I absolutely love their new brick and mortar. I love that I can have a beer or a cocktail with my delicious smash burger. The restaurant reminds me of a classic old school burger shop. We visited on a sunny summer Friday mid day. I am glad we waited because they get lines out the door at typical meal times. The staff were friendly and informative. We sat at the bar so we could see the kitchen staff grilling burgers. Of course we ordered a Double Rodeo Burger -COWBOY CANDY, CHEESE, BBQ MAYO, FUNYUN and a Junior Burger -CHEESE & KETCHUP. Both were excellent of course because Sure Shot knows how to make a proper smash burger. In fact I think they might have helped started the trend. Or at least gave us all a standard to live by. As a big fan of smash burgers Sure Shot has been on my list for awhile, they were top of mind the week I stopped in as I'd just seen an insta post where someone had taken (literally cut off) their power cord. Figured that was my sign to stop in! The cart is situated in a pretty chill spot with tons of covered seating. It was a weekday & well after the noon lunch rush, but there was still a steady stream of folks coming through. I was really stoked to try what I'd heard was one of the best burgers in the city. Like seriously stoked...burgers make me happy lol! Speaking solely on my order (single cheeseburger/fries/fry sauce) Sure Shot is a must-try! A YouTube foodie video about Portland Food Carts piqued my interest in this place. Out of all the food cart stations I've been to so far, this was probably the smallest. Most of the carts were closed. I'm guessing this may be because there is a much bigger food cart station a short drive away. I actually drove past a super crowded brick and mortar smashburger restaurant on my way here, but was determined to try this specific burger. I ordered a single cheeseburger with everything. Service was very friendly. My burger didn't take long to prepare-- just long enough to be sure it was fresh. Okay, so, first of all, yes, it actually qualified as a smashburger. Out of all the smashburgers I've tried in Oregon so far, this was the first that technically actually was a smashburger. As you can see from my photo, the patty was smashed thin, and there was some caramelization. Not a lot, but some. The toppings were a bit of sauce, onions, and pickles. Basic AF. For $6.50, I thought it was a decent value. It was like a fresher, slightly higher quality version of a fast food burger. In my personal opinion, the flavor of the meat patty was not enough to stand on its own. It was on the bland side. It really needed more seasoning, sauce, or toppings. While this won't be my personal favorite new stop, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a plain, basic, classic smashburger. read more

This is my first driving review via speech to text to write this review. Oh man, that Sure Shot Burger was the best smashed burger I've had in my life as of 2/21/2025. Simple and good; it had onions, cheese. The burger patty was really thin, well-seasoned. With the onions, it complimented it a lot. It tasted as if McDonald's or White Castle would have a smashed burger. As well as the fries tasted like McDonald's. It was fast; my order took 3 minutes to complete because smashed burgers don't take long to cook and had a coke as well. One of my friends had been raving about the cart for a few weeks and convinced to give this place a try. The menu is pretty simple and the price is on point. I ordered the single cheese smash burger with fries and a bottle of Squirt. The food is cooked to order and I was given a buzzer. They have a covered patio with heated lamps so melt myself warm and enjoyed the music ambience. I picked up my food and soda to enjoy consumption and the fries were crisp, just the right amount of salt. And the portion size was perfect. The spicy ketchup was tangy and flavorful with a little kick as a finishing touch. I then tasted the burger and the toppings held well together. With each bite I could enjoy the special sauce, the onions, the cheese, and the seasoned patty with flawless harmony. I let my friend know that it reminded me of how old school burgers used to taste like when I was younger. Was tasty and what you'd expect of a double smash. The chicken nuggets were coated in a ranch powder. They were tasty, crispy little sponges. Staff was friendly. Wait wasn't bad on a rainy Saturday. There are tents with heating just right there. I opted to take my food home as a patron under the tent sounded really sick and was coughing all over (ew). Still happily plowing my way through all the smash burgers out there, I ended up at Sure Shot on Saturday around 12:30. There wasn't a line at the truck ordering, but there were quite a few awaiting their meals in the tent seating area. It ended up being about a 20 minute wait, but it was worth it. The burgers are slight in toppings but satisfying on flavor...and most importantly in smashness...with fabulous crispy edges and a very tasty smash sauce. We each ordered a double and shared an order of fries. My only suggestion would be to cut back on the fry salt some. But other than that, the food was great and service exceptionally friendly. I'm on the quest for all smash burgers in town and Sure Shot did not disappoint. It's a new cart a little farther from downtown but it was in a great location (seems like old parking lot) of bar next door so it's great with plenty of seating and heat lamps. Easy to enjoy your burger with some brews or vice versa if you want to step out from the bar to grab something to eat. During the rush it gets busy but take the time to walk down the area and explore shops or grab a brew to help pass the time! Simple and no frills burger with a great char on the meat, toasted bun, and melty american cheese. I would get a double to get a more filling meal. You probably can do their bag of burgers as well to share if you want since I think one patty wouldn't be enough for me at least. Pair it with their house sauce, ranch, or even spicy ketchup -- it will cost you $.50 for each additional sauce though. We did all three and it was nice to mix and match - the spicy ketchup seemed like it was mixed with some old bay seasoning. Another clear winner was their curly fries which were a great addition to the meal and would definitely get them again. Great crunch and seasoning. The portion size was also worth the price and was great to share between two people. Did I mention how friendly the guys running the cart were too!? I was craving a-smashed burger today. They're not just regular burgers you know. This one was in a hip little neighborhood. It's a food truck beside an amazing pub. I got their special double patty with cheese. Special sauce is yummy. House made pickles, crisp, and tasty. The caramelized onions were wonderful. Perfect bun to burger ratio, and not too much sauce. This was the best burger I've had in a while. It had that crispy Lacey crust with melted cheese. Oh man, The fries were hot and tasty. I enjoyed the spicy ketchup,, although I'm a mustard girl. The burger master that made my lunch was super friendly. He was patient, when I asked some questions. I got just what I wanted. They have the Mexican cokes. Yum. A neat burger spot, recently moved to NE 42nd Ave outside Oakshire Beer Hall. Super simple menu, my favorite aspects of which are the bag-o-burgers and the option to sub an Impossible patty. They have fries, of course, but brussels are a nice addition. Friendly staff. They do get busy so be prepared for a little wait - enjoy a beer at Oakshire next door, perhaps. Amongst all the possible burger options and forms out there, the best comparison I can make for these burgers is that they're "McDonalds" style. I've been to this place a few times and always considered it pretty good food for a reasonable price. A genuine smash burger with crispy edges unlike other places masquerading as such. T'was the night before October fifth when I wound up eating there for the first of two days in a row. The Buffalo Burger currently on rotation is phenomenal. Had to go back the next day just to make sure. No joke, I might boycott if that Burger doesn't come back every other month or is available via some kind of secret menu. It's a small spot in a cozy part of town. Lots of choices nearby for desserts or alternatives to burgers. They also now have nuggets which is great cause it's basically all my kids want when we go out. Order online for prompt pickup or grab a beverage from a nearby watering hole while you wait in person. Staff is always laidback and helpful. Order the buffalo burger and tell them it should be available year round. So I don't sound like a total fanboi, I disliked the ranch dip. So my husband and I drove from Hillsboro to Portland on a rainy Saturday to try out this delicious food cart. We saw it once near a Beer Garden in Tigard, the week after they closed and I was so disappointed I had to find them and try them. First off, the outdoor seating is abundant! Super great area, and dogs were allowed (or at least we saw a few). The parking wasn't terrible and just across the street is a consignment shop which was fun to walk around. Now for the star of the show; FOOD! My husband and I ordered the 1. Hatch Chile Burger: this was literal perfection with a crispy burger skirt. They do these burgers right with the perfect smash. I will say it wasn't as greasy as I was expecting and I was pleased!!! 2. Crispy Brussel: loved this side! Nice idea of feeling healthy while I scarf down a burger, but such delicious flavors 3. Hatch Chile Fries: so this was my only sad note. The flavors were great, however the cheese sauce is sooooo thin that it made the fries super soggy so quick! My first bite was already soggy and I hate that feeling. Would probably not order again and just get regular fries for myself! Overall, I loved the food, however the knock of a star was just on pricing and the gooey fries! Maybe if the cheese sauce was thicker it would be better. However still think this place is great and would come back, especially for that BURGER! read more

This is my favorite burger in PDX. Yeah I said what I said! You can get a single cheeseburger for $6! What a steal! Their fries are equally delicious too. Sometimes they have curly fries and waffle fries too but I've only tried their regular fries which are always super fresh, hot, and crispy. You get a sauce of your choice with fries and you can pay for extra sauce as well. I really like their ranch and their house sauce too. They have a yummy spicy ketchup but they also provide free packets if you're into that. I got there right at opening on a Saturday and shortly after there was a line behind me. Get there early, especially if they have a yummy special you're interested in. You can eat outside in their heated tent which is connected with Oakshire Brewing. The regular has spread (cheese, pickle, onion, and burger sauce) and the fries have 3 dips to choose from (spicy ketchup, garlic ranch, and burger sauce). Got the burger sauce and it complemented the fries. The truck, itself, was clean. There's an outdoor dining area (lots of covered seating for rainy days) near the truck and ample parking on the street or in the surrounding area. Payment was easy (cash, card, and Apple Pay). Food came out in 17 mins and was solid. The service was great. Simple buzzer system (buzzer given after order placement that buzzes when your food is ready). Come for the burgers...stay for the Brussels sprouts! I know that sounds goofy, but they are fantastic, crispy, fried and yummy toppings! The burgers are smashed burgers but there is a very crispy edge on each patty. The double hatch burger is phenomenal with delicious savory and spicy hatch green chilies. Loved the Cadillac fries, waffle style, with melted cheese, pickled onions and special sauce! Great place! Only downside was no outdoor seating if you have kids. Especially if you are waiting with a cold draft beer or frosé at Uptown. We ordered a double, a special, and the Cadillac fries. I am super picky with my fries and I loved these!!
