This is a good super Walmart store. I have usually found what I am looking for and the pricing is very reasonable. The store is generous well organized. The customer service is good as well.

If I could give this Walmart 0 stars, I would. Came in to return a cup holder phone mount and a phone screen saver. I'm within the 90-day window which is posted on the website and the board behind their customer service counter. However, KYLE and JAMES claim their policy has been changed to 30 days. This is posted NOWHERE. Everything posted says 90 days. Ridiculous!

I can say that my experience in this store is a hit or miss because there are times that my experience is good and there are also times that it is not. The store carries a ton of stuff and everything that I could ever want and need, from groceries to clothes, home goods, etc. The store is also spacious enough and it has a nice layout where everything is easy to find. I wanted to start with their groceries. Their grocery products are great. There are a variety of choices. The products are also fresh and the quality is good. However, the stocks are not maintained. There are times when specific items are out of stock, which is very disappointing, especially when they are products that I desperately need. That is one of the problems I faced in this store. Other products are well-stocked, but there have been times when I couldn't find what I was looking for because it was already out of stock. Meanwhile, I do not have any problems with the bread the store carries because they have all the particular brands I wanted and I could think of. I also think that they have all the great brands. Prices are fair and reasonable here. They do not go higher and if they do, they only have a few differences, which is great and also the reason why I like this store. Their prices are reasonable, and they usually have lower prices than any other store. Service here is pretty nice too. The staff are friendly and helpful. They are always attentive whenever I want to ask something or anything, and they are always glad to help.

Lewis Fresh Market certainly isn't one of those cramped little stores. Has a lot of produce and other items. The prices aren't the best but they're pretty comparable to other places. Best thing is the produce because it's all fresh. It's comparable to the Cermak Fresh Markets. There's a lot of Mexican and other Latino stuff in here along with some other countries too. Has quite a lot to go through so you can find many good items. There's a grill to order tacos and tortas. Also there's a hot bar and salad bar. Other popular areas include the bakery where they cut fresh loaves. Has even more produce outside, especially when they have pumpkins in autumn. The prices are okay for being fresh. For sure we could go here again if in the area. It's got a couple locations, including this one on Grand. The produce is considered to be the best stuff.

Something I do at all ethnic grocers. There's no organic vegetables available and there is a popular bakery which I did not patronize. Not a place to drive to but interesting to pick up some Mexican while in the area. I liked my carnitas by the pound & threw the spinach pies & cooked chicken in the freezer for those busy days.

I just wish it would!!!! Originally written on 11/30/2012 but just noticed it was posted on the wrong Jewel site (Lewis) when it should have been posted on the Green Bay Jewel's site. I have been shopping here for years and agree that corporate must be ignoring this store because they never have enough staff. They are usually running on self-checkout lanes only that get frequent errors and take forever to get through the check-out process. The only employee who seems to be helpful besides the one with a hearing impairment is a tall black guy. And he can barely be helpful because he is usually playing the role of overseeing all of the self check-out lanes, customer service and supervisor. The store is pretty crowded at night so I am not sure why anyone in their right mind would ever think one staff person is enough. A few months ago, my boyfriend was waiting at the customer service desk for quite some time to get a rain check and when he finally saw an employee walking by and ignoring him, he asked he if she could help him. She said in a rude tone, "What do you want? I'm on break!" After he told her he wanted nothing from her but her manager, she stormed out of the store. Two nights ago, I was there with my daughter and she was laughing uncontrollably at the fact that every aisle had items out of place. On top of that, we couldn't even buy any fruit because it all looked horrible. The bread aisle had a banana peel of an eaten banana that was black (meaning it had been there for a while). The other aisles had perishable goods in them that were not even cold anymore. The perishable aisles had not perishable items tossed everywhere. And when I went to checkout (at self check-out, of course) there was a basket of food sitting there with a floppy frozen pizza that was no longer frozen. At this point, I sent my daughter to tell the employee there were items left at the checkout. She retrieved them and put them in the restock-perishable basket, not the basket they use when things are damaged or need to be discarded. At this point, I was livid. I saw an employee in a white shirt walk up to the customer service desk and asked if he was the manager. He said yes and I told him that I have been coming to the store for years and it is disgusting. There are items everywhere in the aisles and then I picked the pizza up and asked if if he would eat it and told him they are going to make someone sick. He told me he can't control what the customers do. I told him he can control what his employees do. He then looked around and asked if I saw anyone just standing around to which I responded that they have had a staffing problem for years. He then snatched the pizza out of my hand and threw the it back in the pershable bin telling me they aren't putting it back on the shelf. I told him that if that was true, he would have placed it in the other bin and not to lie to me and walked away. I did happen to ask the cashier on the way out for his name. It's Mike. I will be sending this same review to corporate, but doubt it will matter. It's a shame to see that the Jewel in Waukegan is run so poorly and in such disrepair, but the one in Gurnee is fully staffed and remodeled and is never half as full as the Waukegan location. I guess they don't care about the Waukegan area as much as the Gurnee one and I guess I will be a new customer of the Gurnee location but will more likely drive the extra distance to Dominick's to avoid them all together. EDIT: So I googled Jewel so I could file the compaint and an aticle about their stock dropping and them trying to sell because of the underperformed their competitors like Dominicks. DUHHHHH!!!! In 2008 their stock was worth over $40, not it's down to $2. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-jewel-parent-company-in-sales-talks-20121129,0,2407609.story

It may be most notable for the popular butcher section but there's also produce. Has cheap prices on many items. They prefer cash so bring some of that. A small store but it has a lot. It's not as much to choose from as the big chain groceries but there's quite a few finds. The most popular part is the butcher to get fresh meats. Basically that's the area at the entrance. If you prefer things not from animals there's plenty more in the store. Has alcohol. Last time I found a can of Crazy Cowboy for $1.99, and there's other cheap beers too. As for the produce it's not great but it's cheap. It's about $2 to get a few oranges. A few other good things in here. They only have a couple checkout aisles, and they prefer cash but that's not required. For sure it's an important local business. It's a lot better than going to some corporate chain.
