On the day of my appointment, while I was already on my way to the salon, I received a call from the receptionist informing me that my appointment was being canceled last minute. Instead of offering a solution or urgency in rebooking, I was told it would be another two weeks before I could be scheduled for the same service. The only compromise offered was to split the services -- haircut one week, color the next -- which was not ideal, nor what I had booked or planned for. It was implied that the cancellation was due to my stylist calling out, and while no direct explanation was given, it happened to be the day after what I believe was their birthday -- which raises questions about the level of professionalism and planning. If something unavoidable came up, I would have appreciated an honest explanation and a sincere effort to accommodate me promptly--especially since I had already made arrangements and was en route. At the time I was working 70 hours a week and I specifically took time out of my workday to go do this seeing as I had no free time. To make matters worse, I later received an automated confirmation for an appointment I never scheduled or approved, which only added to the confusion. The stylists here are also the owners, Patrick and Kevin, which makes the lack of communication and client care even more frustrating. As business owners, I expected better accountability, professionalism, and respect for clients' time. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I won't be returning.

After trying her extensions for a few months, she told me to take a break with a lash lift, to make sure my lashes would not get damaged. Any other business would just keep taking the client/money. I spent the entire visit just having a genuine conversation with a wonderful person - laughing and sharing life experiences. I'm extremely grateful I went to The Master's Touch Salon for this part of my treatment journey. They were caring, kind, and compassionate and I highly recommend Elle and this salon. What's more, they didn't even charge me for the visit. I know this isn't a typical salon review as I seemingly had my hair "undone" but any salon and stylist that shows this degree of care and compassion is certainly the kind of place I'd go to again and again.

I told her to do short layers in the back just like the picture I showed her, to buzz an inch above his ear and to keep the top and front medium length and layer it. the young girl with red hair absolutely destroyed his hair, she buzzed the back all the way to the crown of his head and another stylist had to step in to fix it as best as she could with what little hair was left but we ended up having to keep the top of his hair much longer than desired just to cover the mess this girl made. The only reason I'm not rating lower for this experience is because not only did the other stylist step in and fix the mess as best she could but also didn't make us pay. I've otherwise had such great experiences here but that young woman needs much more training before they put her back out on the floor again.

Hair Tease Studio (and Roberta specifically) saved my hair!…read more I'm new to Jacksonville from Los Angeles, and any woman knows that finding a person you trust to do your hair is challenging. Once you find someone good, you tend to stay for life. Thanks to Hair Tease putting a Groupon offer up in the area, I found Roberta. I looked up Google, FB, Groupon and Yelp reviews (all great reviews) and decided to try them out. Prices were reasonable, location close enough to me, with easy parking. And the great reviews were spot on, especially the previous yelp one about the rescue of the blonde! Oh my - Roberta - The woman can do hair! I needed someone to rescue my blonde highlights from the harsh beach salt air and harsh mineral Jax water. Roberta takes time to evaluate and set up a treatment plan for your hair. And it's worth it! (See my pic) It was one of my first ventures outside the house as the pandemic became more manageable in Jax. This quaint, woman-owned salon is a gem hidden inside a tucked away strip mall off Beach. It's sweetly decorated with antique mirrors and frames and reposed furniture (thanks again to Roberta's great eye for decor and talent for furniture painting). There are 4-5 stylists not all in on the same days/hours, and each works independently. They have coffee and water and southern hospitality. Roberta also sells great salon hair products at low to no mark up. She also adapted her schedule to accommodate my schedule between her fishing trips. She's funny as hell with her wisdom, sayings, and local tips. I even found a wonderful dentist and landscape / garden supply thanks to her recommendations. I've been to her regularly over the last year and she is consistent, pampers your hair, shares her wisdom of biscuits, local Jax, plants and landscaping (her original career) with kindness and generosity. I've even discovered she cares for her long term elderly clients with dignity- honoring their restricted budget with reasonable prices and helping them feel beautifully quaffed. So sweet. Needless to say, I highly recommend Hair Tease Studio!
