My AC malfunctioned on a hot day causing water to leak into the attic floor and it came out of my ceiling. I caught it in time! I filed a claim with my insurance company- State Farm - who referred me to two big water damage mitigation vendors - ServePRO and ServiceMaster. ServePRO told me I would need the ceiling removed before they even came out to see the damage. They did a visual inspection, used no meters and did not go into the attic and said the whole thing needed to be removed. They were a "preferred vendor." ServePRO also said I would need other contractors for the reconstruction work and that would take at least a few weeks. And ServiceMaster demanded an asbestos test before they even did anything which would add weeks. Dave and Santos from Flood Relief Inc did both visual and electronic meter inspections, and they found the water had been confined to one small area and never reached the walls. They also inspected the floor and found it was also fine since I caught the leak in time. (ServePRO was trying to take photos of the floor when I told them there was no damage there!) Luckily, FloodRelief concluded the damage was so minimal that no ceiling areas needed to be removed. They are able to treat the area with antimicrobial agents and dry the structure with huge fans and dehumidifiers. They also told me the job was so small that they wouldn't even need charge me what the deductible was for the insurance claim so I was able to cancel the claim. This was a very honest move since they would have been paid much more by my insurance company if they had recommended removal. These two gentlemen also came right away when I called and were so friendly and respectful and professional. I am extremely grateful to these honest guys who saved me money, time and sanity. They put me at ease during a stressful situation. I was very impressed with their stellar service! Out of 10, FloodRelief, Inc. is an 11.

Even the insurance company was impressed. Highly recommend.  About 4 months ago, my parents were out of the country on a month-long trip. About 2 weeks into their trip, my brother and I discovered that their entire first floor was flooded due to a high-pressure leak in a downstairs bathroom. Based on some outside surveillance footage and meter information, we estimated that it had been leaking a few thousand gallons a day for 3-4 days. My brother and I were just dumbstruck and overwhelmed by what this meant for the house. All the hardwood flooring, walls, base moldings, cabinetry, furniture had all been soaking for days. Water was literally seeping out through all the outer walls of the house. The formal living room, which is situated a step down and is about 5 inches lower than the rest of the house, had become a reflecting pool holding about 1000 gallons of water. (I'll try to include pictures) My brother did a google search and we found Dave, and we're really glad we did. Despite that it was already Friday evening, he arrived within the hour. As soon as he got out of his van, he was focused on taking away our stress and calmly informed us about the next steps and what we could expect throughout the process. He immediately took control of the situation and he and his team worked tirelessly through the evening and late into the night to vacuum up all the free water. And he was back bright and early the next day.  Throughout the next week or so, Dave and his team thoroughly dried the walls and the floors and demolished and pulled out whatever wasn't salvageable. They were meticulous and cleaned as they went and tried to make it as comfortable for me as possible since I decided to stay over while all of this was going on. They found some mold as well as a dead colony of bees, a dead bird, and some trash from the initial builders inside of our walls and he carefully cleaned and remediated as needed. Dave dealt with the contents company, the environmental inspection firm (checking for mold), and our insurance company so that it was pretty effortless and seamless for us.  From what we could tell, Dave was a consummate professional. That was further confirmed by our insurance company. Once Dave's work was completely finished, the insurance company sent out an adjuster and a contractor to inspect and to complete their estimates. Dave was there to help answer their questions since he knew the layout and the problems better than any of us at that point. After Dave left, they commented that his work was really thorough and that they could tell Flood Relief Inc was really trustworthy and top-notch. So... even the professionals were impressed. To top it all off, despite that Dave's company finished its work at my parents house in October of 2017, because of some delays from the insurance company, Dave only just got paid this month in February 2018. Dave was patient and never bothered us personally with this. We're so grateful that we had Dave during what could've been an otherwise very stressful time. Allow me to start by saying that the ladies who cleaned were very nice and did a great job…read more... However....I called the owner Servando to get a quote. I told him # of bedrooms, # of bathrooms, and square footage of the apartment. He told me that 3 cleaners would come and it should take 1-1.5 hours @ $100/hr. Cool. We scheduled for middle of the day on a Friday. To prep, we picked up all the clutter, stacked the couches on the area rug so they could quickly mop the hardwood, and did everything possible to make their job easier and quicker. 45 minutes after their scheduled arrival time, nobody shows.....I call and text Servando. He said they were held up and were on their way. An hour and 5 minutes after their scheduled start time, they arrive.......but there's only 2 cleaners :( After an hour and 45 minutes, I called Servando and asked for a discount because there was 1 less cleaner than he promised and it was taking longer because of that. His response, "It doesn't matter how many cleaners there are, it's the same amount of work".......WHAT!?!?!! That's not how math works, my friend. He was pretty rude and I could tell he didn't want to deal with me, so he tells me to ask the main cleaning woman, so I ask her. She tells me to call Servando..... :-/ In the end, I paid $200 for 2 hours and 10 minutes of cleaning.....and wasted an extra 2 hours between waiting for them to arrive and not having enough cleaners to get the job done in a timely manner. Most likely wouldn't hire again...
