Superfolie feels like they made it just for me. Its exactly what I want in a wine bar. The wines and cocktails are great. The menus are slim, not overwhelming. And every option appeals to me. The snack plate was good--I slipped some Marcona almonds in my pocket to take home for my spouse. The citrus spice on them was so good! They played music I love. Staff were friendly and cool. My not-girlfriend got back from Spain recently, and all she has been able to talk about is the Spanish summer drink "Tinto de Verano," which is essentially just a mix of red wine and soda. I'm an uncultured swine and didn't know it existed until last week. She had been anxiously awaiting to go to Superfolie all day, as they are a European wine bar that served the red gold, but didn't open until 3pm. We walked in right at open to a beautiful interior flooded with natural light. I don't know if the bartender was annoyed at our early arrival or what but he was NOT messing with us at all. He was ice cold, but I'm an empath and maybe he was having a bad day. I been there. We ordered a round of Tintos ($13), a snack plate, and the Tuna Crudo. I took my first sip of a Tinto, and was not sold at all. The combination of red wine and grapefruit soda just wasn't doing it for me. It felt like 2 things that just weren't meant to be together. However, the strangest thing happened. In the blink of an eye, my drink was finished and I found my entire being CRAVING another TDV. We ended up having 4 each, and I am now a believer. It reminded me of my first Aperol Spritz. My initial reaction was "Yuck..." but next thing I knew I had demolished it and just wanted another one. I need to shout out my boy Federico Vargas, a Spanish innkeeper who invented the drink in the 1920s to keep the locals refreshed in a hot Spanish summer. Honestly the best small plates/wine bar I have been to all year. Located just steps away from where I was staying, it's such a cute spot for a girls night out or even a date night! Ya gotta give it up for a wine bar with a solid happy hour, outdoor seating, kind staff, and good vibes. I've actually never stepped inside this spot which is kind of hilarious, but drinking wine outside is more my vibe. The long and short of it is that my dog spilled an entire glass of rosè everywhere last Thursday and my server was VERY COOL about it. He was bringing over sesame sticks to enjoy with my happy hour rosè when my dog basically jumped at the table out of nowhere and knocked my wine over. Fred was a good pup the rest of the time, I enjoyed my (not spilled over) glass of wine solo, and wasn't charged for the spilled glass even though I insisted. Thank you to the team here for humoring me and my unpredictable dog - we had a lovely time. I highly recommend getting here on the earlier side of happy hour as spots do fill up. I've been here a few times - most recently on a Friday night. I love the outside seating, and while it took about 30 min for a seat outside (there are only a few outside, and seats were available sooner inside), it was def work the wait ! There were 2 weekend special wines - I ordered the white blend which the server said was giving margarita wine, and yes she was correct!! It was so refreshing on a hot summer night! We also got the snack plate and frisée salad to share - I loved the salad which was light and tangy with delicious cherries. The snack plate was perfect - we nibbled and had a second glass. We were going to a concert at the Kimmel and asked my son where we could get a light dinner before the show at 7. He suggested Superfolie for happy hour. Great wine list and marvelous little plates. Superfolie is perfect. Everything Ham said it would be. Wonderful little plates, house red is good. Connor is more than great. It was like leaving the U.S. for a happy hour. I've been looking forward to trying Superfolie for a while now since the vibes look impeccable. I'm loving all the wine bars that have been popping up as of late, and Superfolie seemed to be a great addition. Finally stopped by over the winter and snagged a table right by the window. It was a weekday night, but Superfolie was still pretty crowded! The restaurant is quite dark and moody inside, but the ambience matches well for what it is. The space is decently large inside, with both downstairs and upstairs seating, as well as ample outdoor seating during the warmer months. It was quite loud inside - it was sometimes difficult to have a conversation with my friend from just across the table. But this isn't too hard to imagine given the space and the vibe. Their menu is short and sweet, but with options for everyone. I opted for a glass of red, which was complex and delightful, especially for a cooler day. My friend opted for a cocktail, which featured unique ingredients and was refreshing. We split a few cheeses and a tartine, which was excellent light pairings with our drinks. I appreciate the more appertivo options instead of full meals - allows you to try more dishes and adequately pair! The tartine was seasonal and fresh, and the cheeses were unique and authentic, having a great bite to them. Our server was kind, checking in at an appropriate pace and helping us with the menu as requested. Prices were very reasonable for feeling like a more upscale bar. I would love to make it back to Superfolie to sit on their patio and split a bottle of wine with my husband or a friend. Looking forward to a return visit to try more wines and dishes! read more

Wine bar with limited selection. We visited Superfolie on a Saturday night, and it was packed. The bar is quite dark on the inside, and it was fairly loud with the music. The wine that I tried had an unusual smoky and acidic flavor relative to what I'm used to. Small space with a laid back vibe. We had the Gem Caesar & Comte cheese on the side. The gem brassy also had Comte cheese on it so we had a lot of Comte cheese. I wish the server had told us as we would ordered a different appetizer. There seemed to be a lot of couples on first or second dates. Super excited to have this place in the neighborhood. Stopped in here on a Friday night right before 7pm and it was packed but we were able to quickly get a table for three. My friend and I got the 5th century and our other friend got a chardonnay. The cocktail was fantastic- a great summer drink. And the wine pour was generous which is always a plus. The bites are small, but delicious. They were a little pricey, though, so I probably won't order food here again. The service on the food was superrrr slow- I think it probably took 30-40 minutes for us to get everything. Dark, cozy, and intimate, I think it's the perfect place for a quick after dinner drink or a fun bite to eat in a relaxed setting. I think it will be hard to get seats here in the coming days as attention grows! Our drinks arrived within 2 minutes of us ordering, and the staff was both knowledgeable and friendly when walking through the menu. The mezzanine area is where we sat for our drinks, but it looked like the bar area (6 seats total) was absolutely popping when we left. Give it a try! We made plans to come here early on Friday night for fear they would fill up quickly and I have to say that was a good move. We had no trouble finding a seat at 5 but by the time we left, every table was filled. It's a sweet intimate space but not dark and glow-ey. The big window and high ceilings bring a lightness to this spot. They offer an extensive list of wine and have a handful of special cocktails. I ordered a Manhattan and it was delicious. The bites here are small so it seems like a good place to come right after work and have a drink or two and have light fare. We ordered a variety of items but I especially liked the steak tartar. Their charcuterie selection is quite good and the smashed cucumbers were light and delicious. We had saved our appetites and realized that this not that kind of place but that is certainly not a negative thing. The food is well prepared and the space is buzzing and lovely. Went here last night after finishing dinner elsewhere and looking for a nice end of evening glass of wine and dessert. The vibe was not hospitable and our waiter was not friendly and seemed rather annoyed and inconvenienced by me and my husband. It wasn't even busy when we were there. The house cocktails we tried were creative, pretty, delicious and served in a chilled glass. The chicken liver mousse is probably the best in the city and comes with a really good fruit preserve. The staff is really knowledgeable and observant, they brought us some extra bread for our food before we even knew we were running low. I'm always happy when we have the time to stop in. read more

Went in today and the food and wine was good, the problem is that I dont think they clean their bar well because there was flies all over the place to the point one even fell inside my friends wine glass which was disgusting, the bartender instead of pouring another glass just poured a little and called it a day... They advertise having a knowledgeable staff, but after asking to speak with their sommelier twice on a very not busy evening and having no one come by to answer our questions, google had to do the work for us in selecting wines. Our water carafe was served luke warm. Only one of us had silverware. At the end of the day we tried a Muscadet which, for a typically reliable wine, was pretty underwhelming and not cheap. Perhaps we could have picked something better with guidance from staff, but I guess they couldn't make it to our table that night. At these price points we'll stick to other spots where staff doesn't mind providing some guidance. read more
