I had an appointment to have steroid…read moreshots. i called them first...they have artificial intelligence answer the phone! you are not allowed to talk to a human!! it took me 20 minutes, I finally spoke with someone who confirmed my appointment, when I arrived there I was told to fill out forms I already did twice online! took 20 minutes of my time. they took me into the office and told me Sorry.....they couldn't do the procedure because the doctor was not there! I WAITED 45 MINUTES FOR. NOTHING. THEY WERE ALL LIKE. ROBOTS! HAD NO CARING OR EMPATHY , DIDNT CARE ABOUT WASTING MY TIME! I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST ANYONE EVER GO TO SE ORTHOPEDIST! THEY ARE AWFUL!

There is a receptionist that could use some people skills, maybe she was stressed because of a tech glitch with her computer. The great care provided makes up for it. I went there because I had a huge bruise on my foot that was not caused by an injury. When Dr. Johnson examined my foot and showed him pics of my foot from the pass couple of weeks. I asked if it was my Raynauds. he said "I'm almost 100% positive this is a stress fracture. I want you to wear a boot and it needs to be one that goes to your knee. Go to Amazon and purchase one there." I pulled it up on my phone and he told me which one to order. Then told me he was going to send me for X-rays. As I was getting ready to check out and he walks me up to the front he proceeds to talk to me about a vitamin that I need to be on. I heard him and the front girl tell me about it and how I would be contacted. Dr. Johnson said he would call me with the results from my X-rays if he wasn't right. I told the girl in the front I wanted to be called no matter what the X-rays say. She said she would be sure to tell him. I went over for X-rays and the imaging center told me they would be over to the doctor by the end of the day. Meantime I ordered the boot thinking I could trust this doctor. Received it the next day. With my work it's very hard for me to stand all day in this boot and I have osteoarthritis in that same knee and Dr. Johnson told me I could not wear the brace for my knee that I had to wear the boot for a month. I told him that I really needed to wear the brace because if I didn't my back would go out to. He said u can't wear the brace only the boot. Moving forward did not get a call on that Friday that I saw him. Called Monday and the receptionist told me he was on vacation and would be back next week. I asked if there was any way to get my results from my X-rays since I was told he would contact me. She said she would have someone call me. NO CALL. I always get a copy of my X-rays. I went to get the cd and my report. The report said NO STRESS FRACTURE found. Just soft tissue inflammation. I was very upset that the doctor never called me. Thank god I did not wear the boot with my knee and back problems. I would not recommend him.

When I called to ask about it, the front desk laughed at me. The office refused to take responsibility, saying the employee who originally provided the information no longer works there. I also had 1 filling done, which my new dentist let me know was poorly done. On top of that, I saw 2 dogs inside the office during visits without service vests, which didn't seem sanitary for a healthcare setting (if they were legitimate service animals, I understand). Overall, very disappointed with the lack of transparency and professionalism. Take your money & teeth elsewhere!

But probably the deal breaker was that for a routine check up after the dental part of the appt. we would've had to wait SIX MONTHS for a cleaning. We've NEVER run into this kind of arrangement in our collective 140 year experience. One explanation, we thought, was that they couldn't hire or retain enough dental hygienists. And why is that? Are there not enough dental hygienists in St. Augustine, or does the practice not pay them enough or otherwise provide a miserable working experience? Who knows, and really we don't care. We are tired with tolerating drama anywhere for whatever reason, so we're going back to our "old" dentist in Orlando. We got two appts. about 10 days out from contacting them. The appt. includes a cleaning.

Dr. Trunk is super friendly but also great at what she does. She's also realistic - she encourages strong oral hygiene but doesn't talk to you like a lot of other dentists can (read: condescendingly). She just chats with you. The hygienists are also quick and professional and clearly enjoy what they do. I also had a more major procedure done (root canal and crown due to a mistake from a previous dentist) and that was as pleasant as could be. They are professional and do great work and I have had no issues with the crown since they put it in nearly two years ago.

Following their treatment plan, I came in to replace 3 old fillings. Dr. O. removed the old…read morefillings, but decided I needed a root canal and crown instead of a filling. My fillings were from many years ago. Now instead of $78, it's going to be thousands of dollars. Went to another office getting a filling not a root canal. Also, beware of the topical fluoride for adults....it is a profit center. I have never been asked if I wanted this additional treatment. I researched on line. Make up your own mind. Some research says it is great for adults, other research says it is all about the money. Dental Doctors has changed a lot in the past few years. Maybe it is time to make a switch. It appears their business is not nearly as busy as it once was. These are my views and I am not a doctor or dentist. As always, buyer beware.
