This crazy Chicagoland weather has caused a driver's worst nightmare: potholes. On my way home from work, I ran through a stealth pothole that couldn't be seen between the rain & darkness. Tire pressure sensor went off immediately and I knew my tire was a goner. Through Geico's Roadside Assistance Program, I was set up with Superior Towing. Due to the freezing temps from a few days ago and the "heat wave" we've experienced, they were extremely busy with other accidents. I was given a 5-hour window. No big deal, I wasn't in a hurry to get anywhere and it's the weekend. Timmy got here an hour earlier than expected and he was very nice & friendly. He took great care with putting my car on the bed. He then took my car to get my tire replaced while my husband & I followed. Extremely glad to have this added onto the auto insurance, not sure how much it would've cost me otherwise. Either way, great service and I wouldn't mind having their services again (hopefully not any time soon!) read more

I was surprised to read several negative reviews of Superior Towing. My husband and I have used them several times over the years and have always received fast, reliable, courteous service. Most recently I called to get a jump start on a sub-zero morning. Mel was here within the hour and quickly had me on my way to work. Some of the reviews indicate limited hours but I'm pretty sure they're available 24/7 - at least that's what Mel told me when he was here. I haven't needed a tow or a jump start in the middle of the night. read more

The drivers Ron R. and Joe T., EXCELLENT service. The two kept me abreast about the insurance order, towing the vehicle, and when the vehicle reached its destination. Why two drivers? When the insurance company called Superior, the dispatcher AMY attempted to have my vehicle towed as a "2 wheel drive". I clearly requested a FLATBED tow service. The first driver was not able to retrieve my vehicle therefore, a second driver had to be dispatched. I called AMY to express my concern about the almost 3 hour wait due to her intentional dispatch of the first tow truck (the insurance order indicated FLATBED). AMY apologized and CUT ME OFF as if what I had to say was not important. "I apologize, I have another call." CLICK! AMY was VERY RUDE. read more

Got matched up with this company through Chevy Roadside Assistance. Said 90 minutes to get to my location at 2:45PM. 4:15PM and they still hadn't showed up or called. I called them, got stuck on hold for 20 minutes without any answer. Called Chevy, they told Chevy they would be there in 20 more minutes. 30 minutes went by and still no tow driver. Called Chevy, spent 30 more minutes on hold before the operator came back and said no one was answering at Superior. Cancelled the tow and had to leave the vehicle where it was overnight. The next day, Chevy arranged for another tow. I specifically asked them not to use this company again, but they did anyway. Supposed to be there at 2PM. 2:15PM, still no tow truck, I called Chevy and found out they'd used Superior again. They told me Superior had lost the paperwork for the tow and it would be at least another 90 minutes. Well, I'd heard that one before. Cancelled the tow and had to start over with another company. Thanks for wasting 8 hours of my time (so far) Superior! read more

I really had no other choice state farm pays this company directly. I called requested a flat bed cause my car has front end damage and it was bing towed to the shop for repairs and hr they told me 2 Hrs later I called back and they told me that the truck would be there in a few min later. The other day I had car issues and my road side assistance called superior. I was told they would be picking up my car in under two hours. After two hours, I called superior and the operator told me she could not give me an answer as to when the truck would come because they didn't know where to hold my car until Monday. I waited in a parking lot for over 3 hours! Every time I called, the operator put me on hold. A family member followed my car home to make sure I did not get stranded. Finally 4 hours later, superior called me looking for my car. This was such a terrible experience and their customer service was awful! How can you leave a customer stranded for hours? The best service I've had from a towing company. The customer service was very nice and polite. My friend and I were driving her son back to his home. He is a special needs young man and is in a wheelchair. Half way there the water pump in her van went out. We then called her insurance company, they sent a tow truck from another company. The man arrived late and then said he couldn't tow it cause it was a special van and he did not have the right truck. He was very rude about it and was practically yelling at us. We then had to call again to get another company out to us with a flatbed. Superior was sent to us and the young man called to let us know he was 5min away. He was so polite on the phone. Costumer service was also very nice. When he arrived he was very nice to us and escorted us to his warm truck. He spoke to us the whole way back to her house and he was so respectful. Was scheduled for a 430 tow I waited around at 5 pm the truck wasnt there. I gave them a call to find out that I would have to wait until 8 pm for a tow. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will never do business with superior again. On the bright side the driver was nice but dispatch is unprofessional and disorganized. read more

On Saturday, I was attending a wedding about an hour away from my home when my car broke down on South Cedar St, I believe in New Lenox. I was blocking traffic and it was a very unnerving experience. I called the non-emergency police number and the officer called Superior Towing. Total wait time was 20 minutes. (I called my roadside assistance and the wait was over an hour.) The driver, Mel, was fantastic. He had my car on the flatbed within 5 minutes of arrival and gave me all the information about how my car would be dropped to the dealer for repairs. After we were done, Mel was nice enough to drop me off at the wedding reception a few blocks away. It is now Monday morning and my car is safely at the dealer before 8:30 am just as Mel told me. After being stranded on the side of the road for 21 hours in our classic GMC Motorhome, Superior Towing came to our rescue when no one else would. The driver, Chris, was an expert and had no problems working with an RV that requires a delicate touch. He had us towed to the repair shop in no time flat. Honestly, I was pretty much hating Illinois before he showed up. Chris is my hero, seriously. I had a tow setup this morning through Geico with you guys!! I had to call dispatch to match sure everything was ok! I called the office and spoke to a woman named Amy who was just a complete bitch about my situation and gave me complete attitude when I was just trying to get some info on when my driver was going to show up! She totally showed disrespect to me on the phone and told me that I need to call Geico and not bother her and the company with questions related to Geico! So I waited s while and spoke to another woman Arlene and she setup the correct info and was able to get the truck out to me! I don't appreciate having to call into a company and be totally disrespected by Amy on the phone!! They were courteous and professional. I ended having to pay for a few miles of towing after my insurance company's coverage ended. Their rate was $4/mile (over the milage that my insurance company covered). This rate is actually pretty good since my insurance company initially wanted to send a tow service that was going to charge $5/mile (over the milage that my insurance company covered). This review is a little late, but just wanted to say that these guys care about their customers. When they were towing my car, there was a slight mishap with the truck equipment (Mel wasn't the driver, just so everyone knows). But they more than made up for it, replaced the bumper, and even detailed my car and paid for a rental car while my car was in the shop. When they brought it back to me it looked better than new! Bob is a professional and caring guy, and Mel is the guy you want on your side when you are stranded on the side of the road. Good guys. read more

This place is great. I was told by GEICO that they may not be able to have anyone come tow my car to the repair shop until after the new year. But the same day I called GEICO to file my claim, they sent out Superior Towing that same night to come and tow my car, even though the weather was terrible. The driver's name was Mel and he was a really nice guy who was very helpful. He called me to let me know how far away he was, he called me again when he arrived, and he told me he'd call me again when he dropped off the car at the repair shop. I just had a tow completed by Mel. On my way home from work last night i got a flat tire. After calling around and dealing with nonsense Superior Towing picked up my order through State Farm. I was already aggravated and extremely frustrated as one can imagine when you encounter any car troubles. Mel was great. He made sure he called to let me know he was on his way, where his current location was. He showed up early (PLUS IN MY BOOK) and within minutes my car was loaded and good to go. I recently had my van towed by Superior Towing and received excellent customer service from their driver Mel. My transmission had went out on the van a few days earlier and I had limped it into the local Dodge dealership and dropped it off. The dealer called me a few days later and and said that they had performed an initial diagnosis on my trans but would have to pull it apart (at $1100) to give me a further estimate but it could be $4000 to replace the trans. Their message said they would wait for my approval to proceed any further. After checking around I found a more reasonable estimate and called Geico to arrange a tow since I had towing coverage on my policy. They contacted Superior who immediately contacted me and said they would be at the dealer in 20 min. I got there in 15 min and Mel was already there waiting for me. I went into the service department to pay my bill for the initial diagnosis so I could have it towed. They told me that the van had already been partially disassembled because the tech did not realize that they did not have prior authorization. I was told it would be an hour before the van was ready to be towed. Mel was standing with me as the service manager was apologizing for their mistake. Mel told me not to worry about it as he had a quick pick up in Plainfield to do but could swing back by in a hour or so and pick up the van. I called him back in about an hour when it was ready and Mel said he would be there shortly and that there was no need for me to wait around wasting my time. Mel followed up with a phone call after he had delivered my van to the other repair shop. This level of customer service was awesome since I had to leave work and was delayed due to the dealership mess up. I thought I was going to have to call Geico again to reschedule the whole thing but with Mel handling it by coming back, I was able to go back to work and just wait for his call. I will definitely recommend Superior Towing to my friends that need a tow and tell them to ask for Mel. read more

The guy "dropped" my completely disabled (broken into & engine stripped) car partially in front of a fire hydrant & wouldn't move it or just push it back about 4 feet. Plus, the front portion of my car was sticking out into the street. In my 18+ years of car-ownership & dealing with tow truck drivers from time to time, this was the worst. I knew I was dealing with unprofessionalism from his initial phone call when he was totally pissed because dispatch gave him the incorrect pickup location. Geico finally got Superior to come back to move the car. Even the 2nd driver was totally amazed that a) I didn't get a ticket & b) a tow driver left my car in that ridiculous position.
