I have called 3 times to have someone recheck work that was preformed and no one will return our call! Horrible customer service!

Great service from them in the past and they are amazing with information and customer service. Have used them for Home and Business. This time they priced out a motor fan replacement and wanted to charge $600.00+ for a $170.00 motor. Something that would take less than 1 hour to replace they wanted over $400.00 to do it. Asked for some reduction in price in the matter and informed them that I knew what the motor cost and they said they would offer a 10% discount. Now it was $580.00. Still a $400.00 labor charge. I have ordered the motor from Amazon for 173.00 and will replace myself. Was willing to pay a labor charge as I know you have to make margin to survive, but at this rate it's not going to be from me. read more

He even came out on a Saturday. They also submitted all the paperwork to SCE for my rebate and upgraded my thermostat to a wifi Honeywell thermostat. We purchased a house in 2014 and had to replace a very old air conditioning system. I received several bids and chose the contractor with the most experience and best references. After the installation, I was not happy - the force of cold air coming from my vents was very uncomfortable and when I asked the installer about it, he offered me several "band aid" options, most of which would have cost me money in adding additional ducts, soffits, etc. I wasn't happy with the options I was given, and I wasn't particularly confident in his advice, so I contacted a couple HVAC companies in my area, asking if they would look at my manual J to see if my system was sized correctly and give me a second opinion. None of them returned my call, so I turned to the HVAC-Talk forum. Larry, the owner of Superior Air, responded to my thread and offered to re-run the manual J for me to determine if the sizing of my system was incorrect. Fast forward 260 emails later - Larry not only re-ran the Manual J and discovered that I was oversized by 1 ton, but he took a LOT of time going over all the calculations, layout of my house and everything else required to explain what my original installer did wrong and put together a list of equipment I actually needed. He also coached me in how to approach my original installer to demand that a correct system be installed at their expense and he assisted me in my follow up emails to the original installer. I have never worked with someone as friendly, honest and reliable as Larry! He volunteered his time and resources to help me with a problem that did not benefit him in any way. And as if that wasn't enough, after my original installer replaced the over-sized compressor with a correctly sized one, Larry sent two of his employees, Raul and Steve, who drove from their office in Visalia to me in Los Angeles (180 miles each way) to check the installation of the new system and to balance and commission it. They were the most professional, knowledgeable and pleasant technicians I have ever had in my home. They immediately made an excellent impression and continued to impress me the entire time they were in my home. They were there for over 4 hours, going over every aspect of my system. I offered them coffee and lunch, both which they politely declined. I offered to give them something for their time and gas, but that they also declined. I also offered to give Larry something for all the time he spent working with me, but he would not accept. I cannot believe how much time Larry and his team spent on my problem and would not take a dime from me - I don't know anyone else in their business who would do that! My only complaint is that their office is so far away. Unfortunately for me, I cannot hire them to maintain my system. If they were closer, I would make them my #1 HVAC company and would recommend them to everyone I know. I cannot thank you enough, Larry. You are a true gentleman and a professional who makes your industry look very good. Without your wonderful advice and assistance, I would still be living with an over-sized, extremely uncomfortable HVAC system. You are one of the few honest and truly ethical people out there who built a company and a reputation on knowledge, expertise and morality. So we bought our house this year in July, didn't even bother to look at the AC. We came over here thinking our bills would be cheaper since it's our own home and updated then our apartment. Superior Air, specifically Larry, was incredibly helpful. They assisted me with an installation performed by a different vendor, but worked tirelessly to help me get resolution. The other vendor had installed over-sized equipment for my home and Larry helped me reach resolution, which resulted in the other vendor replacing my equipment with properly sized equipment. This all started on 07-29-16. My wife is 8 months pregnant and it's over 100 degrees outside. My home warranty company, AHS, referred 3 A/C companies to my house. The first was Indoor Quality Services out of Fresno. They wanted $3-4k, with $1.7K coming out of my pocket. They said duct work modification needed to be done. I called BS and told AHS. AHS then sent 3-n-1 A/C out of Visalia. 3-n-1 no showed twice. I called AHS and got to pick my own company. After looking at Yelp, I called Superior. I called late Friday (8-5-16) and they were here on Monday. Superior quoted $850. I about fell over how cheap the quote was. I re-contacted AHS and told them Superior's price. AHS refused and told me it was too expensive. AHS said they were going to send Indoor Quality again. I told them that was the same company that wanted $3-4K. They still refused and wanted a second opinion, so they referred Fire and Ice A/C out of Fresno. That guy never called so when I called, he told me that he was going on vacation and won't be back for 3-4 days. I re-contacted AHS and pleaded with them to let me use Superior. I told them over and over my wife was due in a few weeks and I needed the A/C fixed. The day after, they finally authorized Superior to do the job after my wife called, again. My wife called Superior on Friday (8-12-16) and Paul from Superior was here early Monday morning. Paul was professional and had the A/C running by noon. Superior put the $65 diagnostic fee towards the total price. I was extremely satisfied with Superior Air's prompt service and professionalism. read more

My daughter and son in law called Superior Air, and because they were both at work, my husband drove across town to meet the service guy. When my husband arrived the company truck was already there, and the service man was in the backyard. My husband checked in with him, and let him know that he was there, and went in the house. A few minutes later our daughter got home. My husband let her know the guy was in the backyard. She went out there but he was gone. My husband questioned our daughter about the company truck, and she said there wasn't a truck there when she got home. She called the office and the woman who answered said the service guy reported nobody was there to meet him; our daughter explained that her father was there and spoke with the guy, but the woman insisted that he would not have made the call if he had indeed spoken to someone. Needless to say there was no rescheduled appointment. Dishonest people! Since this initial post Superior Air reached out to our daughter and wanted to make good on this call. They came out and fixed the air with no charge. So, the stepped it up. Great job! read more

Larry at Superior Air is truly amazing. I had a brand new HVAC system installed which was over sized. The original installing installer didn't do a proper load calculation to determine what size system I needed. I was seeking some help, so I decided to visit the HVAC Talk forum where I was referred to Larry. After a quick call, he asked that I email him a floor plan of the house so he could perform a full proper load calculation. Many emails exchanged after, it was determined that the system was definitely over sized, as well as the ducting that was installed being inadequate. Larry without even asking for a dollar and being about two hours away has been extremely responsive, kind and helpful. On top of that, he has offered to speak with the original installing contractor to get everything properly resolved for me. It's such a shame that he is not located closer, as I wish I had him install the system and service it. I've done hours of research on HVAC systems, and I can confidently say 90-95% of contractors don't have the knowledge and skill that Larry posses. Without a doubt, if you live within the Visalia area, and are in need of service or installation do yourself a favor and call Superior Air. One other thing to note, always insist on having a PROPER load calculation done (which Larry always does). Without this, the contractor is just blindly installing a system that can be either too little or too large. Contrary to belief, too large of a system is a huge mistake, not only does the system keep cycling, it creates too much static pressure in your ducts, and lessens the life of your equipment. read more

My system quit working over the weekend so I called right at 8:00 AM on Monday morning. I was a new customer for them and after getting all of my information they sent a tech out that same day. Even though my system was one not often worked on by the tech he took the time to research on line to get the correct information he needed from the manufacturer to repair the system correctly. After replacing a part it's up and running the first visit. I am a retired property manager and have worked with many HVAC companies over the years. Outstanding service! Technician that came out was really nice & polite, but very knowledgable, too. I ask a lot of questions and he didn't seem in a hurry to rush off, but was interested in helping me understand how the equipment actually works and how to use my a/c more efficiently. I had no idea that my unit is really old though and using a lot of electric. The technician gave me some options for the future with my current a/c, I never felt pressured to "just buy a new one" but when we do I will only call Superior Air. By the way never knew changing the filter monthly would help and turning the thermostat down instead of off would help save money on my Edison bill-thanks for the info Chris! read more

Superior Air was called out to fix our unit through our warranty company. Dispatcher was very rude every time we spoke. The technicians had a lack of knowledge of basic electrical terms and how the unit actually worked. My husband has worked on HVAC units for over ten years and when he tried explaining to them what the problem was they ignored him. We called our warranty provider and had another company come out since twenty minutes after Superior Air technicians left our AC unit went down again. I feel sorry for people who know little about their units and call Superior Air for repair service. They will get ripped off and treated poorly. read more

They found that my existing (broken) system was much too large for my area and that I need a 3 ton unit, not the 5 ton that was currently installed. The new unit works great and is cheaper to run. I think it only fair to note the service manager checked into my concerns and attempted to contact me (I was not available). The service manager did not cash my check but returned it. HVAC replacement/Superior Air, Visalia, CA SPEND A LITTLE, SAVE A LOT. If you are on the fence on whether or not to replace an older A/C unit or fix it, please read this. It could save you some money and heartache. I own a 17 year old home in Hanford CA. My A/C unit is a split system that would run constantly and never seem to keep up in the hot summer months. My electric bill was spiraling out of control and every year creeping higher and higher in kWh usage. My old unit had a history of burning up capacitors due to R22 coolant being low (leaky coils) which is very expensive to fill. I finally got smart and started calling for estimates on a replacement unit. Due to the age and inefficiency of my older unit it didn't make sense to fix it. This is where you need to do your homework. If you are planning on taking advantage of all the rebates and tax incentives available you have to be careful on what installer you choose. I have Southern California Edison (SCE) and Southern California Gas as providers for electric and gas. There are only two companies in my servicing area that are certified by SCE to allow me to take advantage of their rebate which is $1100.00 at the time of this posting. If you want to make this a painless process contact Superior Air in Visalia, CA. They are a SCE platinum Level A/C Quality Installation Contractor in the Central Valley. Larry (the owner) will propose different options to allow you to make a decision on what unit will best suit your needs. I opted for the "Carrier" Performance series package which is a seer 17 rating. It's pretty much the middle of the road unit without all the frills. It has made an INSTANT difference in our kWh usage. Bottom line. My electric bill has almost been cut in two. Their product SELLS ITSELF. You won't be disappointed. His company does everything for you including submitting all the paperwork for your rebates with the exception of the gas company rebate (they will give you the paperwork to sign and submit). It takes approximately 8 weeks to get your rebate back from SCE. The others come much sooner. Overall my experience with Superior Air was nothing short of OUTSTANDING. It's nice to have a company still around that focuses on top notch customer service and is available to answer any questions you may have even after the install is complete. read more

Very impressed with their prompt and quick response to my problem. The technician was extremely helpful and took the time to explain in detail what my problem was. I live @ 600 miles away from Superior Air and still Larry walked me through numerous issues I have had (and continue to have) with my air conditioner and the company that installed it. Larry had absolutely nothing to gain by explaining things to me but he has responded to probably close to 100 emails from me,in addition to a couple phone calls. Had my contractor answered my questions I would not have had to get on HVAC talk to inquire why the a/c was blowing so hard and why the humidity was so high, and that's where I met Larry. I probably asked the same questions over and over but he broke it down and answered them again and again until I understood. We discussed the commissioning report and he helped me to understand the critical pieces that the report gives. He alerted me to where he felt the information looked "off" and helped me to understand why. He made himself available even beyond business hours and I never felt I was imposing on him. If I lived in Visalia I definitely have my contractor take out the 2 month old air conditioner and hire Larry and Superior Air to install their equipment. I cannot express how blessed I am and how happy I am to have Larry in my corner. Our HVAC system was ancient and we knew it was not "if" but "when" it would finally stop working. Well, that happened last week on one of the hottest days of the summer. I called Superior Air the next morning and they sent a technician out nearly immediately to see what the problem was. As I requested, a sales manager came right out after the tech's inspection. We decided to replace instead of repair. Today was the day of installation. What a FANTASTIC job they did. This entire crew worked efficiently as a team, always on task, courteous, and really knew how to do the job right. They even cleaned up afterward!
