Just OK. In general their food is pretty plain. I like the atmosphere but you're not going to get the authentic stuff here. A huge upgrade from taco bell though. Service is fast if you're looking for a quick meal. I like the tacos the best. I've been disappointed multiple times by a few burritos (chicken, shrimp, and steak) that were cold on the inside near the bottom where the meat was very cold. Surf Taco is good. We know that. Sometimes I find the ambiance of the restaurant to be a little annoying. All the "surfer dudes" walking around, taking your orders, whatever. Surf Taco is an incredibly overrated local cali-mex restaurant. I used to love this place. I even have my picture on the wall but honestly, it isn't that good. The burritos don't have as much food in them as they should. It took me 2-3 bites to get something other than just the wrap. The staff is typical first job/high school age definitely not rude but not overly friendly either. Inside has surfing videos with surfer laid back music playing. They have surf boards and the like screwed to the walls like Applebees and Fridays used to have. There is a self serve salsa bar which is quite nice, but it certainly isn't enough to draw me in to the place. I would recommend Bubbakoos or Chipotle over Surf Taco. Also, I posted on there Facebook page saying that I got three bites into my burrito before I got any ingredients besides the wrap and my comment was deleted in under a minute. So at the very least their social media is in order and you can probably trust that the deals they have on their Facebook page are current. I love Surf Taco! It's definitely one of my favorite picks for take-out. Food is delicious and always fresh. The salsa is fabulous. Depending on the time of day and who's cooking in the back, the crispy shell tacos can be overcooked making the chicken dry/burnt. Sometimes, the chips are stale or burnt. A take out order maybe poorly packed with the heaviest item on top, but hey it's teens working there. Despite some not so great meals, the number of consistently fantastic dinners I have had makes me g back again and again. The prices are a little high, but for fresh food, it's competitive for the market. To feed our family of 3, it's usually $21 to $26. read more

More often than not my to go order is messed up. Tonight we at there so I ordered Fried Ice Cream. The menu describes ice cream coating is crunchy. What I got was nothing of the sort. This past week the food critics of toms river north visited the crew over at surf taco of silverton. The critics devoured the waffle fries and were the overwhelmingly favorite thing we had. I ordered the maverick burrito which was decent but does not compare to bubbakoos or chipotles burritos. The rest of the critics claimed that their tacos were the best around and much better than those of Taco Bell or any other joint in town. Finally the buffalo soldier is highly recommended to those who plan on going to surf taco. We would like to thank them for the 10% off our meals, free drinks and sides!! read more

There's many surf tacos out in Jersey now but the one on hooper ace is by far the best one. I always leave happy. It is a little pricey honestly but to have once and a while as a treat it deff does the trick ! I always get the aloha wrap and add avocados and dab some sour cream ... It's bangin!!! I have loved every taco I've had here. The absolute bomb was was the mashed potato taco. I may have only been a seasonal special but I couldn't get enough of them. The only things that bother me is that going out for a couple of tacos and soda, it seems overpriced. Of course, it can't be the price of taco bell and you're getting tasty, fresh ingredients in creative concoctions. The other thing that bothers me is that by the time I get to my 2nd taco, the moisture from the ingredients makes the taco shell fall apart. It's definitely a great place and always friendly service. I was really craving a good ground beef taco so I searched yelp and gave this place a call. I had never been there before and I've always wondered about the place since I pass it all the time in various locations. They said that they had ground beef tacos so I drove over to get one. I got one ground beef soft taco with sour cream. I expected a lot more than what I received. It was pretty large and also filled with all the necessary taco toppings, however, it had no flavor at all. I don't normally judge flavor but this just stood out to me really oddly and I was kind of disappointed. Also, while I was eating it, liquid was pouring out of the other end. Enough liquid so that all of my chips were drenched in it and it filled up like a full inch upwards on the bowl I was eating it out of. The price was adequate I suppose for a non-Taco Bell taco, but I would've been willing to pay a little more if it actually tasted like a taco and not just the tortilla and toppings. Weird experience. Also there were no napkins at the table which was really awkward to me since tacos are so messy. Wouldn't recommend the ground beef taco, but maybe it was just today's blend, who knows. The place is kind of hit or miss depending on the timing of your visit and the order you place (off season or not during a busy weekend night, you will definitely get a higher quality product). I've only ever had the burritos and it's definitely better when you eat them in house as opposed to taking them to go. Chips are also decent and they have a variety mix of dips. read more

Came in for lunch and noticed that a table across the way who came in after us got served first. A few minutes later one of those guests got up and brought the food to the counter. A few minutes after that I heard one of the employees come back and say "the food went to the wrong table." She picked up the other customer's dish and started bringing it directly to us. I said no, we wanted new food, not food that someone else had already had for a while. I decided to cancel the order and went up to the counter to let her know. As I was doing that (literally just a few minutes later) and new food was coming back out. They did give me a refund, but I made a point to say it was kind of gross to take food from a table who had had it to bring it to another table. Hi Guys, I hope this review makes it back to the owners of this Silverton location. The restaurant is really filthy, the floors are filthy, the rugs are filthy, the garbage can is overflowing and covered in all sorts of salas and whatever else gets thrown away. It needs to be scrubbed from top to bottom because when your dining area is that dirty, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Not bad place, I used to love this place but recently it seems the quality have went down. It's still good but not GREAT. One problem I've had was the back door, we passed the back door in the back to park and it was open. There were 3 cooks outside and 1 cook was picking his nose, it kind of made me loose my appetite.
