I was driving home from work Thursday night and heard grinding from my brakes, since I'm new to the areas I searched where I can go to get my brakes checked and repaired. this is the worst Mavis I have ever been to. I went yesterday and got two new tires for my Mercedes 2003 E 500 OK they were supposed to do it properly. The guy they my tires did not do them properly my back tire is and my front tire and my was stranded on the road for like 30 minutes by herself whatever they're doing over there ridiculous. Do not go to this Mavis I would say again do not go to this Mavis they're just gonna take your money and do a crappy job because they're all retarded. Wish I could give them a lower rating then one star. Brought in four brand new wheels, for having tires mounted and balanced. After the service I saw that they had completely chipped the side of the wheel inserting the tire stem. When I brought it the workers attention I got a half remarked "sorry" and they walked away. I asked a different employe for a manager which I was informed there was none on shift. They made a call and told me I would be contacted the next day. To no ones surprise they never contacted me. They destroyed a $650 wheel with no compensation. I'm never going back here again read more

I dropped my car of for a wheel balancing and they finished within 30 minutes. I've been taking my car here for 8 years now and every time I go I truly feel taken care of rather than conned like I used to at other tire and car shops. I used to take my old van here when they used to be STS several years ago and was pretty happy with their services. Plus they were conveniently located to where i live. Last week I went to have my tire repaired as it had a nail in it. I could see the nail clearly and was expecting it to be a fairly straightforward job. Imagine my shock when I get a call saying that this was not fixable as the nail was too close to the sidewall. The recommendation was to replace the tire, and oh btw, since it was an AWD vehicle, all 4 tires had to be replaced. Total estimate, $700-1000!!!! I asked them to just put put on the spare and not do anything else. I then took it to another shop that fixed the flat in 15 minutes for a whopping $20!!! So, I can't help but conclude that this is a pretty dishonest outfit. Don't believe i will ever visit this place again. read more

Incompetent, not trustworthy and completely unprofessional. Save yourself the worry of bad work and the irritation of being treated poorly and/or ripped off. I have twice had to return immediately after having work done -- once when my new tires deflated on my driveway because the valve stems were incorrectly installed, and once when I was called back to the store (after driving half an hour on the highway) because "we forgot to put a bolt back in place" when new brake pads were installed, but "it's probably safe." Neither time was I offered any sort of compensation or even a sincere apology. Check their math and question what they say needs to be done. I'm not sure if they just feel like they can rip off women, or whether they take advantage of everybody. They are the worst. Save yourself, your money and your vehicle. read more

I took my car here for an oil change, and I asked them to also check tires for a possible rotation and see if my brake pads still looked good. They did the oil change, and they said my tires lookEd good, but my rear brake pads needed to be changed. They quoted me at a price of over $500. I said no and left with just the oil change instead. Around a week later, I took it to a more trusted garage which I wasn't able to use the week before because they were busy. They said that they had a hard time taking my lug nuts off due to rust. That wasn't Mavis's fault, but it proves that Mavis never removed my tires to look at the brake pads. And when my trusted garage looked at the brake pads, they said they were perfectly fine. I am never going to Mavis again. read more

Supervisor Fredi is an individual who leads by example. His work ethic, how he treats me, how I see him treat customers, and the way I see him interact with co-workers is the definition of courtesy and professionalism. On several occasions, Fredi expressed his concern for my safety when inspecting my vehicle and explained why I needed to have repairs done. He also does as much as he can to save customers on costs if he can fix a part instead of completely replacing it. I recall one morning dropping my vehicle off at Hamilton Square Mavid, giving Fredi the keys. When I saw him later that day to pay for the services, he had a severe burn on his arm. He explained that he attempted to fix a ceased/frozen caliper, and amid the repair, his forearm touched metal, and he burned his arm. Instead of going home, he cleaned the injury, wrapped it, and continued work on the vehicle. I can provide other instances of Fredi's leadership, but I'll say this. The shop isn't perfect, but I'm sure people have issues. Still, with the administration of Fredi and the staff I've interacted with at this location, I'll continue to visit. However, if Fredi ever leaves this location, I and all vehicles I get serviced leave with him. Fredi is an absolute asset to this location. read more

Sad and ignorant worker skillsets. Won't change tires on a Tesla, after a week of assuring us it would be no problem, because they "don't actually know how, seems really hard and dangerous" when the time came to do the work. Or "our jacks are old and they could break with that car" and "Tesla's have batteries and it could slip off the jack and cause a huge fire." Dinosaur level ignorance. Other customers waiting in lobby were back because "balancing was off the car wobbles." So I guess even on "regular cars" that meet their delicate sensibilities their work is top notch. They don't trust themselves not to mess up without their manager holding their hand, which is an awful position to be in as a manager I'd imagine. I went in to get an alignment on a f150 that I don't really use too much. I also was going to have two used tires put on the car that I was supplying since two that were on the car needed changed. I go into the location tell them what I need and they tell em sorry we can't mount used tires it's a new Policy. If you ask me it a dumb policy because now they also lose other business because I was going to get an alignment as well!! I have used this location a good amount of times in the past for new tires and alignments on other vehicles I own. I will no longer ever be going to a Mavis tire. An inopportune flat tire brought me here last weekend. But I'm at fault, I knew my tires needed replacing and hoped to eek out another month on them. So instead of shopping around for deals beforehand, I had to find somewhere very local and very quick. I did attempt to purchase at another nearby competitor, but I was put off a bit by that shop and the fact that my tire was not in stock. That seemed to be the theme for that day. Of the 3-4 places open on a Sunday, no one had my tire in stock. Mavis did not either, but Jake was so friendly and even called another Mavis nearby to see if they might have it. Sadly they did not so it had to be ordered. He did have his crew put my donut on for me and we made an appt to complete the change. My car was ushered in as soon as I arrived for my 10am. And it was done by noon as estimated( alignment as well) The waiting room is fairly spartan, and there are no amenities such as you might find at a car dealership, but the job got done for much less than a dealership would charge. Once completed, John called me to the desk and told me about the Mavis credit card and that my purchase qualified for a rebate through it. The 0% apr for 6 months and $80 rebate was just what I needed. He showed great customer service the whole time I was in the waiting room, and engaged in someway with everyone he dealt with. I did notice that several of the folks in for repairs or changes were repeat customers, that's a good sign. I would not hesitate returning for tires or even for other services or repairs. read more

Great professional shop, I had a wheel alignment done by them and they kept the appointment time, did the job quickly and professionally and for a reasonable price. Nice guys too. After the wheel alignment my car drove much better and steering wheel felt way more solid. That means safer driving. The worst place ever. They don't care here. Brought my car in with a run flat tire that was flat. The first thing is the woman who was there just keeps looking at the computer when she talks to you. The next thing she says they don't fix run flats okay. Ask a few questions and order a new tire on Sunday. The tire was suppose to be in on Tuesday. I get a call on Monday the service tech says the tire won't be there until Thursday. Ok. I call Thursday, the same woman from Sunday says oh that got cancelled because we couldn't get. Never called me, never even made an effort after I told her your service stinks to rectify it in anyway. read more

I was having a reoccurring air pressure issue with my front driver's side tire and I drove to Mavis Tire on Rt.33 this morning. I got there a few minutes before 8 and waited for them to open. It turns out the problem was with the valve stem. They fixed that issue and made sure all my tires had the correct air pressure and when I stepped up to the counter to pay, I was told I didn't owe anything! $0 and I was home by 8:35. I love Mavis Tire, I won't go anywhere else. They do quick, dependable work, are good with their pricing and do not try to upcharge you. I recommend them highly! read more

I had 4 new tires put in in April. Went over a curb and got a flat. They wanted 160 for another tire no discount nothing. They put donut on and forced bolt and ruined it. Had the unfortunate visit on super bowl Sunday due to a 3 inch nail lodged into my rear drivers side tire. After waiting until 9:30A at Mr. Tire, with three other customers, for them to open we drove a mile down the road and had a pleasant experience. Very friendly man at the front desk said after checking my tire he can patch it right up. Great news. My girlfriend and I ran down to Donut Time and picked up a savory snack then got the call that my car was ready for pick up. $20 and an hour later she was good as new. read more

Had an oil change done. They did it while I waited very quick. All good. When I got home about 5 minutes away I got a call from the manager. He said they noticed a spot of oil where they had parked my car and they wanted to double check their work. I drove back up and they redid the whole oil change. The filter was faulty and it could have led to me being stuck with no oil left and my driveway ruined. So thankful they took the extra step to call and have me come back. Some places would have avoided the appearance of them making a mistake. They did the right thing regardless. I will continue to use them because of this interaction! I stopped in yesterday morning after the low pressure tire light came on in my car and I had unsuccessfully attempted to put air in it myself at a gas station. It turned out that there was nothing wrong with my tire, I had positioned the air hose wrong and was actually letting air out of my tire. The super nice guy at the desk filled my tire with air and told me to come back if it did not hold. Well, the pressure was fine after that, so I am sure it was just my mistake in not filling it right on my own. There was an hour wait for them to look at my tire, and I think the young man at the desk had a feeling based on our conversation that perhaps I had not done a good job filling the tire on my own and decided it was a good idea to check the pressure and try to fill it himself before letting me wait an hour. That kind of honesty and genuine kindness isn't commonly found. He could have easily let me sit there an hour and charge me to look at my tire only to find no damage, instead what I found at Mavis, was a kind, professional person who was happy to help me get on my way. I would 100% go back there with any tire issue and would tell everyone I know to go there as well. Great customer service. read more

It has been a few years since I went to Mavis Discount Tire for tire service. In the past, I wasn't thrilled with the prices or service, but today I had to stop by to see if they could patch my tire. It was 4:45 on a Friday and I had doubts but the service manager was great and they squeezed me in. very disappointed in the service I went there to get an oil change and a tire rotation on my car and I talked with the manager Eugene and so he did a oil change and tire rotation and he came in and said I my battery is not all that stronghe said would you like me to put a battery in it and I said no just wait and I'm thinking the car is only two years old. My battery is a 760 cold cranking amps and it measured 392 cold cranking amps and the voltage was 12.61 volt.so I went down the street to AutoZone and had them test it and everything passed on it and it was putting it out a voltage of 14.7 so I did not need a new battery and I'm just wondering how many other people they scammed for tires brakes shocks batteries etc very disappointed and I will never go back to any of the stores especially the one on route 33 in Hamilton township thank you read more

Terrible. Scammers. I went in to have tire patched, nail in tread not sidewall..they told me that it can't be patched and I need new tire. He tried also to sell me some garbage off Brand tire. I know a lot about cars and I even almost got taken. I went to Mr. Tire right down the street and they patched the tire with no problem. Also seems as if you are calling a local shop but it's a call center that knows nothing about what's happening in shop. Had my brakes replaced in January of this year. six months later, I notice the rear passenger side scrubbing. Took tire off and noticed that the caliper was in such bad shape and the inside rotor was in real bad shape. Had no brake pad left due to rotor being so bad. I would have thought that this would have been something that would have been brought to my attention in January. There is no way the caliper and rotor got in that bad a shape in 6 months. I can't say enough good things about these guys. Let's just face it--- taking your car for a repair is not like going out for sushi. It can be quite painful and upsetting. Sean (Shawn?) did a great job finding the tire I was needing. Unfortunately they couldn't do anything about the warranty since it not a flaw in the tire or their work. They did a great job getting the work done quickly. I felt good about bringing my work to them since they have repeatedly repaired my snow blower and wheel barrow tire for free. STAY FAR AWAY! Check engine light came on in March and went to this Mavis. Spent $250 for the fix and when I went to pick it up the check engine light was still on. I went back in and told the employee and he said it'll automatically turn off. It didn't. Went to the Mavis in pennington because a friend worked there that I trust. He wasn't in that day and they had someone else "fix" it. Told me it was the coils and replaced them for $900. Now it's May and I'm having to go to the new AAA because of the same issues and they are telling me my coils are bad. The ones that should have been replaced the first time. So I'm out yet another $800. Please stay far away from this place. Their staff are scam artists. read more

Have taken almost all of our vehicles to the Hamilton Square NJ location for oil changes. One of vehicles started throwing a TPMS code. Came in on a Sunday morning 15 minutes after they opened after calling the night before and being told they could check on Sunday morning. Waited a half hour after being told by Graham the manager that he would "get to it when he wasn't busy." After waiting a half hour, we started going back to the desk to ask how much longer, since he wasn't doing anything, but before we could ask he ran through the shop door. We thought he was checking on something in the shop, but he actually went outside to have a cigarette. So much for getting to us when he "had a break" from being busy. We will never go back for anything there. He was just screwing with us....if you don't want to check it for us, just tell us. Don't have us sitting there like fools when you have no intention of "getting to it." read more

The last time I was here the entire team had changed and they were short staffed. I was in for a regular oil change and tire rotation. I've been a customer at this location for about 9 years, so I was surprised when I no longer received prompt service. Also, the waiting room has a ton of ants and it just felt like people no longer cared about keeping it clean. It makes sense now, when I went it was still "STS" but it was on its way out. Now that it's Mavis I won't be returning. I checked out Sabo Automotive down the street and it's like I was back at the old STS. Very good service and a more than reasonable price. read more

Brought my car in for new tires and an oil change. I sat in the waiting room for 3 hours while 6 employees who look like teenagers screwed around in the garage the entire time. Once in awhile they work on a car including mine. This garage is very unprofessional and needs a manager to control it. I won't be returning again. I have had good experiences and service here but as some reviews have suggested I do keep my eye on things and don't blindly trust them. When I/we first started going there a few years back, they gave me fair deals, avoided doing unnecessary work (even talked me out of work I thought I needed), service times were good and reasonable, were friendly, professional etc. and I felt confident about going there. But then we brought in a car with a screw in the tread for repair. They said it wasn't repairable and were going to install a new tire. A senior management person came out and took a look and realized the screw was only the head and didn't actually puncture the tire and ordered the tech to take the new tire off and use the old tire, at no charge. If he hadn't come out to look, we would have been charged for a new tire. This impressed me but also caused me some concern as you can imagine. Makes me think something else is going on there. So I still use them but keep an eye on them to see that the work suggested is needed and fair. I still think they are good but don't fully trust them which is a normal way to approach business dealings when your money is involved. read more

Terrible. Scam artists. Don't believe the BS advertisements. I would not trust these guys to do anything. I called local shop # and was unknowingly router to some national call center. This guy tells me come right over, its not busy and gave me a quote to fix flat. I get there and the guy tells me its going to be 1.5 hours. Also price was going to be over double what I was quoted. They also told me that they plug and not patch -which is very unprofessional. When I called corporate, the guy took me right in- I was still in parking lot. THEN, they tell me that this tire can't be repaired and I have to buy a new one. So, went down the street to Mr.Tire and got the tire patched (professionally)...wow, I didn't need a new tire!! I know cars and do a lot of my own stuff, so they would have trouble "getting over" on me but I feel bad for anyone who didn't do their homework before walking in there. read more

My tire pressure sensor light was on and I called asking if they would add some air in or take some air out of my tires. John said to come by and they'd take a look. He knew who I was as soon as I walked in the door and told me to pull up to the garage. Tom checked the air in all of my tires and made sure they were the right pressure. I was good to go in 5 minutes and they didn't charge me a dime. I was missing some valve caps and they even replaced those for me too! Excellent customer service and very friendly!!
