I forgot that I stopped here almost 6 years ago. It was during the pandemic when people stayed…read moreinside to be safe. If they went to get food, it would be takeout. And in some cases, folks would eat in their vehicle. That was the case when I went here for the 1st time. Fast forward to now, I happened to run into The SnoBall Shop when I picked up food from a food truck nearby. Let's see how everything went. After leaving a food truck right across the street, I headed here to order a snoball which I haven't had over a year. Just like the 1st time, you head to the front to place your order. Beforehand, I took a look at all the flavors available and chose white chocolate. I also chose marshmallow fluff for the topping. Overall, the snoball was good. The white chocolate flavor was present throughout and having the marshmallow fluff as a topping and in the middle helped with each serving. The snoball did melt due to the weather outside, but it was totally fine. Once again, the SnoBall Shop came through for yours truly. I'll definitely stop by the next time I'm in the area. Till next time :)

3.5 rounded up. Service was great, the gentleman was kind and I inquired about the superhero $1…read morediscount in uniform. There are numerous options available explained on their signage. I opted for the kiddie size snowball which was a good portion. It includes 2 flavors, but I chose add-ons - whip cream and tajin and added vanilla ice cream at additional cost. I'm glad he informed me that due to the kiddie size, adding ice cream would increase the height and most likely have the snoball spill over. He offered to place the ice cream on the side to avoid spillage which I greatly appreciated. They have a large variety of flavors and the reason for the 3.5 stars was due to the taste. I had the passion fruit and tiger's blood. I think the tiger's blood is a sugar free flavor with splenda, so that may have been the reason why I wasn't loving it. I did finish the entire thing though. Haha.. I've just had better tasting at other local businesses. It's located in Primrose shopping center near the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. There's plenty of parking available and they have 3 vibrantly colored tables for seating. I'm sure their presence brings a lively, fun vibe to the shopping center that's in dire need of an update.

I would like to start by saying this business is permanently closed! But I'm here to say it's not, they are open for business! I just pulled up and ordered a regular size birthday cake polar Snoball... I have the pictures to prove it as well, unfortunately Yelp will not let me check in because they believe the business is closed. I will return and continue to support this local business... If you don't believe me and you're in the neighborhood, I suggest you come by and see for yourself.

Once we were greeted (after at least 5 mins of standing in front of the window where we visibly made eye contact with workers) we placed an order for 4 snowballs. Just snowballs, nothing elaborate. We waited by making use of the hula hoops provided by the store (nice touch), interacted with others who were waiting, chatted amongst ourselves and still our snowballs were not ready. We asked what appeared to be the older of the three young ladies working if we can have a refund and were told our orders were being finished. I said but the workers are back there eating a snowball. No acknowledgement was made that the workers were not using their time well to prepare orders. About 5 more mins and the worker we spoke with poked her head inside the shop and said something to the other 2 that resulted in our snowballs being finished and handed off a few mins later. I understand summer employment jobs and having fun while at work in an environment like a snowball stand, however, in total we probably waited around 30+ minutes for 4 snowballs while we watched the workers eating a snowball, chatting with each other, and moving at a snails pace. Snowball is ice and flavor. Training is needed to make sure the workers understand how to maximize their efficiency so they can get customers out of their face and they would actually have more time to do the things that young summer workers like to do when working with their peers.

Stopped in after a quick trip to NC and thought that it would be nice to grab a snowball. Things that I love about Penguin's Snowball is that it is a locally owned establishment to grab a fun summer time treat and it is in a great location. Also, if memory serves me correctly it is owned by a veteran. I come here several times throughout the summer months and I love the different options, my favorite being the Piccadilly. Today I watched as the young lady, who appeared to be working alone, made snowballs with one glove on her right hand and no glove on her left hand. I stood and watched as she made two snowballs and then realized that she needed more snow. She adds more snow to both cups and proceeds to push the snow with both the gloved and ungloved hand. I had to walk away. Thank you but no thank you. Just doesn't seem sanitary to me. Again, I love Penguin's but this was a hard pass for me.
