Hawthorne Skatepark or Larry Guidi Skatepark is a decent bmx friendly skatepark if you ride bmx and are looking for a place to session up for awhile. They've recently begun enforcing helmets and full pads, so the skatepark is usually pretty empty at all times now. The construction of the skatepark could have been better, they have a decent size street spine but it lands you into a small mellow 4' transition section on the other side. One thing the skatepark doesn't lack is plenty of hips to hit and ledges to grind. The skatepark lacks good flow but if you are used to riding street then you should be ok.

This is the only pump track I know of in the Los Angeles area so if you like to bmx, scooter, rollerblade, or skate definitely check this cool place out. There are two pump tracks. One for beginners, and the other for intermediate/ advanced. There is also a separate skate ramp away from the tracks. Everyone around the park was respectful when I spent the entire day here. The type of people using the track just want to have fun and everyone gets their turn practicing on the track, patiently waiting to go, and friendly to learners. Just exercise normal caution as you can bump into some people on the track if you aren't careful of who's in front and behind you too. Cool vibe for kids and family-friendly. 100% felt safe. The space is also kept clean which I love. I spent most of my time on the beginner pump track. There are little standing platform areas inside the pump track where you can practice a certain section so you don't have to start from the beginning to the end of the loop every time.

It was 9am no one was there but us! So my son who has respect out there and knows the rules can't go but all these dumb parents can' drop off their kids like it's free daycare on their scooters and ride around with total disregard for anyone? Culver City needs to put in charge someone who actually skates and knows the rules of skating. Respect

His 4 year old brother is scared to join for now but enjoys watching his older brother do his demos. He has also been going to the Champ Camp beach camp and has lot of fun at both types of camps.
