I still enjoy coming to this Surf City Squeeze inside Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, CA these days. It is very easy to spot on the second floor and it has two self service kiosks. I love all smoothies here. For some reason, I paid $7.95 for this cup which actually looked much smaller than advertised. $7.95 is supposed to be for the 20oz. cup. $6.95 for 12oz. and $9.95 for the 32oz. That's what the menu above the counter shows and I also selected the 20oz. sized cup at kiosk. I'm not going to complain today since it's still one of my favorite spots here. I didn't realize the cup size was smaller than expected until I started driving out onto the freeway. Cashier was quick and polite. They have iced chillers and lemonades as well. Surf City Squeeze in San Francisco back in the early year 2000s will always be my ultimate favorite. Good branding and great tasting fruit smoothies. Decent for hydration stop. Not sure if I would want to make my way out here just for smoothies nowadays. Shopping mall is looking pretty quiet and empty. I still like their smoothies though. read more

Got the chocolate covered strawberry w/ low cal smoothie mix on a warm Friday afternoon. Ordering on the kiosk was easy, the wait was about 5-6 minutes, and there was zero interaction with staff, as the worker just placed my smoothie on the pickup counter and called out my order. The taste was just right. Cold and creamy, the strawberry flavor strong, and just a hint of chocolate. It's not as awesome as the Concord location, but I have no complaints. read more

This Surf City Squeeze location is in the Stoneridge Shopping Center. Plenty of shared mall parking - best lot to park at is by the Men's Wearhouse entrance. Ordering is through a kiosk now, which is more convenient. It seems like they do not have enough people working - I have been here 2 times recently and both times have a good amount of people waiting for their drinks (one evening, it was 1 employee working and the other evening, it was 2 employees working). I get my usual - their Strawberry Banana smoothie. Both times I have been here recently was not consistent. One time, it took a really long time because it was only 1 employee working / making drinks, but the drink was made well and it was refreshing. The other time, there were 2 people working, so it did not take as long, but the drink was made pretty bad - it was a bit chalky / not blended well and the flavor was off. I honestly would not mind waiting a bit longer, if it was made correctly. read more

It's hot outside and we needed something to cool us down. We stopped here as it's all natural no artificial colors or sweeteners. It was delicious. So tasty and full of flavor. It has a burst of strawberry and a touch of banana. The banana did not overpower the strawberry. You made your purchase using a kiosk. It was a simple order. You pick the flavor and size. Then you can choose your add-ins. Each add in had a price listed. You could even add whipped cream for a price. The kiosk took credit card only. After you make your purchase a receipt spits out with your number on it. The wait wasn't long. There was only one person in front of us who ordered 4 drinks. The wait was less than 5 minutes. I went to Stoneridge Mall last week to pick-up an order I placed elsewhere. On my way out, it was near closing time and decided to stop here and get a juice. There was a young girl mopping. She stopped and came right to the register, she didn't bother to wash her hands after handling the mop (who knows what else... possibly the trash) just went straight to register and handled cash and proceeded to make my drink. I wasn't going to say anything until I picked up my drink and it slipped and fell due to the cup extra wet, mind you NO napkins were visible in sight!! The employee didn't bother to assist in any way. When I asked if she could make me another drink, she flatly refused and said "You will have to pay for another drink". So that translates poor service especially with no effort to do anything. The worker's must be trained a bit better in sanitation and food/beverage handling and being able to attract people to want to return. Very disappointed. read more

Came and placed an order on kiosk. After I processed my order, I asked the worker if he could split my 32oz order into 2 cups. He proceeds to tell me that there's an option on when I put my order. I told him that I've already processed my order and paid for it. His comment was, "well there's still an option when you put your order in." Hence, I already indicated that I've already processed my order and asked, "will there be a problem with that?" His comment was, "no but..." then stopped himself. Mind you, I'm the only customer and when he gave me my order, he still put it in the 32oz cup. I commented and said, "I asked for it to be split into 2cups." When I come to surf city for a smoothie, it's usually for a dessert or a treat. My favorite smoothie that I've been getting for over a decade is the blueberry pineapple smoothie. Sometimes it's lighter in color but usually it's a nice purple color. Their strawberry banana smoothie is great. Surf City Squeeze is a walk up counter (there's no store space to speak of) in the Stoneridge Mall that serves sweet smoothies, fruit smoothies, power smoothies, chillers (made with fruit, juice, and ice), and fresh squeezed lemonade, carrot, and orange juice. They even have supplements you can add to the smoothies. Mom and I each ordered a carrot/orange combo and watched her squeeze it right in front of us. Talk about FRESH! Feel free to look at the pictures I posted. We asked her to blend them with ice, and she did. In the future I'd ask her to blend in more ice, but that's just a personal preference. As to taste? Well, it tasted like fresh squeezed carrot and orange juice. There's no comparison to the bottled stuff like Odwalla or Bolthouse (no offense to either company) it was just so much... fresher. I wish I could think of another word but I'm too lazy to open another tab to pull up a thesaurus. It wasn't particularly cheap, but it came in a huge cup so I'm certainly not complaining about the value received. What's great is, if they're feeling you, they will throw in extra bananas or add some chocolate to make you a unique drink. I went there so much before, during, and after work they started making my usual as I was walking up and would charge me after they made it. They've started to pick up business more and more as people catch on to them, so at the wrong time you can definitely see a line, though they usually move pretty quick with all that experience making drinks. However, I must warn you; occasionally you'll contemplate heading back to Starbucks to throw away your dollars. Every time I've done this I have regretted it. Today I went in and asked for a Strawberry Banana smoothie and this time I got the real ACTION :) The lady put this weird liquid into the drink and I'm like thinking: 'WTF is that?" Their juices are yummy, but I had to give them one star because non of the staff are using gloves. They make the drinks and also stay at the register, touch everything and get your credit card or cash, and they make your drink with the same hands that they touched the cash.
