A diamond in the rough. Desert Hot Springs is mostly confined to the main drag with a few crosstreets extending the business district. I was in need of a natural juice for hydration and cleanse and saw this shop on Yelp. Since I was down the street charging my work laptop at the Public Library, it was perfect for the short distance and parking. Inside, it's like any other juice shop, and the young man who took and made my order was really nice. He had pride in his work, too. That's the highest compliment I can give. I had an issue with a tooth amidst a root canal at the time, so he avoided using ice to prevent any problems. Given the heat outside, it would have been better, but better safe than sorry is a good maximum. The fruit was fresh and all flavors merged well. $17.50 I believe it was for a sandwich and a smoothie. Got a ham and cheese sandwich along with a chocolate mountain smoothie without the chocolate (so it became a peanut butter banana smoothie). We also got a fruit plate. We've gotten this smoothie three times now, ordered the same way. First time it was amazing, you tasted both the peanut butter and banana equally. Second time they made it bad and it was basically milk (not a smoothie consistency but literally liquid milk) with a little peanut butter flavor but faint. This time it was thick again like a smoothie should be but we tasted no banana. It had a mild peanut butter flavor and that's about it. So disappointing I would say. The ham and cheese sandwich was huge, it was good. Had three slices of bread I did not expect it but honestly I'd rather had just two. It was absolutely drowning in mayonnaise though, making the bread pretty soggy. The fruit cup was fine but none of the fruit was particularly sweet like one would hope. This place is small and cute. Only 4 tables so not quite the kind of place to eat at unless it's a quick lunch or something like that. Price is a bit expensive. read more

We stayed close to this shop during my stay out here in the desert. I didn't want to have a big lunch so I opted for a smoothie. This decorations were really cute. Lots of plants and paintings of papayas. When we got in, there was one customer in front of us. The worker took our order (4 smoothies and a coffee), and we sat down. I felt so bad for the women, she was working by herself. More customers came in, so she was definitely backed up. We waited about 40 mins for our drinks. I don't know that I would wait that amount of time for our drinks, but the smoothies were really good. read more

Came here to grab sandwiches and smoothies however they do not offer sandwiches in the evening. It took almost an hour for three smoothies and cut up cucumbers when we were the only customers in the shop. Smoothies ended up being room temperature and we never received an acknowledgement of how long it would take. You're expected to put your own sauce on the fruit. I really want to support but this was pretty frustrating especially after we advised we were hungry and needed to grab dinner since there were not serving sandwiches. Their stuff is really good except sometimes I feel like the owner doesn't like to take requests. Example I ordered a crepe but I didn't want the Nutella and she told me "those are the flavors that taste good together" so I chose a different crepe because she didn't want to change her recipe it was a little odd. Little expensive but they're good if you have a sweet tooth their fraps are sweet but good. Black coffee is not my favorite-I am a black coffee lover so I don't recommended this place for that. read more

Last time I been I rated this place a 4 stars not sure why. I walked in I had one person ahead of me, the lady was by herself but she was still able to greet me. (two days in a row) very very sweet lady worked the counter and kitchen :) the shop itself is very cutesy with little art decos everywhere and papayas hehe there were reviews saying the drinks and food take a while but i believe it is because she cuts up ALL the fresh fruit ingredients on the spot! (she was cutting up the mango fresh for my smoothie!) also she went very fast for my day 2 visit where there was ~30 of us in the shop ordering! (took 20ish mins total for everyone to get their drinks) drinks were incredibly fresh, refreshing, delicious and healthy! Amazing place that you'd never expect to have such mouth watering sandwiches!!! Four of us went here after a hike for some tuna sandwiches which blew our minds. They were served on this incredible delicious bread with nuts and it was packed with fresh lettuce, carrot ribbons, jicama, and crispy fried cheese and it was served warm. Like a healthy tuna melt!!! I have no idea what I'm doing but I asked the staff for recommendations and she mentioned a drink and the vanilla alternative. Went here with much anticipation for the first time this Saturday for a nice crepe desert. We arrived at 7:20 pm and the people in front of us took a long time in ordering as they were putting in several orders for themselves and the people they were on the phone with. After the orders were taken the workers proceeded to make these orders and ten minutes later i was able to proceed to the cash register and place my order for the crepe. I was pretty much disappointed to learn that I couldn't order a crepe per the girl at the register because they were getting ready to close. They didn't close for another half an hour and nowhere on the restaurant is this rule listed. I went for my second choice which was a mangoneada Instead. I was disappointed in this too because it was more spicy than it was sweet and the mangoneada had a total of four little pieces of mango in it. Not worth the five dollars. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed with their customer service or their food and I won't be going there again read more
