    Wake surfing
    Beth C.

My partner and I had so much fun wake surfing with captain Mike. It was my first time wake surfing, and Mike was a great teacher. I was up and surfing after just a few tries. Mike gave some great feedback so I felt myself improving and getting more comfortable each time The views on the lake were perfect and the boat is extremely nice and cushy, and could probably fit a good amount of people comfortably. They also provided water, towels, life jackets and some great speakers which was great. I'd definitely go back if I'm ever in Lake Powell and would recommend going - it was just so much fun. Even if you think it'll be too difficult you might surprise yourself

Surf lake Powell is Page's premier boat and PWC service!! If i could give them 10 stars i would. Rob, Amy and Shaina are all pros at what they do - friendly, knowledgeable, fun and incredibly easy to work with. They helped us navigate some challenges in our planning and were always available for questions before, during and after our trip. We had the most amazing time and cannot wait to be back again!! Thanks Surf lake powell for helping to make our vacation so incredible!

Had a great experience with Surf Lake Powell, they took great care of us and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. One of our seadoos wasn't functioning properly so they came down right away with another one and they stayed past regular working hours to help us check them back in . Thank you Amy, Rob, AJ and the rest of the staff!

Amazing customer service! We rented a jet ski the week before Labor Day and I was super impressed. The equipment was meticulously maintained and we had absolutely no problems. Flawless execution with launch and retrieval. Made our trip absolutely amazing! A huge THANK YOU to Rob for making this an almost entirely stress free outing and for going above and beyond when we needed him most.

Jake saved our Lake Powell trip after we had some trouble with our own boat. Super nice setup and a great experience!

I'll say the customer service at the shop was amazing; REALLY nice girls. We asked if we could take…read moreour boards there. She said yes but the benefit of using them was they carried the boards down and up a steep hill. We were there on Saturday April 25th. So we rented two paddle boards and she warned us about the winds. It was like $155. She was nice so we went for it. We get to the site and are waiting around. They haven't even taken the boards off the truck, but we were fine waiting. Layla finally made it up the HILL and had 2 boards taken off the truck and laid on the ground. I asked if any of the MANY men who were there and carrying kayaks down, was going to carry them down. She said no, you carry them. And that hill was STEEP. I figured meh, okay. I was annoyed since we were told they'd be ready for us at the bottom. Layla carried my paddle. Once I saw the hill, I was even more annoyed but I already paid $155 plus $30 entry to the lake. When we got to the bottom, she mentioned when we got back I had to carry it back up. I said I'm not doing that. lol. She held my leash so I could climb on my board. Not an easy task where we were. The paddle boarding was rough but we knew that, the girls at the office warned us. 5 miles later we returned. I STRUGGLED getting off the board and trying to haul it up by myself, my body was shaking and I was visibly exhausted. A young man who worked for this place, WATCHED me struggle. Asked how it was, I said it sucked. He mentioned me carrying the board up that steep hill, while I was shaking from exhaustion and out of breath, and I said "I'm not doing that" and he replied with "why is it heavy?" I did carry my life jacket and paddle...but after that comment I REALLY didn't want to. Layla gave me a water at the top and said to take a breath, I was breathing very heavy. I'd say don't rent paddle boards. You will have to carry them up and down the hill and will get no assistance getting off the board either. But they did carry the kayaks and help those people who also paid like we did, in and out of the kayaks. So maybe rent those and not the paddle boards.

I cannot recommend this enough…read more This was the most breathtaking kayak through the canyons; and the hike was spectacular. A friend and I booked this event for her 40th birthday and it was the absolute highlight of our trip! We were thinking of renting kayaks and doing it ourselves but are both so grateful that we didn't because our tour guide, Ryan, was fantastic-- extremely knowledgeable, helpful, witty, and patient with us, as we were both beginners. He made it really fun! We learned that Britney Spears shot her video "I'm not a girl, not yet a woman" there, too! This was so worth it and will definitely be coming back and booking with Ryan!

Fourth time here. The boats are kinda rough but it's a rental fleet so it is what it is. Generator…read morebroke today at 8am. Notified them immediately via radio because nobody answered four phone calls. Straight to voicemail. It's 103° and we have two infants. Said we were "a priority". It's 4pm and silence. Lake Powell is gorgeous but this is insane. Customer service isn't second, it's non existent. Absolute clown show. The concession hasn't been put to bid since 1969. Kick Aramark out.

Here are some takeaways from our most recent trip on a houseboat in June 2022…read more.. 1) You have to book this boat 1 year in advance. Expect to pay around $8k plus gas, plus insurance. It's roughy $10k for a middle of the road boat for 5 days when it all adds up. 2) We had the 62' Journey. It did not look like any of the pictures online, it was much dated, but it worked, for the most part. Make sure you check everything before you go - the fridge, freezer, are so important, the generator too! 3) We did a "pre-board" and I recommend doing this if you are renting a boat in Powell. What a pre-board means is that at 5pm the night before you can board the boat, vs. waiting until 3:30pm the following day. This way, you wake up the next day, get checked out and you are on your merry way to find a spot to dock your boat. It's a great way to go. It does cost extra, and also know they will not let you on that boat anytime before 5pm, we tried. If you go this route as well, know that the people working on the dock are busy with the people who are boarding for that day, they are driving golf carts with their luggage and food, etc. and will not likely be able to help you until the next day, if not later in that day, so be prepared to carry your stuff to your boat, if you don't want to wait for someone. 4) Get the insurance. Do not sign up to pay for anything that breaks on that boat, it's $70/day for the insurance and trust me when you look at your boat you are going to want that. 5) If you are not savvy with boats, don't attempt to do anything if it's really windy or there are other poor weather conditions. You will have a hard time, and if there are any conditions like this I recommend waiting til it dies down to move your boat, park your boat on shore, etc. We were listening to the radio at the dock and we happened to come back in on a very windy day. It was A MESS. People losing anchors, things breaking, hitting other boats, etc. Just sit still if the weather isn't good and wait for a nice calm day to move your boat. Honestly our kids enjoyed their time being parked at the marina and on the boat, you aren't missing much and you will be safer. 5) Here's some general houseboating tips -- the slide is fun AF :), bring an iphone cord that adapts to the standard outlet so you can play music or bring a portable speaker, bring DVDs, bring a UHF radio so you can connect with the boat, and/or bring walkie talkies, you will want binoculars to see the numbered buoys, plan your food each day so you don't overpack, keep your meals simple. You do have a cooler and you will need quite a bit of ice, put some ice in your freezer so you have backup during your stay on the boat, ask the dock for a tow rope for your speedboat, and ask the person checking you out for recommendations on where to park, do your research first but ask them, they know best! For the price they charge you could go to a tropical island...the beauty of Powell is that 1) it's beautiful and 2) you don't have any service. #2 is a huge draw for me. It's truly a place to disconnect. You are basically camping on the water, just keep that in mind, it's an experience for sure! We saw Antelope marina on our way in/out of our camping spot. I would consider them next time, their boats looked nicer and they have good reviews on Yelp, they are closer to Padre Bay too, just a thought that was going throug my head...no idea how the experience is there but maybe take a look at them as well. Also the Axiom Star is the best boat, if you can get it. It's really lovely inside. The other one that is on the nicer end is the Wanderer. But if you can get the Axiom -- it's very very nice. Much nicer than what we were on! I had tried to book that a year in advance it was already taken.
