Everything is always top quality and the customer service is by far some of the best I have had at a butcher. Their recommendation are always on point and they even will provide you ice packs on request for your freezer bag if you are going to be doing some shopping or have a decent drive back home. I love that they are well knowledgeable about all the products and take the time if you ask to explain the differences in the meats and how they should be cooked for the best experience. If you are ever by the grove or farmers market ask for Brandon (likes to go by B) or Byron they are always willing to help and make sure you are more than satisfied with your purchase. The great thing about them is that they are father (Byron) and son (Brandon) which means they are passing down the skill set and knowledge regarding butchery and meats. If you are in the area or have the means to travel I definitely recommend supporting this establishment at least for your ultra premium, exotic, or seasonal meats.

They also had some extras that saved us a grocery run like rice paper, radish wrap, brisket sauce, garlic/jalapeños with ssamjang, and green onion salad. They deliver on Tuesdays/Thursdays in OC so keep that in mind (and deliver to other parts too, just check their website). You can get free delivery if you spend $200 or more. That did not make sense to us. If the order could be adjusted to $300, then it should have been prepared as a $300 order from the beginning, since that was exactly what we requested. It should not be prepared over our requested amount first and then presented to us as though bringing it back down to $300 was a separate option. Our issue was not simply the price difference. We were asking why the amount had been increased beyond what we requested without first getting our approval. Before preparing more than the requested amount, it would have been very easy to simply ask us. We were standing right there and could have made that decision before it was prepared. They later offered us cheaper meat to "make up" for the situation, but that did not resolve the issue for us. We are not local and were traveling, and this was a gift set we were bringing to friends who live locally. Extra meat that could not be included in the gift set was not useful to us. When placing the order, we specifically told them that we needed it the same day and asked whether they could do that. They said yes. Later, however, the staff repeatedly emphasized that they normally require advance notice and that they were already doing us a favor by preparing it the same day. If same-day preparation was going to be a problem, they should have simply told us that when we placed the order. We would have gone somewhere else. What made this experience unpleasant was not the money itself. It was the lack of clear communication and the way the situation was handled afterward. Once a business agrees to an order and a requested timeframe, the customer should not later be made to feel as though they are being done a favor for something the business already agreed to provide. And if an order is going to exceed the amount the customer requested, the business should confirm that before preparing it, not afterward.
