Unfortunately, the shipping company they were using at the time managed to do the impossible and lose an entire grandfather clock somewhere between Wisconsin and Kansas. To this day, I have no idea where it ended up, but I never blamed The Harp Gallery for that fiasco. Fast forward to this year: I spotted a magnificent Wooton desk on Facebook, immediately went to The Harp Gallery's website, called the store, and bought it before someone else could beat me to it. This time, Harp handled the delivery themselves, and the entire experience was flawless. Communication was excellent, the desk arrived exactly as described, and the delivery team was outstanding. They were professional, careful, courteous, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was placed exactly where it needed to be. Buying a 19th-century Wooton desk isn't exactly an everyday purchase, but Harp made the process remarkably easy. The desk was fairly priced, the service was exceptional, and the entire transaction reminded me why they've earned such a strong reputation. If you're looking for quality antiques and people who genuinely care about getting them safely into your home, I highly recommend The Harp Gallery. I was immediately greeted upon entering and the saleswoman offered a complimentary clean of my wedding rings. They haven't sparkled like this in years! In fact, I hardly recognized my raw diamond which was so dirty it was starting to look like a meteor. It shines most majestically. What a great service. As I was about to depart empty handed, I found Uno de 50 products, including a good luck necklace. Perfect! I bought it and received a 10% discount. I hadn't received it was a sale weekend! The saleswoman gift wrapped the necklace at no additional charge. The jewelry store seems quite popular with locals. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I was surprised that none of the jewelry is made locally to Wisconsin. That would be my only recommendation. Interestingly enough, this store has gorgeous wooden handmade clocks.

Brought in a 41 year old anniversary grandfather clock for 2 issues. Fix the chimes & to identify a…read moreweight drop clunk. The chimes were fixed to satisfaction. He did not even look at the 2nd issue. After getting the clock home I noticed the #1 had been knocked off the face and super glued back on. Super glue was all over the number and face area. The clock smith admitted he had done the damage. But would not pay to remove the superglue or the face of the clock. He did not disclose the damage he had done at time of pick up. He charged full price for the chime repair and cleaning. I now have a very devalued clock I purchased for our 1st year anniversary. I find the unreported damage and willingness to correct it to be dishonest.

Because…read moreRhinelander is a rather small city, there are not as many clock repair shops available as in Milwaukee, for example. I found this company by researching on the Internet. My request was, I think, a bit unusual: a friend, who had taken our grandfather clock apart and had taken the parts out of state to a repair shop where he lives, was unable to come back to the Rhinelander area to put the clock back together. I thus contacted Stacy, the owner of this wonderful shop, and told him of my situation; I then asked for his (hopeful) help in putting this clock back together. Despite having a very crowded schedule and a very wide-ranging territory, Stacy was able to fit me into his schedule. When Stacy arrived at our home, he immediately went to work on the clock, explaining every step to me and highlighting the details of this clock's manufacture. The depth and breadth of his experience are amazing. Further, Stacy treated this clock as if it were his own. Just as important, he was very patient, kind, and friendly with me, his client. Stacy's price was very reasonable, particularly considering his knowledge and experience. I wish we had more clocks to repair - Stacy is THAT good. He may do a bit of work on watches, but I'm not completely sure about that. I cannot say enough good things about Stacy. If/When we have any clock (or maybe watch) repairs that need to be done - and done correctly the first time - we're taking those items to Stacy, to the Wind Me Up Clock Shop in Rhinelander - and nowhere else. If/When the time comes that we need a new clock, we're also going only to him. Stacy mentioned that his wife had urged him to go into the clock repair profession full-time; after an extended period of time, he did that. I am thankful that he acted on her guidance. I don't know what the going price is for clock repairs, but the cost seemed fair to me, he gives free quotes, and when he needed to increase the price of my repair (very slightly), he gave me a call to confirm before going ahead.
