While attempting to purchase a $500 Evenflo travel set, the cashier and a floor associate informed me that because they could not locate a serial number on the box, the item would be "non-returnable." The facility itself is quite large. It provides many different products for many different situations. The little interaction I had with the staff was pleasant. The location, however, is questionable. One part is well put together, providing up-to-date modern restaurants and shops. But on the other side, it's run down. This wouldn't be the first location. I would choose to shop at. Although it does have a lot of items that are needed, I don't think this would be my first choice. DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT use Walmarts auto repair center. I called at 7:35 AM when they opened to check a price no one answered. At 8:05AM I walked into the repair area to see three employees (Sam & Chris) both women, and a male counterpart. The two women are both on their phones and no one greets me or acknowledges me until I pull my phone out about to take a picture of the nonsense. Sam then says hi. I tell her I'm looking to get a quote on buying and replacing a tire. She tells me she cannot get me in today. I tell her i am only her trying to get a quote. She then says $15. I explain I'm looking for a replacement, not a repair but thanks for lmk I can't get a repair today. She then ask for my tire sizes I tell her I don't know it. She starts explaining how to find it, I tell her I don't understand but if she can come out and check I'm parked right outside. She then replies she doesn't know how to find it on cars either and ask the male employee to go out and look. He does, we go back in. Sam then searches the tire and says it has to be bought online. I said that's cool, how much. She says she can't give me the price or help me any further because I have to do everything online myself. THIS is my first time trying to come here since Waukegan Tire is closed on Sundays. How WALMART treats disabled people. I'm on dialysis 3days a week, a few years ago I couldn't walk because of a disease that destroyed some of my muscle mass in my legs, I'm also 1 week out from open heart surgery. So I can walk but it's difficult and painful. At 12:30 today I was dropped off at the Walmart at Fountain Square in Waukegan. I walked in the door and saw there were no riding carts. An employee walked in after me and i politely asked if he could see if there were riding carts on the other side. He walk by and says "I dunno" and walks right past me. Another employee was bringing carts in and I asked if he could find out if they have a riding cart. His response "I'm not really sure man" then walks away. I walked inside the store and asked a third employee (greeter) and the response was "I don't know I work right here" as he points to the floor. I asked if he could find someone and his response was in an aggravated tone "I WORK RIGHT HERE!" I walked back grabbed a regular cart and started walking very slowly and with much discomfort until I found a riding cart. I transferred my groceries and sat in it to drive and something was really wrong with it. Even with a full battery the thing would just barely even move. I saw a WALMART manager with a radio and cell phone on her belt. I explained my situation and my experience up to that point expecting finally someone will at least take a second to look if there's any carts at either door. She says it's a busy day so they may not be one available. I asked could she at the very least call on the radio to find out. She says give me a second and walks away. She comes back a minute later and says "there's some there but people are sitting on them and I can't ask them to move." I asked "why can't you ask if a disabled customer can borrow one". Her response "I can't" and walks away aggravated with the situation. 4 employees and no resolution or concern for my safety. I was trying to get out of the store, and my hands were full, so I kicked the small shopping basket to the door, and Fred, who was standing there and could have offered to help but shook his head instead. Worst Walmart automotive department I've ever been to- if I could give this place a 0 star I would- went to get an oil change on Nov 25 th and almost ended up with a blown engine- I went there after 4 pm - I had my appointment at 4:30 and got my car in early- I waited there to get my car done- it was over an hour and I got a text message- thought the text said my car was done I went to the counter- the woman was cashing a customer out- I finally spoke to a guy who was rude right away- I asked about my car and he said they just now got your car in- I told him I've been here over an hour- he got really rude and walked away- I then asked the woman and she replied back you need to learn patience sir- I told her it's over an hour already - She was extremely rude as well- I finally get my car back at almost 6- I pay my bill and walk out to my car and start it up- I have av ticking sound coming from my engine- I figured I'll get home and double check my oil- I get home and check and find out I have no oil in my car at all- I proceed to call the manager at Walmart and she said I need to return my car so they can check to see if theirs no oil in the car- I told her I put oil back in my car already so I don't blow my engine- she said to come in the next day and get my money back- I come in the next day to speak to Cindy the manager- she comes up to me with an attitude- saying that she needs to check with the automotive department- I show her the picture of the dip stick that had no oil on it and she said I'll be right back- she comes back and said I need to return my car so they can check the oil leek I have in my car- I told her I don't trust in returning my car here- she told me I'm not returning your money to you then- At that point I left and took it to another oil change place- I asked if they could check my drain bolt and filter- They went and looked and to my surprise they told me the drain bolt was loose and had no gasket on it. I'm so glad I checked my oil and I'm even more thankful that I took it to another place. What ever makes it worse is I called corporate about this Walmart and I still have not heard anything back- that's how they treat customers that almost have their cars engine blown up- AVOID AVOID AVOID this place if you value your cars- customer service sucks from the top to the bottom even when the customer has a right to be upset read more

Very unhappy that this Walmart is no longer offering PURELL WIPES to the customers upon entering the store. When I brought this to the attention of the store manager On 4/20/20 he kindly went to their supply room and opened a large package of Purell wipes and put them in their dispenser. Today 4/22/20 when I asked Amy the store supervisor where the Purell wipes were she informed me that CORPORATE said the wipes were no offered because they spray the carts down. I complained that both should be offered and she stated that I could bring my own in. Really? Pulling in was nice with no cars but there was a police camera system, should I be worried? I go inside and it's kind of laid out like our normal Walmart except I can't find what I want, which was bug spray I came across 3 women workers and asked them where bug spray was. Thenlady looked at me as if she didn't understand me. So i said mosquitoe spray, she tells me sporting goods. I said really I need to go all the way back to sporting goods? And another lady steps in and asks so I say I need to go to sporting goods for mosquitoe spray, she is shake her head, and I said for bug spray and motion to put it on my arms. Then she says something pointing the opposite direction. And I said 3 times I was sorry, I didn't understand and repeated what i thought she said. Finally figured it out and went over to the chemical section in grocery, as she called it. Went to cleaning supplies and asked someone there, again couldn't understand what he said but I can follow a finger, it was by the bug killer spray for your home and mice traps. Then in looking i grab the one outta of the box that was $.98 I think perfect I don't need a lot just for a few days. Grab the person I'm with who is getting water for our trip, which the water was labeled $2.12. Go to checkout and both thise items were priced higher than what the shelf said, just too tired to argue or wait for them to look at it plus not having great luck talking to the people in the store as their English isn't perfect, I just pay. Then we have issues with the credit card machine which after multiple tries the girls help that works there telling me there is something wrong with our chip though the swipe didn't work either, plus ibused it before and after going to this store . Ww just used a different card, which would tell me they don't take American Express, seriously? There was no sign saying what payments they take but really? Two major problems at the store. First one is their credit card machine doesn't work. I confirm this afterwards by calling my bank and my bank told me that there's nothing wrong with my account. I was told by the manager that it's my card that is the problem. that was fun. the cashier asked me if I wanted to use the ATM on my $30 purchase. Um, am i mistaken that this is l walmart? I assume they could handle a visa debit card purchase. Secondly I spent the $11 on a box of chocolates for my mothers birthday and when I got home I realize that someone had eaten half the box. I can say that my experience in this store is a hit or miss because there are times that my experience is good and there are also times that it is not. The store carries a ton of stuff and everything that I could ever want and need, from groceries to clothes, home goods, etc. The store is also spacious enough and it has a nice layout where everything is easy to find. I wanted to start with their groceries. Their grocery products are great. There are a variety of choices. The products are also fresh and the quality is good. However, the stocks are not maintained. There are times when specific items are out of stock, which is very disappointing, especially when they are products that I desperately need. That is one of the problems I faced in this store. Other products are well-stocked, but there have been times when I couldn't find what I was looking for because it was already out of stock. Meanwhile, I do not have any problems with the bread the store carries because they have all the particular brands I wanted and I could think of. I also think that they have all the great brands. Prices are fair and reasonable here. They do not go higher and if they do, they only have a few differences, which is great and also the reason why I like this store. Their prices are reasonable, and they usually have lower prices than any other store. Service here is pretty nice too. The staff are friendly and helpful. Driving by and thought,"Why not get an oil change...". Two hours into it, they tell me that they don't have a filter in stock for my car. "No charge". Great. What about my time spent waiting??? They told me to get a filter and they'd put it on for me. I do that and go back there, again. Another hour wait while the service guy waits for the manager to check his work. I asked to speak to the manager, but he'd snuck out the back. They called him on the phone, but I got tired of waiting. I just said, "I guess you'll just have to read my comments on Yelp". I'd like to know why Walmart prices are going up every week. Dog food soft pieces of beef for 12 packets in a box use to be under 350. Now it's around 7.70. Why????? Try to find a load of bread under 4.00. Ketcup and Mayo 4.50 unless you get the Walmart brand. Eggs are still in the high 3.00 range. It's an insult to advertise that Walmart has the lowest prices. Their ads and setups in the store advertising savings is a lie. It's the same price as always. Stoeffer's single servings are just under 4.00 when they use to be 1.50. Im only giving this place a three star review because my mother said to give it a two.I have to be rebellious as much as i can. This is the only store we have in this immediate area that gives you everything you need in a shopping experience that you could ask for. I dont see why some people would call this location ghetto.It is what it is.All Walmarts are to a degree Ghetto.Put them in a Black or Hispanic area and that usually helps seal the deal of approval or what is ghetto and what is not This Walmart is around the corner from my moms condo in Waukegan so most of the people here in this area have no choice but to shop here.Its open 24 hours and has a really good selection of things to buy. Inside they have a Mcdonalds, a hair salon,nailshop and an optical place.This seems like a lot to work with on a day out and about. My baseline emotion toward Walmart is hatred. This one? This one makes me so angry when I visit that my husband has banned me from going in, which is unfortunate, because they have a kick ass produce section. But they never have more than four registers open, despite the dozens of people standing in line. DOZENS. I am not exaggerating. And because so few lanes are open, no one adheres to the "20 Items of Fewer" signs posted throughout the checkout area. It's like Lord of the Flies up in this piece. I have stood in line so long here that, while waiting, I determined it would have been more efficient for me to go to Jewel in Gurnee and get what I need and then return home (and home is less than a mile from this Walmart). And for the love of all things automotive, stay away from their automotive services. I went in hoping for a tire change. I stood in line so long without anyone acknowledging the line that I called the front service desk from my cell phone. The person put me on hold and then tried calling the auto counter, where I already told them I was standing. And, of course, no one answered the phone but they let it ring for 12 minutes before I hung up and called them back. I don't know how it ever got resolved because I left, and like the Pied Piper of Waukegan, six people followed me out. Even by Walmart standards, this place is in shambles. read more

One employee yells down the aisle to another employee and tells the employee to hurry loading the shelves. He then continued to walk and use horrible language to describe his work ethic. This place is just awful. Expired food. Spilled liquids that won't be cleaned up for days. Seriously, days. The best is the workforce. Some examples: -Bakers who don't speak English, yet are expected to interact with customers - A cashier who once tried to charge me $28 for one pack of cigarettes - A cashier who, instead of finding the code for cucumbers, put the code for zucchini in over and over and over. I ended up paying for 6 zucchini that I didn't get. - Employees that smoke in the building - Greeters that physically grab you if you don't show a receipt - Employees that hit on women while working - One employee refused to sell the last Nintendo Wii in stock because he was "holding it for a friend" Just a disaster. Although I am not a fan of the Walmart franchise at heart, that is not the reason for giving this one two stars. As a poor graduate student, I understand the role Walmart has in saving money, and I frequent Walmart quite regularly for the staples. I have shopped at this particular location enough times to give a fair assessment of its overall performance, and as the stars suggest, it has performed rather pitifully. My biggest issue is the difficulty the store has in keeping its shelves stocked. I would estimate that 1 in every 5 times I've visited, I have left without purchasing an item on my list because it wasn't where it was supposed to be. Some items just aren't worth getting, though. Like most Walmarts I've been to, the produce is absolutely horrendous. As I was browsing the vegetable section on one occasion, a woman next to me dolefully exclaimed how much the produce "sucked" before stamping off empty-handed. There are a plethora of other markets in the Waukegan-area that offer fresher produce at better prices, so don't bother with the garbage sold here. My biggest piece of advice, however, comes down to timing. Whatever you do, avoid coming here between 4:30-9:30 weekday afternoons/evenings. I swear, the entire town drops by to do their weekly shopping run after work. The place is often understaffed, so only a minimal number of checkout aisles are available, which causes undue congestion everywhere near the front of the store. Weekends are better because there tends to be a more equal spread of people coming and going. In summary, this location is not good by any standards. Unfortunately for me, Walmart is a necessary evil at this time in my life. But rest-assured that if it weren't, I would not be coming here again! read more

This store is better than the one on Touhy, but they are severely understaffed. The customer service is almost non-existent. There are some great employees that are very helpful, but they are so busy. This store is pretty new and they are still having a hard time keeping up with their stock. I have ran across some great employees help me when I was buying my son a basketball hoop and when I was looking for someone to help me at the customer service counter. This store is also cleaner that most Walmarts I've been to. I go to this store on my lunchbreak sometimes since it's so close. I'm not sure if I'd go here if the location wasn't so convenient. Well it is a large store and it now takes up the old Lakehurst mall location and just walking around I notice that they have the smallest beer selection(compared to any Jewel), well OK the one in Logan, OH has none but why is that? It feels like Walmart is making the decisions for me and trying to be my moral conscience. I went in checking prices for printer cartridges, not only did Walmart not have my cartridge, I was able to get a similar item at Office Depot for $10 less. The employees you do come across are helpless and act as though you're inconveniencing them! It's been open for all of two years I believe.. and its in the same shape as the Gurnee, Round Lake and Vernon Hills locations! CRAPPY! I think I've been to this store.... four or five times including the 1 time I desperately needed medicine and it was the only store close to me open 24hrs! WE NEED A 24hr WALGREENS in Gurnee! Worst Walmart I've ever been in, and I've lived in some fairly squicky places. 1. No one is friendly, at all. Not to me, not to others. It's depressing. 2. Race relations suck in this store. I'm not used to the side-eye hate vibe. I don't usually receive hostility without reason, and it's hurtful. I'm used to being treated in response to my actions.
