I stopped in a few days before Christmas, and I actually had a few things yet I wanted to get my grandpa, so this worked out great. At the entrance - and throughout the store - I found free hot coffee, tea, refreshments, cookies, and treats. Maybe it's just a holiday thing but I loved the hospitality. The space is HUGE - so much more than clothes! I had no idea. They have: - books and coffee table books - a whole room dedicated to perfume/cologne and scents - a whole area for cocktail-related gifts - home decor, tableware, and interior decor items - kitschy smaller giftables that were organized by theme (work/office, hosting, etc.) - menswear and womenswear - jewelry - candles - and so much more! I genuinely believe you can walk in here and be sure to find something for anyone on your gifting list. The service was incredible: lots of welcomes and greetings, and staff there to help you if you need it. Oh, they even have a room you can reserve while shopping?! FANCY!

However, a close friend is diving in for his third, and I applaud his happiness. I won't wear a tuxedo, but I needed to have a suit made that would make the bride and the 400 attendees comfortable. The bride already told me not to don a fedora or pink sneakers, although I wanted to. Todd Fliginger at Martin Patrick took me under his wing. Todd is amazingly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. He sent swatches to Milwaukee before we moved to Minneapolis. Tailors were brought in, especially the master tailor Robert, not only to measure, but also to have me try on different designers' pieces to see what would fit well. I am a difficult fit, with a body more like a penguin than a human. That's what a custom tailor in NYC told me. However, I don't nosh on Krill. Todd and Robert took hours to get a correct fit and guaranteed that I would look good. Todd even saved me several hundred dollars off the original quote. ADDENDUM: My suit arrived, and it looked amazing. A few alterations are required to ensure a perfect fit, but that's it. I had a suit made on Savile Row in London that cost more than three times this suit's price, and it did not fit as well. This store should be on every list of Minneapolis's sightseeing highlights. It is akin to a design museum. Everything at Martin Patrick--furniture and furnishings--is for sale, and they're all amazing! Martin Patrick 3 is down-to-earth sophistication, with a NYC or Parisian vibe. Yet, the staff is Midwest empathetic. It is a Minneapolis treasure, as is Todd. I might not be looking forward to this wedding, but at least I know I will look my best.

She buys things by the pallet from stores like Target, Macy's, Bed Bath & Beyond and more and passed the bargains into the public. Prices are super reasonable and it's relatively organized. Some of the items I picked up were a $3 women's shirt from Target (MSRP $24.99), $3 toddler shoes from Target (MSRP $27.99), $3 Toiletry Tray from Macy's (MSRP $22), $7 pack of three water guns (currently selling at Target for $14.99). She gets new things all the time so if you don't find something in your first trip don't be discouraged. If you live in the area I definitely recommend checking it out!

Wow how nice. They take credit cards with a $10 minimum purchase. There is a loyal customer club if you spend $100, you get $5.00 off the next time. However; I also love coming randomly throughout the year to get updated clothing items. I typically like to check out under Armour and Nike, the Columbia store also has a separate outlet location as well. Recently, I feel like prices haven't been nearly as good as they used to, but in this economy, who can blame them. I would love to see a little bit more variation in the food court, it's mostly Asian cuisines and Cinnabon. All delicious but would love to see some more options. There's a ton of parking, but if you come on a busy weekend, you may not notice and still have to park far away. Bummed to see some recent retailers, leaving, they've been replaced with stores that my opinion were is great. Overall, a decent shopping trip, it's also in a great location. There's plenty of other stores/eating nearby. I recommend checking out the Twin Cities premium outlets if you haven't been there before.

The perk about this location is that it's closer to Uptown/SLP, and if you don't like anything here (what's wrong with you), then you can go to it's sister, Optiz, for great high end and high quality brand name stuff without imperfections! So this place isn't your typical consignment store. There's so many around the area that that market is saturated and boring. No, this is a store for high end clothing that is slightly imperfect. This could mean a makeup stain from someone who tried it on in the store, a small fabric tear, a broken zipper, or a snag in the material. The imperfections range in size and severity. These clothes have never been owned--the luxury brand tags are always still attached! Annex gets shipments in 6 week cycles. The first few weeks are full price ($15-$25...still dirt cheap for high quality brands!) and the clothes that usually go during this time are the nice brands with very small imperfections. Next, the store marks ALL clothes down to $10 for a few weeks. Then to $5 for about a week. Then......$3 for two days!!! I pretty much only go during the $3 days because I love to hunt for the last treasures standing. I will add that they do have a newsletter, which at the bottom will tell you what "phase" they are on--$10, $5, and so on. That can help you plan your attack. I get the best deals here. Michael Kors, Free People, and Loft are a few of my favorite brands I get here for dirt cheap. You do have to be willing to either stitch up an imperfection or live with a slightly impaired product, but if perfection isn't a requirement for you, you have to check this place out! They have awesome bags and shoes too, but these don't go on sale typically. Shoes range from $5-$25--some have no visible imperfections, but stay away from ones with broken straps or other things not worth trying to fix. Bags usually have a little black mark or something easy to look past, and they sell great bag brands like Michael Kors and Cole Haan. I cannot emphasize enough how much I love this place. All my friends know when I wear something new that I got it for $3 at Annex. If you're willing to fix a small imperfection or look past it, this is the place for you! Happy hunting :)
