What I also appreciated was that they do not just focus on selling you solar. They also looked at energy efficiency and helped identify upgrades that could reduce my overall usage, which I think is a big part of the value. Saving energy and producing energy should go hand in hand. A full battery system was out of my budget for now, but I was glad to learn there were still daylight backup options that let me use solar power during a daytime outage. That made solar feel a lot more practical for me now, while still giving me the option to add a battery later. Most of the delays I experienced had more to do with New Orleans permitting and Entergy-related bureaucracy than Solar Alternatives. Unfortunately, that seems to come with the territory here. Even so, my total timeline was about 3 months, which still seems better than a lot of what I found online, where 4 to 6 months looks pretty normal.

RIPOFF ALERT: This company is looking to take advantage of their craft. Ciro, their "lead…read moretechnician" came out to my family's home to assess our A/C system and provide an estimate. After waiting a day from their initial assessment to "review cost of parts", they returned to our residence and quoted us a whopping $3,273.00 for the work. When I asked questions such as which parts needed to be repaired or what was the cost breakdown of parts/labor, Ciro could not provide an adequate response, became offended and told me I "crossed the line". Wow, really? The number $3,273 seems really precise but he could not tell me how he reached it. Bottom line is they saw my family in a dire situation but assumed we were not intelligent enough to ask the proper questions to understand the repair. But there is good news. We had a second company come out: Premiere Air Conditioning & Heating. They assessed the situation and even shared the part number that needed to be replaced. I tried to find the part at a better price and could not (because they have good suppliers and were not trying to up charge for the part). They were able to provide a cost breakdown between parts and labor for the job. We paid less than 1/3 (~$1000) for the job instead of $3,273. A majority of that cost was the parts. Believe me when I say, stay away from Trinity Home Services. They are looking to take advantage of you. If you honestly feel that you are not trying to take advantage of clients than you should increase transparency. You should be able to provide a very basic breakdown of the "long term" work you are performing on behalf of your customer. You state you choose not to perform band-aid fixes but STILL have not sent me a summary of the issues you discovered that led you to your estimate. I did pay the inspection fee, at least I deserve that? The best answer I received from our discussion on the work you were performing was "we are taking this journey together". This leaves me with the impression that you are not confident in what needs to be repaired and are quoting steep to make it worth your while. Not the way to do business in my honest opinion. The conversation definitely felt one way and reminds me of other rip off conversations I have had with unscrupulous business men in the past.

This seems unambiguous, but I was told a repair estimate would be $85. I found them on the Gree Comfort contractor list. I need to use one of the contracts from their short list in order to get a better warranty on the system I plan on buying after I confirm mine isn't worth fixing. I wasn't expecting a free repair estimate when I went to their site, but since they advertise it and then don't follow through I don't trust them.

The product options they offered were first rate and broad range. The service they provided was not only top shelf prior to and during installation, they have continued to monitor my system and offer and make improvements well after my last payment. When it was time for payment they realized they quoted me an older cheaper price. They did not attempt to coerce me into paying the correct price. They even apologized for misquoting me the incorrect price and stuck to the lower pricing that I was quoted and accepted that payment.
