I know people may shy away from Supercuts and go a more professional salon way, but honestly, I swear by my Supercuts haircuts!!! For $18 you get a good haircut, for $25 you get a wash and cut, and a few more and they blow-dry it for you too. The perk of yelpers, is that you get to use the coupon for a few bucks off when you check in!! So you could use that discount to give your stylist a little extra tip for doing such a super job!! This place is never too.crowded, always clean, the people super nice and best of all a great value!! You can even reserve your seat at a certain time if you download the Supercuts app! It even let's you choose which person will have the pleasure of cutting those locks of yours! :) Definitely recommend this Supercuts!! read more

I am in SLO getting my car stereo changed out and it's gonna take 3 hours for the installation. I thought I'd kill some time and get my hair cut. Looking at the menu it says $19 for a cut, 22 for a cut and shampoo and for a cut, shampoo and simple blow dry is as quoted. I got about two inches chopped off and the cut is nice. However I paid $28 for the cut shampoo and blow dry and my hair is still damp underneath! I paid an extra $6 (and an extra 20% for the tip) to walk away with wet unstyled hair. This is why I prefer my normal salon closer to home. It's more expensive but you get a shampoo, cut, dry, and style for the price. The salon is nice, the ladies in there are great, and I'll have to see how my hair looks when I attempt to style it later, but overall this isn't my favorite place. read more

If I could give this location six stars I would! I usually go to the Foothill location because PJ is there and she's the best hairstylist I've ever had. But on this occasion she was scheduled to work at the Madonna location which I had never been to before so I decided to go get my haircut there. I'm disappointed that I hadn't had a chance to go there before because its amazing! It has way more floor space than the Foothill location, its exceptionally clean, there's a bunch of parking space nearby, AND ADDED BONUS Ralph's and Chipotle are right next door! So you can get your shopping done, get a fat burrito, and get a haircut all in the same general vicinity or at the same time if you roll like that! Getting back to the hairstylists: PJ is my favorite hairstylist ever! I've been going to get my haircuts with her for the past 2 years if not longer. She always makes sure to give me haircuts so clean that Mr. Clean himself wishes he had hair to get cut! Not only are her skills on point but she also makes sure to connect with her clients and develop that relationship which keeps everyone coming back time and again. I got this first-timer coupon on yelp, too, which was $5 off anything $17+, so I only paid $12. Everyone here is really polite and friendly, and my hair stylist Angela was super nice and really cared about making my hair look good. She made sure she understood what I wanted and did that exactly (yay for non scissor-happy hair stylists), and she always checked what she was going to do with me before she did it to make sure I liked it. I was greeted immediately signed in and sat down they then asked what I wanted done today and I told them I wanted a 1 on the sides and for them to take an inch off the top. The stylist kept looking away while cutting my hair started buzzing the sides stops and asks if I wanted a 1 or a 2 because she couldn't remember but started anyway and by the end of my cut I had pretty much gotten a buzz cut on the top because she did not stop looking away and kept cutting possibly the worst my hair has looked since I was 12 absolutely refused to tip. I went to get a hair cut and they treated me like a product on a line and rushed me in and out the door. Never going back here again. read more

I've continued to go here for several years now, and I know the names of the hairstylists I like now! Dana is my favorite to cut my hair. She did my original haircut (for Locks of Love), and I was so happy with her work that I try to get her every time. She's the young caucasian woman I referred to originally. If Dana's not available, then I like to get Angela (the older Asian woman). Angela has fantastic technique, and I've never been unhappy with her handiwork. Also, apparently, the male hairstylist was named Tyler, is not the owner's son, and no longer works there. I can now recommend this Supercuts without reservation! It's about time to get my hair trimmed again, so I'll be going in again soon! read more

Tip - You can get a Supercuts coupon twice per month for $1 off of your haircut and sometimes I get better coupons in my mailbox. I think the problems that some people mention can be easily avoided: #1 - Try to call 15-20 minutes ahead of time. This Supercuts is going to be really busy - especially before the weekend when everybody is trying to look good! By calling in ahead of time you get your name on the list. #2 - I've never had a problem with tipping like Joey M, but I rarely have less than $5 on me. The cashier will be more than happy to make change for you. I can't remember ever having a problem with the hair stylists and almost always walk away having had a good conversation. The only problem with Supercuts is that a haircut costs me $16 + tip. Not a healthy expense to have and that's the only reason that this place gets less than 5 stars. read more

We came here after not having great experiences at the Great Clips in SLO on Marsh. I think this place is more expensive though. Every haircut is $19 - they don't give any discount for children. We did take advantage of $5 off with check-in with yelp! The girl at the desk quoted me 30 minutes but we waited like 5. The girl who cut my son's hair was ok - not super friendly but did a nice job. At the end we went up to the counter to pay with the same girl that checked us in and she thought we just walked in to get a haircut....strange. I take my boys and my husband here about once a month. The staff is friendly and pays attention to what they ask for most of the time. The reason for the four stars is last Sunday afternoon I took my son in for his monthly haircut. It was about an hour before closing and they were busy but we waited. When we left me won was a little disappointed because the girl didn't gel his hair. Its a small thing but it is the small things that earn a five star rating. First off, I have never been a fan of Supercuts.......ever! Every time I ever attempted to get anything done, the "stylist" would always (without fail) jam the clippers across my scalp and the overall haircut would never be as I expected it to be. My cut usually entails short on the sides and slightly longer on top, but still short (I could do it at home with no mirror; it was that basic). With my recent experience in SLO, I have to say that I am willing to change my opinion! I think my stylists name was Adriana. She was not only super sweet, but she was hilarious! She not only did exactly what I had asked for the first time, but I hardly ever noticed her clippers touch my scalp. Have to say it was one of the best haircuts I have ever received! Oh, and the other younger girls...they're kind of funny to watch. They did, however, give a quick gimmick as you are leaving. They're like, "Oh, you look so handsome! I love your haircut!..." The Madonna Supercuts has always been a quick, easy in and out place to get your haircut. The staff here have always been nice and pleasant. Whenever I come in as a walk in, I have never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes, which gives me plenty of time to walk next door and grab a coffee from Starbucks. I have never had any major issues with the way that my hair has been cut; however, they are always more than willing to help fix whatever they can. read more

Not baaaad, but for me its been more misses then hits. I actually stopped going there because I couldn't find someone who did it juuuust right after going through 5 or 6 people. It was never really terrible, just figured after that many tries I'd find someone. By the way, I think the same people own the Supercuts in Paso Robles and Arroyo Grande. I often see the same hairdressers at all three locations so don't think you'll get lucky by trying a different Supercuts in this area. Ironically though I started going to a friend who works at Supercuts in Arroyo Grande, but they are a step above the rest. One weird thing is when you go to pay for it. Instead of having a tip line on the receipt they ask "keep it at $17" (or whatever the base amount is). You then have to say out loud in front of everyone how much you are going to tip. How awkward is that? I try to get around that by saying something like "make it $20," but stillll its like they are begging for the tip. Really weird. Just invest in a normal receipt printer - it is 2010! Other then that though the people seem to be nice and positive, although I don't think any of their long term goals are to stay with Supercuts from the vibe I get. read more

I usually search for a stylist whose "experienced" w/ curly hair. I like to wear my hair curly & need a cut complimenting that. Every time, I end up getting a cut at a high end salon, paying no less than $80 for a cut. Every time I've done that, I'm disappointed w/ the cut and feel guilty for paying a fortune for a terrible-mediocre cut that I do not have the salary for. A few days ago, I decided I'd go to Supercuts. My reasoning was, "If it turns out great, SCORE, and if not, sad, but at least I didn't flush 3 wks of groceries down the toilet!" I walked in w/ no appt. & was seated in less than 20 min. (Btw, when you make an appt. at high end salons, they're usually booked 1-2 wks. in advance and you still have to wait 10-20 min. once you get there on time). Kelly was my stylist and greeted me w/ a GENUINE smile & hello; I showed her pictures of what I wanted, explained what I didn't want, and specified how much I wanted trimmed. She reciprocated by clarifying exactly what I wanted, and my cut w/ layers turned out exactly as I had anticipated! I only spent $20!!!!! That's including a $7 tip!! I made an appointment with Joyful on Wednesday, November 10th 2021 at 2:30nat San Luis Obispo Supercuts. I arrived a little bit early and sat down. A few people came and went but I didn't see Joyful. No one checked me in, the receptionist went to the back and never returned to check me in. While I was sitting there the phone rang about 20 times until one of the stylists finally answered, still no receptionist. In the meantime joyful walked in and took another customer and the other stylist (Natalie- I asked her what her name was when I was leaving) motioned for me to come back to her station. I was so surprised that I just didn't know quite what to say. The receptionist completely ignored me, and Joyful did as well. I was completely ignored, did not get the person with whom I made the appointment. I felt very embarrassed when I left and then became upset at the way I was treated. I feel I am owed an apology and a refund for the cost of the haircut. I will not be returning to Supercuts and will no recommend to anyone. read more

Her name is Angela Bang. I've been coming to her for about a year now. After moving from the valley, I searched high a low for a place to cut my hair that wasn't going to empty my pocketbook. Not that some people aren't worth their time and skill but I'm on a budget. First time I walked into this place I sat in someone else's chair and was okay but not enthralled with my cut. During my haircut, I was looking through the mirror at Angela work her clients hair. Whoa was I impressed! Every snip was like an orchestra of smooth timing. It came like second nature to her. She's that good. So, needles to say, my next appointment was with her. I don't know how this woman is cutting hair for $18 a pop but I'm guessing she makes up for it with killer tips! Since that first cut, I was hooked. No need to look further. I have an A-line cut and she really tightened it up and gave it super volume. Angela works weekends which fits my schedule. A big plus! On to the shop, clean, staff is nice, hours are decent. The cost is phenomenal! Large selection of salon products at great prices. Plenty of parking in surrounding shopping center. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER I am usually not a person to complain, or give one star reviews. But after the way I was treated at this supercuts, I couldn't allow them to have such high stars when they treat their customers poorly. I went in at opening time on a Wednesday morning, and there was one person getting their haircut when they walked in, and three ladies working. Two guys came in after me, and both of them were served and left before I was given a seat. (one of them was obviously friends with the check-in person, because although he arrived last, they began chatting and he was immediately given a chair.) Then I FINALLY got taken back after waiting 30 minutes. Now mind you, only ONE of the three people working was doing anything. The other two were standing around chatting and changing the music, even though the floor in front of the podium was surrounded in hair (ew, how did it even get there?) I got seated and she was getting ready to wax my eyebrows, when another woman walks in, saying she needs a wax. This lady just walked right into the back! I was sitting in the chair, but felt uncomfortable, as the salon worker just looked at me, until I finally stood up. YES. SHE MADE ME GET OUT OF MY CHAIR and then asked me to go back and sit in the waiting area. I promptly left. I'm sad I was treated this way because I have enjoyed my experience at every other supercuts, but this was the second time that people at this location have treated me unkindly. read more
