For hair of my length with bangs, that felt noticeably shorter than what I've experienced at other salons. After styling, I like to double-check the length, and I noticed the sides weren't quite even. Gabrielle was very responsive and quickly fixed it when I pointed it out, which I appreciated. Overall it was a good experience, but I do think spending a bit more time on precision during the cut would make it even better, since the haircut itself is really the main reason I came in.

I had made it clear via texts that I wanted grey blending and that if they thought the hair was healthy enough, they could add some highlights. Instead, I received balayage, and the bleach was left on my hair for four hours. When I washed it, the bleached hair looked partially white, tangled, and many of the strands broke down and fell off. She then added a dark color to the roots and toner, basically covering up the highlights. Also, stain of color were left on face and forehead. Update after owner reply: The dark root was not done at my request -- that claim is completely false. I specifically asked Andrea for grey blending, which was not done. I also requested a lighter color on the roots, but she said it wouldn't look nice with the rest of my hair. Additionally, I asked both you (via text, which I still have) and Andrea to evaluate the condition of my hair before proceeding. If, as you stated, the hair was already so damaged, why did your team still move forward with such a harsh treatment? Maybe you want to take some responsibility for the poor quality of service provided, instead of placing the blame on the client.

I am an Asian with platinum blonde hair…read more When I went in for my initial appointment, my hair was very damaged from previous bleaching that fried my hair and about 6 months of regrowth. Jessica was very straightforward with me about what to expect. She told me that it may take more than one session and that she would only bleach my hair for a set amount of time this session for the sake of my hair health. However much it lifts, it lifts. I really appreciated her honesty because what's the point of saving money on sessions if all your hair falls out? And if I was someone who wanted to save money on sessions I would've then had the opportunity to go elsewhere. Since then I've seen her regularly for root touch ups and I get so many compliments on my hair color. My hair also feels and looks healthy, which is saying a lot for bleached hair. Admittedly I'm not even that diligent with my home haircare routine. I've been to a lot of different salons in my hair journey and no one else is as attentive to details in service as she is. She tucks a cover into your shirt, puts the neck cloth on, ear covers, vaseline on my skin to protect it from the bleach, then the cape. All things that I know are taught in cosmetology school but no one really actually does. I never have to worry about bleach stains on the back of my shirt or it getting wet, which has happened to me even at "high-end" salons. I'm offered snacks and drinks each time as well. She never compromises on quality. After one of my root touch ups my hair didn't lift as well because I had waited too long between sessions and my roots looked more yellow. I asked her if we could do another session. She said that we could if I wanted to, but she did not recommend it because my hair is fragile. Who says no to more money? Another time I was her last patient on her birthday. I tried to leave without a blow dry so that she could get off earlier but she insisted on blowdrying my hair. I'm a loyal client, it's not like I'm going anywhere, we can skip it once. But nope, 5 star service every single time. Even on her birthday. I don't know how to describe it but because Jessica has this energy that is so extroverted yet personable, it creates such a nice environment where I find myself having conversations with other clients too. Like if we're talking about a viral video or something like that, the person in the next chair over will be like, oh I saw it too! And we'll all talk together. It gives me small positive interactions with other people that makes it so I find that I always leave in a good mood. One thing I notice when I'm in the salon is that she remembers details about all of her clients. I see a lot of different faces because I come back so often for touch ups. She doesn't just have the standard "how are you" conversations. She asks clients about if their kid is feeling better from their sickness, how their trip to Chicago went, how they're liking their new job, etc. I asked once if I could get bangs and again, she said I could if I wanted to, but she did not recommend it because she knows I work in healthcare and that the bangs will be in my face while I'm working on patients. She recommended a different style instead (cut by her male assistant) and I got the most compliments I've ever gotten from that haircut. She remembered when my scalp was sensitive to the toning and so she mixed a different formulation the next time that felt less spicy. Despite all of this, her prices are incredibly reasonable. She takes cash or Zelle, no cards though. It was helpful that she let me know this in advance. I usually text her to make appointments but you can also call and she is very responsive. This was a long review but she really is so amazing and deserving of all the compliments! I recommend her to everyone!
