The injections were quick and smooth (not going to say painless because that would be lying) but if you can't have it a little pain, they have the option for a local and aesthetic. If you are dealing with back or hip pain or pain in general your body, I would highly recommend scheduling a visit through your doctor.

I'm starting an intensive physical therapy program and hoping I won't need maintenance for too much longer. That being said, I am grateful for the time I had with Dr. Rafii. Dealing with a chronic pain condition can be stressful for the Dr. and patient both. But navigating those waters of trial and error didn't seem bad at all with him. It felt more like a team collaboration. Even when times were easy to give up and refer me out...he didn't. The front office has many processes that assist in this level of organization. We have never experienced wait time here. Tom is so appreciative that Dr. Raffe takes his pain issues seriously and worked to find a potential treatment in pain relief for him. (Life changed for us when we had a serious motor vehicle accident 4/2/2022. Our plans to travel during retirement may have to be on a very limited basis based on Tom's back and neck pain.) His PCP and Neurosurgeon despite being great physicians weren't able to offer a plan of action. The consultation at Diagnostic Pain Management has offered some hope. Dr. Raffii ordered an MRI to see about his spinal column status. We are here to review the results. Although at our age it is expected that there will be arthritis, there appears to be some fluid that is likely caused from the incident. Hopefully the test injection that Tom will undergo next week, will support him going forward with the appropriate medication to help in controlling the pain in the lower back. Dr Kaplan has to be one of the worst doctors I've ever seen as far as bedside manner. He never sat with us more than maybe 5 minutes, enough time to make notes and leave. He gave the bare minimum of attention to my client when she was talking at any point, and interrupted her constantly to cut the conversation shorter. The one and only time he acknowledged ME was before a procedure, where he asked me to tell my client (who was in another room) not to call the office with any concerns for at least 24 hours unless it was an emergency. On our last visit with him, he straight-up told my client (who by this point was in so much pain she could barely leave her apartment and was feeling the emotional distress from that) that she was too emotional for him to deal with. That other people had it way worse than her and THEY didn't cry. Lastly, he told her that even after the two tests she had been through, he would not perform the final procedure on her until she proved to him that she was on an antidepressant (???????????????????) Now the office is giving us the run-around, pushing our next appointment back a week, then another week, then saying we would have to go to a surgical center because they just don't have the tools they need. I've flat-out encouraged my client to quit giving this practice any more of her money; waiting to see a doctor who will treat her with some dignity will be 1000x better than ever seeing this doctor again. Most recently, for a 15 minute injection procedure that my insurance once again denied, they offered me out of pocket costs of: Doctor - $250 Anesthesia - $250 Facility costs - $11, 286 That's an outrageous cost for a 15 minute injection. If you need to see the doctors here, they've always been great. But be wary of the surgery center - they are only there to squeeze as much money out of you as possible at exorbitant prices. Don't worry, your insurance company will get a contractual cost that is a fraction of that, but for those of us normal Americans, we get the highest price possible knowing they can try and prey on your desperation to make money. Find another surgery facility if you need something done.
