about 15 minutes and paid nearly $40 for it. After complaining on their website, I was told I would be contacted by the District Leader to handle it...never heard from anyone. Their "satisfaction guarantee" allows you to go back in and have it fixed, but never will I go back. I went to a legit salon (Piccolo just down the street), paid only slightly more, and got my hair fixed. Although now it's about 3" shorter than it needs to be, thanks to Supercuts' stellar skills... Edit: I just got a call from the DL, she said she'd tried to call me several times (call log says I missed one call from her over a week ago, no message was left), and that she could only refund the $13.95 for the haircut. I told her I paid $33.95 for the cut because my hair was so long, which is what my "stylist" told me. "Due to the length of your hair, it'll be $33.95," nothing about the fact that this is for shampoo and blowdry, something I would've turned down if she'd said it this way. So, zero stars for the haircut, zero for customer service, and zero for Supercuts. Do yourself a favor and run in the other direction. read more

Fantastic experience. I came in with a picture of what I wanted which was VERY short compared to what I normally get. I explained this and my barber started the cut longer and we worked down to see what I was comfortable with. A fantastic haircut and what really impressed me was when I asked for hair product he showed me quite a few, even the cheapest. Would recommend this location to anybody that needs a cut. read more

I went in today, walk in, and Chris was superb in greeting me, taking time to finish with his customer, all attention given to complete transaction with her. He ( Chris) showed great customer service, "listened" to what I was requesting, took his time getting it just right. He even suggested trim on eyebrows, and gave great attention to my requests. He is very polite, courteous, and shows a genuine care about his work. This is the third Time I have been to this location and I will continue to go back for future cuts! great job!!
