Best thing is the produce because it's all fresh. It's comparable to the Cermak Fresh Markets. There's a lot of Mexican and other Latino stuff in here along with some other countries too. Has quite a lot to go through so you can find many good items. There's a grill to order tacos and tortas. Also there's a hot bar and salad bar. Other popular areas include the bakery where they cut fresh loaves. Has even more produce outside, especially when they have pumpkins in autumn. The prices are okay for being fresh. For sure we could go here again if in the area. It's got a couple locations, including this one on Grand. The produce is considered to be the best stuff.

Saturday I called and talked to Fabiola the women that works in the department that makes the fresh fruit juices and cut up fruit. She asked me when I could come in I asked her when she would have the juice ready . I told her I would like 3 bottles she said give me 25 minutes and that she would put 3 aside for me. I Went to the store and there in her section she had the 3 juices I reached into my pocket to give her a tip and she said no thank you I love my job here and I'm here to help. If you prefer things not from animals there's plenty more in the store. Has alcohol. Last time I found a can of Crazy Cowboy for $1.99, and there's other cheap beers too. As for the produce it's not great but it's cheap. It's about $2 to get a few oranges. A few other good things in here. They only have a couple checkout aisles, and they prefer cash but that's not required. For sure it's an important local business. It's a lot better than going to some corporate chain. On March 7, I opened the package and immediately found that there was grey, fuzzy mold on the product. That was when I also discovered that there was another freshness sticker UNDER the March date. That "first" sticker was February 16. This disgusts me. And believe me, it's not the $5 issue, but the deception. AND this is not the first time I have experienced this, at this store. About 4 years ago, I purchased a specialty cheese that had two stickers on it. The section mgr. simply grabbed a new package, marked it "No Charge," handed it to me and took the re-labeled from me. This is not a mistake. This is BAD POLICY. Foods are labeled PERISHABLE for a reason. I will not give Mariano's / #Kroger a third chance. If I could rate this "No Stars" I would.
