Although the case is still in the process of appeal, my anger and painful experience make me feel it is necessary to warn all consumers, even if the family-owned business has a good attitude when you go to them and I see many of admiration online. But be sure to collect good evidence in time, so that when there is a problem, you can protect yourself... In addition, I would also remind John and Maria that first, the most important thing is honesty or dishonesty, rather than the quality of technology, or the price. I have taken my car to Supreme Auto for many years and in the past have been pleased with their work and I had trust that they would charge in a fair manner. However, apparently there are new owners there now who I feel charged me a very excessive amount to install a new thermator. ($463.78) l am an 81 year old woman, living on Social Security, and really do not appreciate this. Needless to say I will be looking for an Auto Shop that I can trust for any future repairs on my car. read more

Although the owners of the company were not able to fix my car they went above and beyond the call of duty. Let me explain. So me and my gf were driving out to Fort Hays from Lawrence and the car stopped accelerating and eventually died. We pulled over and discovered the tank of coolant boiling. After some time it had all boiled off and evaporated. Got the car towed to the auto store. Come to find out the oil tank was missing its cap. We had just gotten our oil filled so we thought that it was the person who filled the oil up was at fault. Come to find out after looking at the oil that the oil had metal powder in it. So to keep the story short, also found out the fan didn't/doesn't turn on and the temperature sensors didn't work. So Supreme Automotive (keeping us informed at all time) tried replacing the temperature sensors so the radiator fan would start. The radiator fan didn't start so the car overheated, oil pressure built up and burst the cap, then the coolant boiled off and the car shut down. The engine now had oil with metal powder in it. Supreme Automotive They were very nice in explaining everything to us as they discovered things and tried their best. They tried new oil, added coolant, replaced the temperature sensors, found a new oil cap and still the car didn't work as it should've. It still drove but just barely so since they felt they didn't fix the car they WOUDLN'T ACCEPT PAYMENT for their services even though they spent over 4 hrs of work on it and replaced several things as well an oil change. They are amazing. Had ignition coil problem but broke down in Junction City. One week after coil replaced in J.C. had to go to Supreme to get it replaced with a Good part. Even cost less and done in a day!!! read more

Until recently I would've sent anybody here, they had always treated me well, done good work, and been extremely helpful. I went in yesterday because my breaks started squeaking he came back and told me that everything looked fine, the back breaks had dust on them so they cleaned them off, and the front beaks "look like somebody put cheap breaks on" well He did my front breaks a little over 6 months ago. I was in shock and was also relieved my breaks weren't completely broken I didn't say anything. But the squeaking is more like a grinding today and it's not comforting to hear him basically say his work is cheap read more

John always gives a fair estimate. Just last week I got an estimate from John that was $400 cheaper than the estimate another shop gave me (this other auto shop isn't known for jacking prices up particularly high, either.) This is the rare auto shop with integrity. Great choice for Riley County vehicle owners. Not sure what's up with Garret F.'s review...that doesn't really sound like John. He's a pretty friendly guy (especially for an auto mechanic lol.) read more

When the AC Compressor failed on my 2004 Saturn Vue, the price Supreme Auto quoted me was almost half the price of Bud's Automotive's quote. I had John do the work and one year later the compressor went out again. Once again I had Supreme Auto replace the compressor and once again it lasted just over a year before it failed. I purchased all new AC components myself this time (compressor, condenser, expansion valve, accumulator), and did the work myself. When I removed the accumulator I found it was the original part and had never been replaced (the manual says to replace it any time the compressor is replaced). John's failure to install a $30 part cost me over $1,300 in compressors. When I calmly called John to talk about it, he stated "compressors fail all the time" and hung up on me. Until recently I had a high regard for this shop, but I guess you get what you pay for. I would strongly advise anyone to take their business elsewhere. read more
