My wife and I received a goose-down comforter from Macy's for our wedding from our employer last…read moreyear. It was over a 1,000 dollar comforter. Key word is WAS... So we decided since it had been a year, we would get it cleaned. Little did we know that Porter's would ruin the most expensive gift that we received and on top of it all, charge us 85 dollars to ruin it. The comforter was dropped off at the Mansfield Rd location. When I received the text to get it, we rushed up there because we missed our comforter. We pick it up and drive back home. We get it out of the package and unfold it. All the feathers are on the bottom half and the top half is flat. First thing to tick me off. Somebody had to handle it to fold it and you don't have the guts to tell us that it went in even and fluffy and comes out looking the way it did. You just charge us 85 dollars, take our money and let us walk away with it thinking that everything is fine. So we get back in the car and drive back up. The lady at Mandsfield Rd (really nice and apologetic...maybe Linda Crawford at Porter's could take a lesson from her, but more on that in a minute) said she would tag it for a re-do. 5 days later, text comes through that it is ready. It's Friday afternoon and we are close, so we swing by. We also check it this time and the nice lady tells us there is a note. She reads it. I really wish now I had gotten a picture of the note. It basically stated that the feathers went to the bottom but could not go back to the top because the squares were sewn down. Now I am not a rocket scientist, but I can tell you this, if the damn squares were sewn down how in the hell did they make it to the bottom? I guess wet feathers only travel one way. The note also said that it was not goose-down but it was micro-fiber. The pictures in the comments I am going to put proves that is a lie. At this point we are devastated and read that sometimes you can put the comforter in a dryer with tennis balls and it will balance itself out. So we drive straight to a laundry mat and try this. It did not work. So we wait through the weekend. Monday morning my wife calls the home office on Benton Rd and talks to Linda Crawford. She explains to Linda everything I just typed out. Linda's response..."That sucks". THAT SUCKS??? REALLY??? It more than sucks. So Linda tells my wife that she would talk to someone and get back to her in the afternoon. My wife calls back late in the afternoon and Linda is nowhere to be found evidently. She leaves a message for Linda to call back. I then pick up the phone and call 318-742-1097. This number gives you a directory. I type in MAR for Mark Porter. He does not answer. I leave a message for him to call me because nobody seems to be able to call my wife back. We wait until late Tuesday morning and my wife calls and gets a hold of Linda. I still have never heard back from Mark Porter BTW. Linda tells her to call the plant manager. She then calls Russell Hall at 318-638-4228. Russell then proceeds to give her some of the same BS that was left on the note and adds that if they don't feel comfortable cleaning something, then they will not...So I guess if you are trying to cover your back side, then what you are telling my wife is that in 30+ years of business, we brought Porter's the very first goose-down comforter to be dry cleaned??? He also is a comforter guru, because he states that it was a manufacturer defect. How he came to that conclusion, I have no idea. Bottom line from Russell is that I signed a release giving them the right to screw the comforter up and then charge us 85 dollars and hand it over like there is nothing wrong with it. We are still in shock. I will post this to every review board for everyone to see how piss poor this was handled from beginning to end by everyone at Porter's (except for the nice lady at Mansfield Rd. See pics in comments for proof of how horrible Porter's is. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH ANYTHING YOU OWN. My wife will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I needed 2 blazers dry cleaned with a quick turnaround. I picked up my items the day after dropping…read morethem off. I inspected my items and was disappointed to see that both blazers were poorly done. Specifically, Porter's had put deep creases in the lapels of both blazers. Lapels should be roll pressed only. Also, the tech laid the lapels over the breast pockets while pressing. This created an outline of the pocket on the lapel. These are amateur missteps that are really inexcusable, especially in light of the exorbitant, over-the-top prices. My usual cleaners is Azaleas, and I will not deviate again. There's nothing "fine" about Porter's Dry Cleaning.
