We have been using Superior Air to service our home air conditioning system for years. As many know, here in the Central Valley, it is almost a requirement to have a system to maintain our homes habitable during those weather extremes. Last summer, our original AC unit finally died. After providing almost 15 years of service to our home. We called Superior Air and had a new Carrier unit installed in our home. This unit has been stellar in its 7 months of service till last Saturday. We received an error on the control panel and lost all heat to our home. Called first thing Monday morning, and a technician came out within the hour and had our unit operating again. This group have always been courtesy, professional, and honest with their feedback. This is the first time I've used Superior Air and I can honestly say, I am so pleased with the results and turnaround time. I called Superior on Monday and spoke to Jessica around 2pm. I explained my situation to her, and she was able to schedule me for a same day visit. The technician (Brandon- who is GREAT! I will ask for him again and again and again) did a great job. He did some troubleshooting, went to the attic, checked the breaker and determined what was wrong. I had to leave for an appointment and left my adult daughter in charge. Brandon explained to her what needed to be done but also called me to explain that he needed a part and would come back the next day (since it was already 5pm and the warehouse was closed). Brandon not only provided me with peace of mind, but he also let me know I had a whole house fan, which he turned on and showed my daughter how to use it. No call registered in my call log and there wasn't a voicemail left for me. At this point it's 3 days without AC. We're having a hot spell, 90 degrees today. Superior Air really stood up to the name, SUPERIOR! I own a Flower Shop and we were in desperate need for a new refrigerator. Larry guided me in the right direction and told me what I needed. We got a refrigerator that was bigger than my old one and SO MUCH more energy efficient. This one is constantly at the proper temperature, air tight and keeps my flowers fresher than ever!!! let me start off by explaining my problem...in a short version! I had my a/c unit down called superior air, after several phone calls and self investigation I discovered that SA originally installed my outside unit at the time of my home purchase (2014). I still have the proof of conditions to be done prior to sale being completed. I explained that to them and expected the part to be covered by warranty after I went on the manufacturers website and found out they have 10 year warranty. I was told part was not covered received a extremely high quote to repair my unit $4,115 that came w/ 1 yr parts and 5 year compressor warranty.. hmmm but mines 4 yrs old and not covered (1st clue) - so I asked for a quote for a new unit to compare $$ and was given quote for $5,941 with a 10yr warranty on all parts. I was very confused as to why the part was not covered if it had only been 4 years since mine was installed by them??? and I was not satisfied with their information that I kept researching on my own. I ultimately found another company/technician who came out on a Thurs eve and told me Friday noon that my compressor still had warranty and he ordered my part. I then contacted superior air and questioned them and this is what I was told "we apologize for any miscommunication and glad you were able to resolve it through warranty. we were informed by our rep that is was 5 years to the original owner only" they send me snap of warranty stating the seller and title co. as new owner.... so basically superior air did not do their job at the time and list myself as the original owner as I am the one who purchased the home. Second it has only been 4 years since date of install. Just to emphasize the stress over the financial hardship, living in a home with no A/C for almost 2 weeks with 3 kids and having to do all the leg work myself was a very stressful and frustrating situation to go through. The worst part is not having any empathy for my family and my situation. Not offering to make things better what so ever. I did mention I would be reporting them to the BBB and I will. I cant express how disappointed I am to know that I was either being taken advantage of for being a woman, or if this is something they do on a regular basis, and/or this company likes to double dip!! Either way it is WRONG! to do to anyone and worse to not acknowledge your lack of customer service. I had to give myself some time to cool down and gather myself after this experience to write this review. I hope people read it and do their research when it comes to anything these days because unfortunately we can not trust anyone. If I could post our email conversations I would just to show the lack of professionalism and compassion for their customers. Trust me I am a professional myself and I will be spreading your name by word of mouth to everyone I come into contact with. Ok SA even if it was not 10 and 5 like you say, it's been 4 years to the date and the original owner is me! You had to have known the home was for sale at the time as you listed the previous owner (I don't want to mention their last name) and the title co. Duh! Pretty clear to me... I don't know how you don't understand it it's simple. Who you have as owner is who paid thats it. Last I checked The title co. is not paying my mortgage. And your apologies sound very sincere! Because we had an old unit, our air conditioning and heating bills were almost double what the neighbors were paying. But we hadn't set aside enough money to take care of this when we purchased this home, so we decided to tough it out for a while. We finally gave up. We met Larry and his company at one of the local "home shows". He seemed pretty competent and after a check of his State Contractor's license info, decided to shortlist him for our air conditioning project on a 1600 sf home. Larry sent a tech to do some measurements on the existing roof unit (which was original to the house and about 38 years old) and turned around his proposal in a few days. We did solicit proposals from two other local companies; one never showed up to do the site survey, while the other was about $500 more expensive and was not willing to try to match. When we were finally able to move forward, we gave Larry a call, he gave us a couple of installation date options, and it was on. The crew made quick work of disconnecting the existing unit, replacing the breaker, and started working on correcting some issues with the ducts and venting when the crane showed up to swap in our new unit. It was fun to watch the crane/installer ballet from across the street. Within an hour, the crane was gone. Two hours later, the main crew was gone, but a senior tech by the name of Steve stayed to wrap up the installation. I think that they did not expect that he would be spending as much time as he did. However, Steve got all the airflow to balance out and we were able to enjoy the new unit almost immediately. My only criticism with this experience is that I ended up getting a call from Visalia's Building Department because the swap permit they needed to pull for this job was about to expire. That's because the final inspection had not been scheduled or signed off. A well-worded email to Larry got the third-party certifying guy to complete his City filing, and the Building Inspector to come out. No issues were found, so our permit was closed successfully. These guys are apparently busy, but I'm thinking that it's because of great workmanship, not mass marketing. We have been enjoying actual temperature control in the house, and our electricity bill is half of what it was compared to when we moved in -- so, on par with the neighbors. I can strongly recommend that you give Larry a call when you're looking for heating or air conditioning solution in this part of the Valley. read more

We are renovating our 100+ year old house and we have hired many, MANY contractors for various things over the last 18 months, and Superior Air is by far the best company we've worked with. Our house hadn't had any type of central air/heating so we had to go with the whole deal for the whole house. We were worried it would be a headache (like everything else has been) but thankfully Superior Air made it easy. Thank you guys!!!! This company has integrity and a strong work ethic, and they followed through with everything they said they would. When we contacted them, we ALWAYS got a return call. We even had a foreman come to our house on a Sunday (his day off) to make sure that everything was in place for the next phase of work we needed done. It's always a treat to meet and have some interaction with people like Larry at Superior Air. I am particularly picky when it comes to contractors and the work they perform. In an area that I know very little about like HVAC it becomes very difficult to sort through the different opinions from multiple contractors. Then I meet a guy like Larry. Keep in mind that we are hundreds of miles apart and there is no sale opportunity for Superior Air. Larry graciously shared his knowledge in regard to the system I needed to repair or replace. He gave me great things to look for, what to watch out for and more. His design standards are state of the art and monitored by third parties to ensure compliance. In the end, Larry helped me sort through some bids and he suggested one as a standout. He helped me validate what they were offering to do and knew of the contractor I ultimately chose through some common certifying agencies. Larry's gracious unbiased input (since he had no business opportunity himself) was greatly appreciated. I am very grateful for his assistance In the end, I chose a competing brand and a great contractor. I have to be honest and say that my ultimate choice is one I almost completely discounted because his approach was so much different than all others who offered bids. They were different because all of the others took an old school approach to my installation. It certainly would have worked but would not be optimum in performance and energy efficiency. The certified installation I chose was a 20% smaller compressor system that is more than capable of heating and cooling my home. The initial cost is lower than the larger units and I am completely confident the energy cost savings will be very notable. Why do I say all of this? Well, because if you need a system in Larry's area of service you too can realize the benefits of a state of the art sizing and installation experience. Larry's approach will most certainly be the same as the guidance he gave me. I highly recommend you speak to Larry about your HVAC needs. I had a diagnostic performed on my furnace, which cost me $75.00 to tell me my Inducer motor was bad, which I already knew. The reason I had them come out was to replace the motor. I was flabbergasted when the technician told me that the cost of the Inducer motor was going to be $625.00. Talk about price gouging. I told them "No Thank You", and ordered the same unit from Amazon for $150.00. Their price quote of $625.00 was outrageous. I would not give them my business ever again. read more

I'm a retired contractor from San Diego and relocated to Exeter at the first of the year. My company in San Diego was rated no. 1 on Yelp because my employees and myself took the quality of our work and customer service very seriously and I'm thrilled to say Superior Air approaches their business the same way. I have been expanding and making improvements on my house since I've been here, though I've done a lot of work myself I have had to hire contractors for the phases I didn't have the skill set or the personnel to get the job done and I have to tell you with the exception of Superior Air it's been like herding cats dealing with the contractors I've hired. I had Superior Air put in a complete new system, the AC, heating unit and all new ducting thru out the entire house and I told Raul my wife has MS and is house bound so air conditioning is extremely important and I couldn't afford to have the system down for days and he told me don't worry I'll take care of you. No truer words have ever been said, they showed up with a huge crew and worked 12 hours straight had the old system tore out and my new system installed in one day and working when they left. The next day had some men out to button up and to the man they were polite, courteous, respectful of my house and my wife and myself and neat. Six months later we had a issue with our thermostat and called it in and they had someone out the next day to address the issue and the most important thing that I've failed to mention is the system works beautifully and is much less expensive to run than our old system. Sunday the air conditioner starts making this buzz-saw noise, I called our home warranty, made a claim, and then remembered that the home warranty is great for anything except when the air conditioner goes out--they are not that prompt, and who knows who they are going to send out--and naturally the AC only breaks down when it's 100 degrees for a long stretch. So Superior Air had actually been at our house in the past on a home warranty claim, and I remembered I was impressed. Anyway, canceled the home warranty claim, called Superior, made an appointment for them to come out (Wednesday; by contrast the home warranty's policy is that you're going to get a call within 24 "business hours" to make an appointment and then at that point you get to find out when they can come). Brandon from Superior shows up, trouble-shoots, replaces the bad part, cleans the unit, explains the process thoroughly with examples, and we're back in business without wiping out the bank account. Great service from them in the past and they are amazing with information and customer service. Have used them for Home and Business. This time they priced out a motor fan replacement and wanted to charge $600.00+ for a $170.00 motor. Something that would take less than 1 hour to replace they wanted over $400.00 to do it. Asked for some reduction in price in the matter and informed them that I knew what the motor cost and they said they would offer a 10% discount. Now it was $580.00. Still a $400.00 labor charge. I have ordered the motor from Amazon for 173.00 and will replace myself. Was willing to pay a labor charge as I know you have to make margin to survive, but at this rate it's not going to be from me. read more

Larry is incredible... and I mean it. He regularly answers questions for people about HVAC on-line. He is truly an expert. I talked with six contractors about an A/C install and his response time was the fastest. He really does what is best for the customer and he is not just out to sell the unit with the largest profit margin. While the other guys will always try to up-size your unit, he will actually correctly size you unit and get you the greatest comfort level in your home. Running a smaller, correctly sized unit saves way more energy than the other guys who simply try to up-sell higher SEER units. He uses engineering standards to size units and he doesn't fudge the numbers. He will send a guy to your house to measure everything and customize your unit sizing to match your housing needs. This includes windows and insulation among other things. Other A/C contractors just wanted to replace my unit with the same size I had, follow "rules of thumb", or tell me bogus numbers just to get me to buy the larger unit. My home is only 8 years old and very energy efficient! A "rule of thumb" does not apply for every house! Larry did a calculation for me for FREE even though he knows I don't live in the area and I can't buy anything from him! I had to take all of the measurements myself since I am out of town, but no contractor in my area would do the correct calculation AT ALL. Larry is a perfect example of a business that actually does things to please the customer and really do what is best for them. If I lived in the area then I would hire him in an instant. If you can pick him to do your job then you are lucky. I wish he lived in my town! read more
