My last visit to Cold Stone Creamery was over 20 years ago, and I remember loving it. So walking in this time felt a little like revisiting an old memory... just not quite the same ending. The space itself is fun and a bit quirky, with some souvenirs for sale and a couple of extra sweet-tooth stations beyond the ice cream. It has personality, I'll give it that. Service was the weak spot. Our server seemed to be juggling multiple stations at once, which might explain why the interaction felt a bit flat. Not unfriendly exactly, just not engaged. More going through the motions than welcoming you in. The ice cream, though, still holds its ground. Creamy, tasty, and exactly the kind of indulgence you're craving after a long, hot day. That part hasn't lost its magic. All in, it satisfied the craving, but didn't quite recreate the memory. Still worth it for the ice cream, just don't expect the full nostalgic glow to show up with it. read more

As I watched with morbid fascination bordering on disgust wiping his hand on his pants leg as he moved on to another flavor, I realized he had started with the MINT ice cream. I said out loud "oh no! That was the mint!" My BF looked at me and my horrified face and said "Let's go..." And that is what we did. As I was trying to decide on what to indulge in instead the other person working there offered me a coffee smoothie that she said tasted great. And suggested adding some caramel in for sweetness. Best coffee smoothie I've ever had and look forward to having it again. Horrible customer service every single time I have been to this location. Today I ordered online only to arrive to them not having ice cream, which I understood since they were having an AC problem. I was told that the manager was across the street at another store and he was the only one that could do a refund and I was told to come back at four for either my ice cream or refund. I arrive at 4 expecting to get my ice cream or refund and was told the manager left for the day. I had the young man call his manager (Eric) and was told that he would not be doing my refund today and that he does not work on my timeline. HORRIBLE customer service! It was a Monday, post NYE holiday tourism. The girl working was so kind and attentive. I'm sure during the summer this place can get out of hand without more than 4 employees. But during the winter, you get full customer service! I only came for chocolates, but was hoping for hot chocolate or some form of espresso/coffee options. The ice cream looked delicious though! About 8:15p ,we enter the Coldstone and stated that we wanted the same ice cream cone that was on the poster. The employee continue to organize whatever was necessary behind the desk and did not approach us for service. We had to approach her to ask her about our gift card and how much was on it. When it was time for us to order, we walked over to the area to start ordering and she continue to stay behind the cash register as if we were not about to become a customer. Once we got her to come over and start our order, I had to walk out to go use the restroom since the restroom was closed due to flooding in the store. My 14-year-old son continued to make his order that we already discuss with Shanna M. Shanna M. had a name tag on that said Joe. Her coworker, who looked like the manager came over and had no identification on or apron. I asked for the order to be corrected and my 14-year-old son was smart enough to ask if he can just be put on the side in a cup. They refused to do that when I gave them the information in the first paragraph. That's when they both became defensive, and stayed at their recap of what occurred, and refused to move on to putting the items in a separate cup as was suggested. We had our gift card and was ready to pay the difference. The cops were called on us because we stayed asking for our order to be corrected. We also let it be known that the two ladies were being inappropriately behaved due to the fact that they were working. I had to remind them that I was their elder and also happened to have a masters degree and was going to make sure that they learned about the new special selection and the fact that we had already made it clear what we wanted. Shanna M. insinuated that my 14 year older did not order correctly. At the end, our order was never corrected, the police were called on us, no receipt was ever given to us, the employees did not have on a name badge, one employee did not even have on an apron. FYI, we are all African-American people, and that is the worst part of this review! Ice cream ratio to mix ins was about 5 to 1! I ordered the cake batter batter batter in a love it and only got 2 pieces of cookie dough and maybe 2-3 pieces of brownie. My nephew got chocolate ice cream with M&M's and gummy bears, I think he got 2 gummy bears and 6-7 M&M's. To top it off, it wasn't even mixed well, it looked like they just threw the scarce amount of toppings in to the ice cream and did one fold over and called it a day. She had such a beautiful smile and was so pleasant. She had a wonderful personality and took such good care of me and even my dog with a dog treat. I did not expect that and my dog was super happy. The other guy who was there also asked if I needed anything and I told him I was being helped. Poor service to me is: No smiles Not acknowledging you Rude Doesn't speak at all I had smiles, great attitudes, helpfulness and, even made my dog happy! That is opposite of poor service. Cold stone ice cream the name should say it all. A cold stone makes the ice cream stay cool while they add mix in's so that you have a nice cold ice cream with Mixings. The staff are amazing at the cold stone in 29 palms although. The management seems to think it's good to turn off the "cold stone" before they're closed thusly serving melted ice cream anywhere near closing time. Still very poor customer service. Several employees were gathered in the back room while customers were waiting to be served. When friends of the employees walked in, employees came out of the back room and waited on them while ignoring the customers who were waiting to be served. I personally waited 17 minutes with other customers. We all just walked out. It's hard to support our local businesses when local customers receive such poor service and are ignored. I revisited this establishment and it was an overall great experience. It was very busy, so the table we sat at did have debris on it; however, the employees were cleaning the tables to the best of their ability. The smoothies I ordered took no more than 5 minutes to make. That is smoothies, so more than one I ordered. The customer service, by the owner, was excellent. He was so friendly to my daughter and to my wife. He offered samples and was very patient. My daughter was so excited that she didn't know what she wanted, but his encouragement of the ice cream helped her along. His excellent customer service was not just toward us. I can see some people reading this and saying it is only because I wrote my prior reviews is why he is friendly. That is not the case. He was friendly to the customers before us and after us. He also greeted us with a loud "Welcome" when we entered, along with others following behind us. Overall the visit left me feeling very positive, regardless of my past experiences. Yesterday was my 1st time going into this location. I was impressed with the cleanliness and greeting I received upon entering. I came in to pick up a cake I ordered. I ordered a large sheet ice cream cake in chocolate (serves 40) the employee brought it out and it was gorgeous and masculine just like we asked for. Re my most recent review: As I noted, there were people ahead of me in line. That's OK. It just means that they wanted a treat too. A employee was doing her thing to put together an order. Again OK. That's how orders are filled. The employee was working hard--firm ice cream can be recalcitrant--again OK. Ideally, another employee might have assisted in dealing with the three customers already in line, and with the two more who were coming in. But if such an employee was not available, again OK. What was not OK was the woman I mentioned (employee? manager? relative?) who gave no sign of recognizing the existence of the busy employee, and particularly not the slightest sign or word (e.g. "We'll be with you as soon as we can.") to the waiting customers as she zoomed by. That woman has a very great deal to learn about dealing with people, much less customers. Please understand that I do not believe that she is malicious. Rather, I think she is thoughtless and self-absorbed, forgetting that she and the business are there for the benefit of customers, not the other way around. read more

They mislabel everything in the store. You will go to buy a cake, and it ends up costing 5$ more. You ask why it's mislabeled and they say oh that is was by accident. But, you go back and look at all the cakes.... they are all mislabeled. My wife went to buy ice cream today and it costed 3$ more, she asked why... they mislabeled it again. There were three individuals working the afternoon I went to Cold Stone Creamery. There may have been more, but I only saw three. It wasn't busy or crowded. My server kept pushing a free topping on my even though I repeatedly told him I didn't want any topping. As I paid, I reached for a napkin to find the container empty. I asked for a napkin and was told they were in the container. When I indicated it was empty, I was told to go to another container, which was also empty. He said he guessed he could go in back and get me a napkin if I wanted. Another server wanted to know what the problem was and referred me to the empty containers. At some point someone from the back retrieved a napkin for me. I turned to the tables to eat and found every one of them very dirty. The ice cream was so-so.
