I gave a 5star to this supercut only because of having Angelica Ortiz. What happened was someone cut my hair way too short in this place. I was very sad and disappointed. I went back to Angelica who I had haircut a few years ago with her. She did an amazing job. After she finished my hair I felt better of having short hair right away. If you want to be happy after you done with your haircut in this place ask for Angelica. Because she's the one makes you happy of what you've done on your hair. Thank you Angelica! I have been getting my haircut here for years and years. Robin is awesome and consistently cuts my hair. Angelica is also quite good. I am totally happy with this shop. And yes I get every tenth haircut for free with the loyalty card and if you shop at Ralph's across the parking lot you can get a four dollars off coupon on the back of the receipt. read more

We have been going to this location for several years with my son and husband to get there haircuts. Kelly has always been wonderful with my son since his 1st hair cut and every other cut from 4-6 weeks since then. He wasn't the easiest little guy to have a hair cut on. She always has had patients and understanding with him. Now he gives her a big hug and a kiss on the cheek every time he is in to get his haircut with Kelly. He is now 4 1/2 and so relaxed when he hops up to her chair. And although we have now moved out of San Luis Obispo, we still drive to get his haircut done by Kelly. Staff has always been friendly with booking an appointment on the phone or in person. One other perk to going to Supercuts to get a haircut is the reward card, it's free! Every cut goes towards a free cut when the card is filled out completely. Nice perk especially when you go in as often as we do. read more

This location is hit or miss. The Asian lady in the back cuts hair real good. She has cut my hair three times and every time it came out perfect. I'm not extremely picky but I notice when something is out of order. Highly recommended. I believe her name is Angela read more

I don't think haircuts should ever average 20 minutes. Lol. I've given supercuts so many chances to restore my faith in this salon but they've let me down every single time. 20$ for 20 minutes of beginner haircutting. The lady that cut my hair has no confidence holding the clippers like come on. For all Asians looking for a clean cut, DO NOT go to supercuts because you will be disappointed every single time. If you're happy with this place, you obviously don't know squat about what constitutes a GOOD hair cut, including proper client protection and procedure. I am not a licensed stylist, but have extensive knowledge in legalities when it comes to State Board Regulations. Customers should NOT be walked through piles of hair. Once a client has left a station ALL hair should be swept from the floor. ALL tools should be sanitized, not used from one customer to the next, and then another, then another. If a stylist drops a tool, they should get a fresh, clean one. There should be a paper collar between the client and the drape. Towels should be fresh and clean between clients, not re-used. Angelica is a nightmare. She doesn't even put her name on her business card, therefore she can't be reported to State Board of Cosmetology. She wasn't supposed to put layers in my hair. She did. UNDERNEATH. The freaking under hair is shorter than the top. Who the heck cuts like that? At the nape my hair is only 4 inches long. The hair that goes over the top is 10 inches long. I am not happy. I called the manager about this and she said "sorry" but offered NO correction or refund (which is what you're supposed to do. In addition, I had a brow wax. The Esthetician ( who didn't tell me her name) put NO arch in the brows whatsoever and chistle-pointed the ends. Stupid, stupid people. For all this service I paid a whopping $47. I could have gone elsewhere, been treated better and gotten service done correctly. Don't be surprised if you go in this salon and end up with lice, seborrheic dermatitis or a bacterial infection. They are dirty, germ ridden and operating against State Law. No kidding. They need to be CLOSED. read more

The worst haircut of my life. My hair looks like I have a bowl cut. I am not the type of person that religiously cuts my hair. I was long, stringy and needed a good trim and a little shaping. I wear my hair up a lot for work so a simple cut, a few layers, and bangs. I'm good. Easy peasy... my hair is bobbed to my shoulders now, she only cut the back. Didn't cut the top at all or even pull all of my bangs down, so any old growth that should of been trimmed away still there. I feel like flipping prince Charles. It's awful... why didn't I go back and complain... I don't want her cutting any more if my hair. If you see an older Asian woman in there run....that would be here. She wanted nothing more than to spray products in my hair and try and sell them to me.. less than 5 minutes. Never again, the same thing happened to my sister the last time we were there.. read more

Kandice was extremely knowledgeable about hair growth and helped cut my hair perfectly for my head shape, she even rinsed the hairs off me and threw some product in their so I didn't have to deal with the mess of taking a shower and getting ready again. I had a horrible experience here, and after 15 years of my patronage at this particular Supercuts location on Madonna Road, I plan to never return. I walked in and was given a wait time, but by the time I was seated, the wait time was a lot longer (the wait time given was 45 minutes, but I was seated in about 1 hour 15 minutes). It just seemed to me that people who did not call in ahead of time and who arrived later were being seated before me (I can't prove this, so am just using the word 'seems'). For example, one guy came in much later than me, but had my same name 'John,' and was seated quickly (I believe the receptionist allowed him to take my place). When I complained to the receptionist, Lizzie, she just didn't seem to care at all and to me seemed rude. I just feel bad for the hairdressers who did nothing wrong, worked hard for their licenses, but have people working at the front desk that create such a bad experience for customers. I feel that this is a very appropriate and accurate review and hope Yelp does not take it down simply b/c the store owners just don't like it. read more

Okay so I destroyed my hair at home, two months back. I went into supercuts and was put with one of their usual hairstylists, she could already tell I was stressed and worried so instead of just cutting my hair she got the manager. The manager looked at my hair and knew right away I was in trouble. I explained my hair was falling out in massive chunks and how stressed I was. She understood and started conditioning my hair and let me sit there with it. Finally when it came down to cutting my hair she explained that my hair was so destroyed that no matter how I cut it, it would still break off. So I'm practically in tears sitting in the chair and that's when she sat there and comforted me. She took the time out of her busy schedule to make me feel better. She told me all about how she was in my shoes before (actually in a worse situation) and did everything she could to make me feel better. I can't thank her enough, thank you Kelly! My hair has finally grown back healthy and your advice saved me and made me feel so much better. read more

I am so happy with my first trip to Supercuts today and the wonderful haircut I got from Robin. I have been to many of the salons in SLO over the years and this Supercuts is really good. The place is clean, professional and upbeat. Robin truly listened to me and was so knowledgeable that she made the experience really fantastic. The haircut she gave me works great with little effort and glamorous with more effort. Which were the looks I was hoping to get out of the haircut. Not to mention it is affordable and I got tons of compliments all day. I was truly happy to tell everyone Robin at Supercuts made it so terrific. I like the supercuts here on madonna road its clean and is very upbeat the gir l in the front was very understanding about how long the wait time was I was glad she works there. I didn't catch her name though. She was sympathetic when I explained my situation about my kids and making them loook great . I was pleased with someone my sons stylist she did well . I got my hair cut awhile back by one of the gals at super cuts in San Luis. I have naturally curly hair and I just wanted an inch off, I didn't catch her name but she had brown/dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, middle age women. It looked fine because my hair was wet and I couldn't tell. But unfortunately when I got home one side was shorter then the other! It had to been about an inch and a half shorter on the other side. Really am disappointed. Won't be coming back here again. Hire people that know how to work with all hair types! read more
