When we entered an hour before closing, we made the mistake to sit and pause to look over the menu. It was a mistake because it seemed like the front door kept swinging open as wave after wave of hungry visitors poured in. My guess is these folks were all returning from Joshua Tree National Park. In fact, it felt like nearly everyone there had just come from the park. The business concept appears thoughtfully geared toward travelers, particularly those with a bit of disposable income and a discerning palate. Also I wanted to get peanut butter on my açaí bowl but almost all toppings were an extra $2.00 for a small scoop of peanut butter which feels like a rip off for such a small modification. Since I was down the street charging my work laptop at the Public Library, it was perfect for the short distance and parking. Inside, it's like any other juice shop, and the young man who took and made my order was really nice. He had pride in his work, too. That's the highest compliment I can give. I had an issue with a tooth amidst a root canal at the time, so he avoided using ice to prevent any problems. Given the heat outside, it would have been better, but better safe than sorry is a good maximum. The fruit was fresh and all flavors merged well. I drank it too quickly perhaps, but it quenched my thirst and need for nutrition.

I was delighted that it was open on the 4th of July (the ACTUAL day, not just the holiday weekend!) and I ordered a large smoothie that was out of this world delicious! I hate that I can't tell you what it was called, but the young lady that worked there said that I'd find it very refreshing. Indeed she was right! I am definitely going to be back soon as it was really filling and yummy and the price was reasonable - I think $9 or $10.
