I messaged her to confirm it about a week before my appointment, she said everything was good to go.... Then she cancelled on me 2 days before the appointment. She said her grandma wasn't doing well, but turns out she has 7 bridesmaids and 3 prom girls scheduled on the same day/time I was scheduled for and she hasn't cancelled on them... so... she overbooked herself and I was the easiest to get rid of. I WISH things would've turned out better. She did offer me an appointment a week later, but at that point I had lost all trust and was so disappointed that I told her it wasn't worth rescheduling.

Results usually are passable with other hairdressers, short, a bit on the pencil top side. Buuuut - enter The Hairgod - James Penrose!!! So first of all, this guy looks at my hair and actually has a detailed plan. I am thinking okay - unusual! Most stylists just mow their way through and send me home with a sigh of relief. Not so James. He proceeds with varying tools of the trade and gives me this beautifully styled haircut with gently faded sides, sculpted back, and an artfully styled top, using a dab of mousse. I am still reeling in shock. And you know, I am not a mousse master, to be sure, but - it still looks cute. You can't ruin it - hallmark of any great haircut. Yeah - so if you need a wonderful haircut - please go to James. He is not a hairdresser, nor a stylist, he is an artist!!! And, don't forget - he is THE HAIRGOD!!!

I made an appointment & brought in 5 pictures and said "You are the artist" He assessed my hair, moving his knowledgeable fingers through my hair & cut it dry. That was the first sign, the only other hairdresser that could give a great cut, cut my hair dry. WOW, I get up in the morning & finger-fluff it and go, and it was that way for weeks. He knows hair, and I have given him the moniker of 007. I told him I am calling you 007. At my next appointment once again.....the most amazing haircut ever & when he was done I said "they call you 007" he laughed & smiled and said "you do" James you better never retire!!! I was attracted to the seemingly effortless style that each of those brides had (although a lot of work goes into those effortless styles). Luckily for me she was available and able to travel down to the Big Sur area for our big day. I went up for a test a few months before the wedding with her and Sarah (make-up). I couldn't have been more delighted with the outcome. I wanted a low bun- with wisps look. I also had succulents that I wanted put in the side of my hair. Not only did I look and feel amazing, I also hired her and Sarah to do my bridal party's hair - which was no easy feat. From braids to super long hair to super short hair - they had to make it work for all of them. We all received so many compliments from our family and friends. She listened to everything I said, she took her time evaluating my hair and facial structure, and she was very uplifting and positive about what style would suit me.
