I'm an older guy slowly losing my once thick and curly hair that since our adolescence, had been the envy of my sister and her straight locks. I've been using SuperCuts in New City for the last 5 years or so and today I had the pleasure of meeting Nancy. Because my decision to get my hair cut is typically impulsive based on what I see in the mirror while brushing my teeth, I call Supercuts based on what I see rather than having allegiance to a particular stylist. I am able to do this because in truth, I have been happy with how my hair has looked regardless of the stylist I've seen. And today, Nancy was no exception. The proof that Nancy did a good job was that my wife said "nice haircut" when I got home. Not only was Nancy skilled with her scissors, she was friendly and warm but not intrusive, overall a good communicator. She was courteous and respectful and the feeling I walked away with was that Nancy was a genuinely nice woman. In a somewhat different vein, I was truly surprised to read some of the negative reviews and specifically the complaints about rudeness and poor customer service. With over five years of experience with various stylists in the New City Supercuts store, I have not once had a bad experience, have never had a rude word directed at me or heard rudeness towards other customers. The stylists I have met over the years have been nothing but professional. At the risk of sounding like a lecturer, one might consider that a negative experience with one individual shouldn't be cause to judge all the others whose professionalism could not be better. read more

Went in for a cut and was unimpressed. My main turn off about SuperCuts is the hairdresser (Krystal). She was rude and pushy, but she tries to be cute about it. Warning: You won't be getting a bargain nor classy service at SuperCuts New City. read more

Wow. Where do I begin. Stylist was rude and nasty from the get go so I should have left . Stupid me I let him give me a so - called trim and he lopped off all of my long hair to the top of my shoulders that I spent the last year growing out. Did not know how to blend layers so I had to have a recut done days later. Turns out he's the manager too. His name is Leon so do NOT trust him to cut your long locks. read more

Under new ownership, apparently by an absentee owner who has jacked up prices (at least for me) by 30 percent and cut staff. Overpriced and long waits even if you check in online. Inconvenient. Only one person working on Sundays, which is a popular time. They tell people who walk in to go to their Supercuts in Stony point or Park Ridge NJ instead. So much for convenience. The stylists are decent. But still, no real reason to go here instead of one of the other, comparably priced, better salons in the area. read more

I will never go to this Super Cuts the manager is totally unprofessional !!! I wanted a haircut and she told me 30 minutes refused to write my name and I came back from lunch and there was person waiting to come back and the Manager did not honor my spot and the customer sat in chair and the manager refused to take me !!!! I absolutely LOVE SUPERCUTS in New City, NY!!!! Where to begin with all my praise? First of all, the manager, Candace, was wonderful. She is friendly, efficient, and a capable stylist, too. While waiting for my dye to set, I watched Candace style a young woman, a little boy, and an elderly man. With each client she was solicitous and careful to cut their hair to their specifications. All the while, she was also stopping to answer the phone and greet people who came in through the door. She is a TRUE manager the the best sense of the word, because she is competent as well as congenial, a perfect combination. Now for the stylist who worked with me. My stylist was MIA and I couldn't be more pleased with her. Another delightful human being - friendly, talented, and always agreeable to my requests!!!! I have a problem hair situation, and MIA addressed my concerns perfectly. Her suggestion for hair color pleased me very much and the final cut was better than I could have imagined. Mia listened to my concerns and addressed them. As a person who has thin and graying hair, the feeling I had leaving Supercuts New City was complete satisfaction with the experience. MIA did a fantastic job and I am so grateful. I am happy to have this salon available to me. I will return. read more

Felt like getting fresh at Supercut before heading to Burger King for the night. Back the vehicle right into a pole out front. Blew in the entire back window. Glass got everywhere in the jeep wrangler. Still wanted a trim. Walked in and immediately punched the counter. Employee walked around from behind the counter and gave me a hug and thanked me for brimging business. The workers were mad friendy and offered me a half-off-hair-crimping. I had been growing out my blond dreads but decided to get them crimped. Woman guided me to the deep sink and put a black tarp around my neck. She got out a hose and some shampo and scrubbed my head until all that dandruff came out. I started to swallow a ton of water and flung my whole body foward. I passed out on the ground and was shaken awake. I realized I was in the chair and halfway through my buzz. Also had my neck beard shaved off. Instantly busted out in razor burn all over my face and neck and throat. Slapped some Brute on it to sooth the sizzle. Well even though I had a mad itchy red neck from the little hairs, I decided to put my shirt back on. The hot employee and I had a nice long conversation about my back tat. Put my pizza sauce stained mushroomhead sleeveless back on. Left them a buck tip and some coupons for six flag. Stoked on my new crimped hair. Time to go eat a whopner. read more
