His staff is truly magical, diligently listens to your needs, and somehow always manages to work with your schedule to find a convenient time for your family. The office is extremely clean, organized, and is designed with kids in mind - everything about the visit is so much fun. It's also extremely efficient and Dr. Armakan and his staff are so communicative. We first saw Dr. Armakan for a severe lip and tongue tie that really impacted by micro-preemie's ability to eat solid foods. He came highly recommended by a leading occupational and speech therapists in the area and I can see why - he's an expert. He took time to really assess my little one and explain his findings. We were able to complete the procedure right after our assessment which saved us another trip and so much time. They handled a wiggle baby like a champ and provided clear instructions for what us parents should expect and could do to aid with healing. The procedure was perfect and we had a great outcome! I was so pleased with the care my little one received that we switched dentists and brought our toddler here, too. He was so enthralled by the office and happily hopped in the chair. The hygienist offered kid friendly options our other pediatric dentist didn't have (like chocolate flavored toothpaste for cleaning!). The exam was much more thorough than our last dentist, too. Dr. Armakan also talked about his pallet and a lip tie that had previously gone unnoticed. Seeing a good dentist is much more than just looking at teeth, especially in the pediatric population. Overall, I'm extremely confident in the care that Dr. Armakan and his staff provide and are SO glad we found this practice!

Their customer service is unmatched and their attention to detail and just covering everything I am so excited for my children to finally get the proper dental care and education. The wonderful office staff accommodated me and my large number of children working around my work & my home schedule to find the perfect appointment and I'm just so grateful they met all of our needs. I really appreciated the follow up cause in constantly checking back in until everything was needed prior to the appointment. A Truly Exceptional Experience with Dr. Shin…read more As a nurse with 17 years of experience in procedures and sedation, I've seen my fair share of medical scenarios, but Dr. Shin stands out as one of the best examples of what healthcare should be. My 22-month-old son had a traumatic fall that caused damage to his upper front teeth. Two local dentists recommended pulling the three remaining teeth out immediately, and were dismissive of the need for X-rays, insisting that a child of his age would never sit still for an X-ray and that delaying the extractions could harm his permanent teeth. The plan was to restrain him, inject lidocaine (which I know from personal experience is always painful), and pull the teeth out. I wasn't comfortable with that approach. As a nurse who works with children, I've seen how painful procedures can create lasting fear of medical professionals, and I didn't want that for my son. After exhausting other options, I found Dr. Shin and her team. From the moment we walked into her office, Dr. Shin's approach was a breath of fresh air. She immediately engaged with my son, offering toys and creating a welcoming, trust-filled environment. Dr. Shin suggested taking an X-ray, which other offices had told me wasn't possible with a toddler. It showed that while there was a small chance the teeth would need to come out later if future X-rays show a developing infection, it wasn't urgent, and pulling all of them right away wasn't necessary. I was relieved to hear there was time to consider our options. Dr. Shin explained that one tooth did, in fact, need to be removed soon. She laid out two options for us: The first option involved general anesthesia with an anesthesiologist, who comes to the office once a month. However, as a nurse who starts IVs in children, I know how traumatic receiving an IV can be for a child. The second option, which we chose, was a thoughtful and humane approach. Dr. Shin suggested giving my son a weight-based dose of midazolam, a mild sedative that made him relaxed and sleepy. This allowed him to accept nitrous oxide (laughing gas) with ease, further helping him relax. To minimize pain, she applied a topical numbing agent to his gums before any lidocaine was injected--a step no other office had considered. Thanks to this careful, methodical approach, my son remained calm and comfortable throughout the entire visit. There were no tears, and I'm pretty sure (especially since he could watch his favorite show on the ceiling from the procedural chair), he didn't even realize the tooth had been pulled! Dr. Shin's compassion, skill, and dedication to providing the least traumatic experience possible for children are unparalleled. She took the time to ensure my son's experience was as positive as it could be--focusing not just on the procedure but on his emotional and physical comfort. As a nurse who works with children undergoing medical procedures, I can tell you that it takes a special person to balance decisiveness with gentleness, and to be both quick and patient when necessary. Dr. Shin does all of that, and more. I can't recommend her highly enough. She truly exemplifies the best of what pediatric dentistry can be.

At the last check up, she refused to open her mouth, was scared of anything going in or near her mouth (even a toothbrush!), and was especially afraid of the potential of getting an xray done. At the last practice we went to, they were insisting we should try to get an xray done, but they used the xray card that adults use, so my daughter was very uncomfortable, scared, and she kept gagging. They tried several times, but in the end we didn't get the xray, and instead we left with intense dental fear instilled. We were referred to Dr. Keaney by a friend, who raved about how gentle and kid-friendly the practice was. Upon arriving, we were greeted by friendly staff and they made us feel really welcome and comfortable. The white board at the front desk even had a welcome sign that included our daughter's name! All the rooms were pleasantly decorated and themed. Shortly after we went in, we saw Dr. Keaney, and she was exactly as described: patient, kind, excellent with children. She and the other staff (Jessica) actually took time to read our forms and talk with us about our past experience, and took special care to cater to our specific situation. During the checkup, Dr. Keaney carefully explained/demonstrated each step she was going to do, and was really able to put my daughter at ease. In the end, she was awarded with a balloon and goodie bag, so we definitely left on a happy note. They also had My Little Pony on the ceiling tv playing, which was another extra bonus. I really appreciated how we were asked if it was OK to keep the TV on during the checkup, which I thought was so respectful and thoughtful to me, as a parent. We live over 30 minutes away, and there are many closer pediatric dentists in our area, but we are more than happy to make that extra drive to this practice now. We are looking forward to the day my daughter gets excited to see the dentist, and I really believe Dr. Keaney will get us there. Thank you to Dr. Keaney and all the wonderful staff!

It's really rare to experience an office where all staff members are kind, helpful, and friendly, but that is this office. From the admin person to the front desk staff to the hygienists to the dentist herself, this is an office that truly cares for the kids and their families. All the staff are all positive and supportive. The office is very clean and conducive to kids, with tvs in the ceiling, toys in the waiting room, and kids decor throughout. There is a dry erase board where each kids name is written to welcome them, a very nice touch. Each kid gets a goody bag at the end and a token which can be used on the toy vending machines in the lobby. This is a HUGE hit with the kids! They usually get little jewelry trinkets or toys that they get excited about. One time the staff gave them balloons which was sweet. The dentist herself is very kind and gentle and thorough with the kids. She'll take time to answer questions and explain things. The same go for all the hygienists here. I always get a good vibe when coming to my kids dental appointment!
