    Ovation Hall - corporate events

    Ovation Hall

I saw the Totally Tubular festival, which was a variety show of several 80s bands. (The original acts, not cover bands.) The venue is located inside the Ocean Casino Resort. Ovation Hall is medium sized--definitely not intimate, but also nothing like a true arena. Acoustics were pretty good, and there are giant TVs on each side of the stage to see closeups of the performers. Overall the show went smoothly, with only one or two minor technical glitches, which seemed pretty good for the first night of a showcase tour. A friend and I sat on the side of the venue and still had a clear view. I thought it was worth it for $50 tickets (per person). This was a winter show, so none of the summertime beach traffic. The casino was busy but not overwhelmingly so. It was pretty easy to find parking and locate the venue inside. (Also it's not very smoky inside.) There are drinks available in Ovation Hall itself as well as small snacks. You can get more substantial food outside in the casino. Overall, I had a good experience at Ovation Hall, and I'll keep it on my radar for future shows.

I thought that I was doing a good thing by buying aisle, second row seats using the artist presale code. My view was partially obstructed all night, with no ability of the band to migrate out that far left. Adding to that frustration was being right up against the audio stacks on the left, and they were obviously wireless because the sound kept dropping out like you were watching a movie and it was buffering. Speaking of buffering, the video screens behind the stage were lagging by a full second. I attempted to capture how bad the view and sound was in the attached images and video. Worst venue ever.

Yes, yes, yes! I said "Yes" to him, and then we said "Yes" to One Atlantic!…read more From the minute we walked into the venue for our initial visit, we were duly impressed. Swanky decor, elegant furniture, and breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Elizabeth showed us all they had to offer, and we knew this was the venue for us. Our vision was to have a less traditional wedding layout. We wanted the space to feel more like a lounge and less like a run-of-the-mill wedding reception (we requested couches and high-top tables mixed in with regular tables). One Atlantic worked with us to create and execute our unique vision. We had our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at One Atlantic and it could not have been any more perfect. Eileen and Paul were FANTASTIC during the planning, right up until (and including) the day of our wedding. Every little detail came to fruition, and everything flowed beautifully. Glasses were kept full, the excellent food was free-flowing (we had a cocktail-style reception with small plates being butlered all night), and the acoustics made for a hopping good time on the dance floor. We even ordered 150 White House subs as part of our "to go" favor, and the One Atlantic team took care of it all for us. It was exceptional! We have received non-stop compliments about the venue, the friendliness of the staff, and the amazing food. Our guests had a phenomenal time! We truly had the best evening ever at One Atlantic. And how great is it that we can honestly say that the best wedding we've been to is our own? Right on! No party is too big nor too small for One Atlantic. Check them out and get ready to "Wow" the life out of your family and friends!

And it's wheelchair accessible! (Figured I'd toss that in.) Even if I don't decide to get married, this is an expansive space appropriate for pretty much any classy shindig, corporate, social, or otherwise. Find them at the Pier Shops at Caesars. Book them early, before I do. [1] Or married at all. Though I'm taking applications... hello, ladies.

The rooms were spacious and had beautiful views, even with the snow and cold weather. The casino area offered plenty to do, with several dining options. I was a little disappointed with the check-in staff, though. The young Asian woman at the front desk was extremely rude, which made me want to leave the hotel. Additionally, there was a random table in the hallway with a tablecloth and food that had been sitting there for more than 12 hours (if not longer). -- disgusting! Despite these issues, I still had a great birthday experience, but I do wish the check-in staff had been more welcoming.

The hotel kinda felt like a maze a little bit. It was little easy to get lost. The entire hotel reeked of cigarette smoke (downside of having a casino inside a hotel). My room was a standard hotel room. I wish it had overhead lights in the room but otherwise it was fine. The walls are kind of thin though so if you're a lightsleeper like me, you may have trouble if you're on a noisy floor. The shower had good water pressure and the room was clean overall. The staff here was really nice especially at the front desk. There is a parking lot. I had my car their for 2 nights. Apparently you were supposed to get a play card in order for the parking to be free ( i was told this was a promotion until March). But I checked in after work so I came late into the evening and each time I asked about it, the window wasn't opened. So it ended up being $15 for parking when I checked out. So I would immediately ask about it so you can take advantage of the free parking.

It was cute a lot of local businesses decorated trees, and they looked so pretty lined up. I wished it was a bit better promoted than one boardwalk champion because it was pretty and festive. While I was there, I read some of the signs about the town's history. There were some great vintage signs and photos and a Mr. Peanut costume. Even if you are not here for an event, it's an informative little museum inside that's worth a few minutes of your time.

The tickets RJ purchased were front row in our section, but with "limited view" which was described as "possible infrastructure or lighting". We thought oh no big deal, maybe some sound equipment or a railing. Ok, these should have been sold as completely obstructed view. An employee from down below handed new tickets to RJ after the concert started if we wanted to move. But the row is so small and tight, I am 5 ft tall and had no leg room. We were all jammed against the railing. We thought that was nice but wished it had happened before the concert started, or that she came to the row and got us out rather than handing them up to us. No way was I going to try to get out by making 12-14 people move 1 song into the concert. So we only know they were higher up, but did not use them. At least I could see if I leaned to the left, but RJ looked at the back of this camera man all night!
