After a grub fest at Norms across the way, Mom, Hubbers and I decided to make a stop here for a walk and burn off some calories! Similar to the one closer to home, they carry similar items. Aisles are organized and clean. Good selection of produce and frozen items. They do carry some brand name items with competitive pricing. Check out was also quick and easy. Good first run. While I do like this store and location and haven't had any real issues with customer service. My reason for giving it a 3 star is far more important. I noticed that the Carson location is charging double for some items. Especially in the home section. I was at the Aldi store on Crenshaw in Torrance and notice this store was charging $13.99 for the 3 in one heater/humidifier and the Carson store is charging $35.99 for the same product. Now I'm wondering about other possible up charges at the Carson location and on guard and will be paying more attention to the prices read more

I love Aldi. My family will tell you my favorite saying is, "Don't sleep on Aldi!" Pricing great! Store clean! Variety of goods! They always have a good price on fresh produce. My family loves the fresh pizzas and the packaged salads. I go here to get my onions, potatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, ginger and rosemary. I try new products weekly. 90% of the time they are really good. For instance they have really good bread, beef jerky, almond crackers, ketchup and sun dried tomatoes. The smoked salmon is delicious and they have good prices on chicken and frozen vegetables. Aldi's thin lemon cookies are addicting. The cashiers are friendly and helpful. This is my number one store. I have the flu now and going there for raw honey, fresh ginger and bags of lemons. The quality is amazing for the prices. The staff is very nice and professional. People tripping over a quarter??? Yes, you need a quarter to get a cart but if you don't have one the cashier will gladly give you one. The store and their bathrooms are always clean. Good wine selections and the "ALDI Finds" keeps me always wanting to stop by and check out whats new. This place has horrible customer service. The female checkout person that I have to deal with is also the manager on duty. She gave me wrong information didn't want to admit she did. She overcharged me for some items, and when I looked at my receipt before I left, I noticed she overcharged me, went back to her line and as soon as I got back to her line and told her I needed a refund for the cookie she overcharged me. She said she's closed then she told another coworker that she's going outside. I had to get in another line to do the refund. What horrible service! I would never shop here. read more

The manager said they refund you if not satisfied with their Aldi brand. Some items are a great deal. Some are a few cents savings. Some are the same price as elsewhere. Very nice cashiers and staff. We tried the pizza and hated it. I had some of their salads, and they were good. I didn't really end up with much of their items because I didn't need to go grocery shopping at the time. I really liked the pickle de gallo though. Yummmm All their produce signs were off though. Looks like they sold out of things and didn't take the signs off. It's a new store, so I think they're still getting the hang of things. We'll come back to try it again read more

Aldi's haves good prices on veggies, produce, and several other items. The customer service LACKS A LOT. Always only one checker and a long line . Other employees are always either in hiding, stocking , never willing in assisting with the customers or the line ! Eighteen people in line from register, as far as I could see to count. While others were wrap around the aisle with the line steady growing. Ask the checker is this what we are doing AGAIN. Would you call for help.. It's a nice little grocery store on the northwest side of the mall. There is no access from inside the mall so you'll want to park over on that side where the entrance is (left side facing the mall from Avalon). Produce and breads are up first as you enter along with some "quick heat" type meals (not frozen). The back has your dairy and then there are four aisles of various goods. 'Tips From The Top' - if you see something you like, go ahead and get it because it might not be there next time. Some of the products they carry will be there and then vanish and maybe be there again later. They have signs telling you, if you see it, get it. Some items are priced okay but others are a really good bargain. The store is small enough and never really crowded so it's easy to walk each aisle and see what you see. Frozen goods are way over on the other side. The store stays neat and clean and check-out lines move fairly quickly. Here, you bag your own bought goodies. read more

It's a German supermarket with a few little extra items from time to time, some items are much cheaper than other stores, others are only a few cents less, it's also one of those stores that you need to get it when you see it, some items are regularly stocked others are special buys and not everything is restocked regularly. Vegetables are fresh, good selection of frozen items. Give them a trymif you are in the area, staffnis very friendly. You will also need a quarter to rent a shopping cart, prices vary from store to store on some items so it does not hurt to check out different locations from time to time. read more

I really love this store. True it's a smaller footprint that most grocery chains, but similar in size to Trader Joe's. My 2 favorite areas to shop is produce and Aldi Finds. Again with it not being as large as other stores, they have pretty good prices and usually good quality when it comes to produce. What I started doing was going there first to see what values I can grab up, then I'll go Ralph's or Albertsons for the rest. My next favorite place to shop in store is Aldi Finds. There's goodies over there for your patio/yard, toys, kitchen, closet/bathroom...etc. also at good prices for the most part. The reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because yesterday and last week on Monday when I stopped in the produce section was scarce and Aldi Finds had a lot of out of stocks and throughout the store i had a lot of pricing missing (huge pet peeve). Again overall, this business is great! I'm hoping these were 2 isolated incidents and things are going to continue run as it had been or better. If you haven't been to Aldi's. This is a nice store, it's similar to Trader Joe's. Evidently it's got a German touch to it. My dad really likes it, he likes the cereal. However, I went to purchase butter that was on sale for 299 and I got charged 399. I am watching this stuff and I hope you guys are too because it's just not right!! Never been to an Aldi but have seen a few around Torrance. Its literally across the street from my home, adjacent to the Carson mall (where Sears use to be). Its not as good as a real market, but better than a convenience store. They have a wide variety of everyday necessities at reasonable prices. Will be coming here again for sure. read more

So, I'm going to write this review for the benefit of people considering visiting an Aldi's for the first time, as someone who's been going to various Aldi's for decades all across the country from one coast to the other. What this is NOT is a comparison of this Aldi's to other Aldi's stores. Here we go... First, if you're planning to use a shopping cart, bring a quarter. Because you need to DEPOSIT a quarter into the cart to take one. You get your quarter back when you return the cart. That's their way of avoiding a clutter of shopping carts in the parking lot. Good to know this ahead of time. Second, you normally bring your own bags. That's becoming more of a norm in these modern times, but Aldi's (and most of Europe) has had that concept for a while. You DON'T bag your stuff at the register. Rather, your stuff goes back in your cart, and you take it to a shelf behind all the registers, where you can take your time bagging after your shopping transaction is completed. Third, don't think of this as your one stop get everything here supermarket. Yes, you CAN shop for a weeks worth of food here, and you WILL get some good bargains, IF you adjust your wants and desires. If you already have a shopping list and you just want to check off items you're used to getting elsewhere, then you might be lucky if you get 25% of the stuff you normally buy here. So why do I come here? I normally shop down the street at Ralph's, but at Aldi's... 1) The fresh non-frozen but cook it at home pizza is awsome, the pies are huge, the toppings are plentiful, and the prices are cheaper than Little Caesar's. So what if I have to cook it in my own oven. I'm never getting a pizza anywhere else. 2) The eggs are about 2/3 what you would pay at Ralph's. 3) The bratwurst and other types of big sausages you would put on the BBQ are 1/2 what you would pay at Ralphs. Even basic hot dogs are a bargain. 4) A quart of ice cream for just $2 and some change, with flavors like Moose Tracks and Butter Pecan? How could I say no? 5) Wine. I'm not a booze hound, and no wine connoisseur, but these are the same bottles of wine you get at Trader Joe's. At less than $3 each, I'll make my meal a little more "Italian" by having some wine with my pizza ;-) The list goes on, but I can't think of each individual item off the top of my head. The gist of it is, especially for your first trip, don't plan on doing your regular grocery shopping here. Just think of it as grocery browsing and opportunity shopping when you stumble across that deal that's just to good to pass up. One word of warning... as this is a new location, there aren't any clear markings to warn cars to yield to pedestrians, and the cars can go zipping by at scary speeds. I notice the store has temporary movable "Yield to Pedestrians" warning signs, but they weren't deployed during my visit, and moving to the store from the parking lot involved being ballsy enough to step out and demand that cars yield so I could walk to the store. From the business perspective, they really need to do something about that. Accidents WILL happen. read more

They all truly deserve a raise we came in at 8:58 because of issues and we came in knowing they would say to leave because they were closed but let us get what we needed and we left. when i stopped by here 12/30 they only had 1/2 the general merchandise that they had a month ago. so check back periodically as things change. [ I think this is only my second or third visit at this aldi.] i just stop by when i'm in the area. also consider going to multiple aldis to find things on the ad as i find stores vary greatly [both general merchandise & grocery wise]. read more
