How lucky am I that I found such a place in walking distance from my house? Superior always gives me an honest assessment of my car at an affordable price. I never worry if I'm being taken advantage of. In fact, I know for certain I'm getting the best service at the best price. I once had Honda look at my 2003 Accord because the power steering fluid had leaked. They thought it was a good opportunity to try to upsell me into a new vehicle, so they quoted a $10,000 list of repairs and told me I'm better off moving on to a new car. I went to Superior to get a second opinion (which is now the first and only one I need), and they got all my work done for $1,800. I hesitant to try new places for my car worried about being taken advantage for over price services on my Jag and because I am a female. I completely embarrass myself occasionally by not checking my tank and running out of gas periodically (I spent too much time in the city without a car)... I'm not that bad but twice in one year is pretty horrible. I did just outside of Trenton, NJ while on the highway heading to a meeting in Philadelphia. I called AAA and they weren't able to dispatch someone to me for an hour, so, ran to google maps and hooked up with these guys. They were at my location within 20 minutes, gave me enough gas to get to the next gas station and then some at a reasonable price. Pros - Quick - Reasonably Priced Cons - I was terrified the technician was going to get hit by a car because he didn't turn on flashing emergency lights while filling up the tank. read more

HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, WASTE OF TIME, WASTE OF MONEY. Worst, most uncaring place we ever experienced in our lives. 0 stars is a better rating and that would be nice. My husband took his car there to get a small leak fixed. His car sat there for 4 weeks and when he got it back had the same issue. SAME LEAK. Paid over $1000. They said they would try to fix it again and did not even try. The truck did not move for weeks. Sat on it and said he went on vacation. When my husband would call they would tell him to come pick it up the way it was or wait to hear from the owner. Owner never called of course. Havnt spoke to owner once. His car is not the same. After it made it home, wouldn't start and was doing weird things. His truck is in worse shape than it was before he brought it there. Now it's stuck in the driveway, before he had a little leak that he wanted fixed. Unprofessional service manager not one phone call in 4 weeks with an update on car. We had to call once or twice a week to check in and get the same bs answers. They would not give my husband the owners phone number when he asked to contact someone else. Plan on bringing your car to another mechanic with more problems than you started with after leaving here. My truck is literally smoking and won't run the day after they told me they fixed my leak. After bringing my car there and taking it back 4 weeks later with the same problem, I realized that they blew my alternator also and didn't fix the main problem that I went in for originally. They had to jump start my new battery twice when I went to pick up my truck because it sat there for 4 weeks without moving. I have a car at home that sits for 6 months at a time and still starts first turn. Paid $1000 for more problems than I started with. Started with a leak, ended up with a dead battery that was brand new, dead alternator that was working great upon drop off, still the same leak I started with, a huge headache, $1098 less than I had before, and still have to go to a mechanic to have my leak fixed. 4 weeks later I'm fixing my truck in my driveway because I have to get it to a different mechanic. It wouldn't even start and and almost caught on fire in my garage after I brought it home from them. They had it running and ready to go for pickup of course, but wouldn't start when I turned it off and tried to start again. Shady, bad service, no one ever called me to take care of this issue. I love this place. All the guys are polite and courteous. 1I believe I've been a customer since 2005. Both my parents were customers. Jeff is great!!!He is a hands on owner and will personally check in or deal with any issue. Raj at the counter is great. He's always smiling and always makes me laugh. The rest of the crew as well. I have an old 06 BMW 3 series that was leaking coolant and decided to try and support our local auto shop and was not disappointed. They looked at my car and listened to me, which was a very good indication of the service. I am very satisfied with the repair and price was within my range so Im a happy camper. My car was good as new and they do check on you if everything was ok, which I think is standard for good customer service. They wont have a nice lounge, free coffee or loaner cars that the the dealers might give you but they get the job done. read more

I have never in my life felt so helpless as I watched these guys strategically rip me off. My first call of the day I was quoted at 325. But that immediately changed after we hung up, to 400 "due to a computer glitch". As the day went on the rising total went up to 500 then finally rested at 640. I had even asked at one point what it would take to just take my car to another shop and I was told since they had already done the work and everything was taken apart I had no choice but to pay the extra amount. Now that I do have a choice. I will not be taking my car to this establishment again. Please beware!! read more

Have spent $5,000+ here in less than a year on "repairs and service". After feeling duped on my latest $1,100 estimate, I had my car checked out at another shop. They charged $160 and performed the service which was supposed to already have been done by Superior. I feel robbed of my money. I don't like feeling like someone has taken advantage of me and believe that was the case here. Do your homework and seek multiple quotes. You might find yourself in a similar situation. Update: I have been in contact with the owner since posting this review and he's refunded all payment related to the AC and oil pan. I still wouldn't few comfortable taking my car here again but I do think it's worth mentioning that the owner wanted to make amends for these text actions. read more

They did an oil change on my car a few weeks back. Nothing crazy...just a routine oil change. I honestly thought that would be the last time I heard from them until I needed something else done with my car. Well...I thought wrong! They are sending me notes in the mail and emailing me constantly! It is very annoying. If you do not want to be harassed, do NOT take your car here! They of course tried to upsell me as well, telling me all the things I needed to do next time I came in and how I should get a warranty from a company they deal with. No thank you! My last few visits for servicing 3 of my vehicles have been an exceptional experience. drove into superior auto last week to get a tire for my car. I was very happy with the service and the availability of my tire size. The staff were friendly, informative, and seem to have all their stuff together. Very convenient to get to, its a large open lot in front of the store on rt 130 north, so you can pull right in and park. It is set back in a good sized open lot that is well lit with a big sign you can see easily. I have to admit I was extremely annoyed when I found out that the same exact tire I had replaced with them caught another flat AGAIN, and just within 7 days! Coincidence? THEN, upon getting a nd tire put on, I had a dip in my rim that had to be fixed before getting a second tire put on. They did quality work and were knowledgeable. Would give them more stars if I could!!!! While driving from Fl to MA via the NJ Turnpike we had a wheel bearing problem. We limped off the turnpike and stopped at the first automotive place we saw. The gentlemen could not help us but referred us to Superior Automotive. Obviously, we dd not have an appointment but despite their busy schedule, the employees took our truck in and diagnosed the problem in a relatively short time. I sent my daughter to Superior for her first oil change, because I knew that I wouldn't have to supervise the appointment. Called these guys up on a Friday afternoon and they offered to take a look and do there best to get it done. I had a bad experience at Superior Automotive. I scheduled an appointment with Rob after explaining to him that my wife's Range Rover Sport needed an oil change and was showing a "suspension fault" on the dashboard. He said they have a lot of experience with Land Rover and will be able to fix the issue. I dropped the vehicle off the morning of my appointment. I called around 2p to get an update on the vehicle and Rob said he was waiting on pricing and would call me back before the end of the day. No one called so I called the following morning. I was told it would need a Solenoid, would cost $1200, and would be complete before the end of the day. I told him that was fine. I wasn't able to get there before they closed so I went over Friday morning at 10a. When I arrived Rob told me the part they ordered was defective and the car isn't ready. He apologized for not calling me. He said the car would be ready before they closed that day. I called that afternoon to confirm it was ready for pickup. I was told that a lift went down for 4 hours so the car would not be ready until Saturday. On Saturday morning Rob left a message for me to call him at the shop. When I returned the call I was told Rob left. I spoke to Andrew and he said the car required "programming" and the programmer would not be in until Monday or Tuesday. I called back on Monday and was informed Rob no longer works there. Seuraj explained to me that they aren't sure what the car needs but it could need a compressor and he would call me back. I called back at 5:30 but Seuraj left for the day. I called Tuesday morning and Seuraj said the programmer can't fix my car and only the dealer can calibrate it. Superior put the original Solenoid back in. I arrived to pick up the vehicle at 5p on Tuesday and after paying $242 for an oil change and diagnostic I see that the vehicle was sitting very low because they bled all the air out of the suspension making it underivable. I asked Seuraj if it's stuck that way and he said "looks like it." I had the vehicle towed to Land Rover from Superior this morning and I'm driving a rental car. 10 years ago the Midas in East Windsor totaled my Pathfinder in a 3 car collision. I would recommend that Midas over Superior any time. read more

Took my vehicle there for an activated check engine light. I had a good idea what had caused it to activate and relayed that suspicion to them when I dropped it off. My vehicle is older but is well maintained (mostly at the dealer). I went to Superior in hopes of avoiding paying high end dealer prices, which I've seen Superior advertise on their marquee. The long and short of this is that they called me back recommending $3500 in repairs. I asked how much to just repair what my original complaint was. That was $2700. I told the guy I wasn't interested in spending that much. He then began a real hard sales pitch telling me the car would eventually stop, how they can help me finance the repair, and how repairing you car is an investment. He treated and pressured me like I was a 18 year old kid buying my first car at a used car dealer. The sales pitch turned me off. I told him I'd pick the car up, pay the diagnostic charges and sleep on their estimate. He then tried one more sales pressure technique by telling me he couldn't discount the diagnostic charges if I brought the car back another day. I wasn't worried because I'm never coming back. A real business would welcome me getting a second opinion and returning back to get the work done. Not Superior. They were more interested in selling unnecessary "lifetime guaranteed" work and coercing me to having the work done that day with the silly notion that they wouldn't credit my $100 diagnostic charge if I didn't have the work done that day, I suspect they work on commission because that is the type pressure that was applied to me. I had an issue with my car overheating and brought it here for service. They told me it was a water pump issue and I spent $800 for the repair, My car continued to leak antifreeze and they said it was an "air gap" in the system and topped it off. It continued to leak, so I brought it back and they told me there was now pulley damage for the serpentine belt, damage to the oil dip stick, that i shouldn't dive the car and that they couldn't actually diagnose the leak issue, but it might be a head gasket issue and said I should take it to a dealer.Makes me wonder if I truly needed the water pump in the first place. Anyhow the dealer inspected the car and found that they used the wrong antifreeze when they did the flush and fill after the water pump, and as I thought I don't have an oil dipstick in this car, it is electronically monitored. Seems these guys shouldn't work on Audi Q5's or maybe any other car for that matter. The guy in the office is a nice guy but the mechanics are inept, stay away. read more

This place is 27 minutes from our house and well worth the drive. My husband usually brings our jeep in for regular oil changes/ tire rotations. One time we had to get an oil change done in the middle of vacation and another auto-place tried to con my husband into replacing spark plugs although we thought we'd already replaced them with Superior Automotive. We gave Superior Automotive a quick call and they'll promptly confirmed we had. We also frequently receive coupons and discounts in the mail around the time of needed service which is great and I believe this past month we even got a holiday card.
