Joey does a great job teaching and is excellent with kids! He gave lessons to my 5 and 3 year old, and they absolutely adored him and love surfing. He is very good at interacting with children, and understands the things that would flip a kid out (and avoids them). For instance when paddling out, he lifts the nose of the board so the kids face stays dry. He also does an unbelievable job of keeping the kids upright/on the board. Joey is a super nice guy and an excellent surf instructor! My 16 year old niece and her friend were visiting from St Louis and wanted to learn how to surf. We met Joey at the beach - he was right on time and he had wet suits for them and was ready to go!
