We stopped by Back Bay Farmhouse Brewery to pick up some Klassic Doughnuts, and it turned out to be a fantastic decision. The line was long, but after the first bite, it was easy to understand why. We tried the Cinnamon Sugar and the Blueberry doughnuts. Both were fresh, light, and delicious, but the blueberry was the clear favorite. It was packed with flavor and easily one of the best doughnuts we've had. The doughnuts were generously sized, making them perfect for sharing. We paired them with our Pinup Coffees and enjoyed them inside the brewery's air-conditioned taproom--a welcome escape from the summer heat. One of the fun things about Klassic Doughnuts is that their wagon is always on the move, popping up at different locations throughout the area. I have been dying to try the famous Klassic Doughnuts, I've finally gotten to the east beach farmers market to try them and it did not disappoint I will say there was a wait, about 30 minutes but the lines felt like they went fast. I was driving past the farmer's market and saw the Klassic Donut truck, so I had to stop by. We busting U-turns!! Lol. The line was definitely lining! Which is nothing new, but it moves pretty quickly. I'm a talker so I'll always find someone to talk to while waiting to make the time go by faster. I got a dozen last time and realized the texture changes after the first day. You can pop them in the microwave, but it'll never be the same as the fresh ones because they thicken up. So I highly recommend eating some before you even get out of the parking lot to get the best melt in your mouth experience!! The glazed is one of my favorite. It's a little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It sincerely melts in your mouth. They're also pretty big, and while waiting you can see them making the donuts, with the glaze dripping off. It's exciting to get to the front after waiting in line. The line wasn't long at all, but once I was taken care of, there was about 10 people behind me! They are a popular food truck for sure! When I got to the counter, I saw they had a lemon glazed, as well as an original glazed and cinnamon sugar. I went with the lemon to try something new! You can order the donuts by singles, a half dozen or a dozen. Good to know if I ever want to bring some to friends! The donut was perfectly glazed and full of lemon flavor. Thursday 8/15/2024 I came across this spot in the comment section of a tiktok and I'm so glad I did cause it was a BANGER. This is a donut truck that makes stops in the Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach area (you can find details on their social medias). Luckily, I was able to catch them with their stop at the Virginia Beach farmers market. I got their around 9:30 am and ended up waiting in line for about 40 min due to how long the line was. I got a half dozen donuts for $13.75 and got 2 of each flavor: lemon glaze, glaze, and cinnamon sugar. I've never had donuts that were this fresh, warm, and delicious. These might be the best donuts I've had and if not then they are at the very least top 3. The lemon glaze donut was wonderful and was easily my favorite of the 3. The glazed and cinnamon sugar were both good donuts and are in the same range when it comes to my personal rating of them. All in all, klassic doughnuts was a special and highly memorable experience. For a while I would disregard trying these doughnuts because I did not want to wait in the line at the Farmer's Market until one day I just decided why not? I can honestly say these doughnuts are delicious and everyone I've had try them loves them. They are big, aren't too sweet and I love how the glaze hardens on them. My favorites are Coffee Glazed and Peach Cardamom. The classic flavor is also a great standard option. They are made fresh and hand dipped right on the truck which you can attain visual of when you wait in line . I am not a fan of their cinnamon sugar doughnut I like that one the least. I also have tried the lemon which I feel is a bit too tangy. If you're reading this and wondering whether it's worth waiting in line to grab a dozen on your first try -- the answer is a resounding YES! Their lines are long FOR A REASON. There were about 15 people ahead of us, but we only waited about 10-15 minutes in line TOTAL (very fast service & nice people, too). We only ordered one (yes, ONE) original glazed donut just to try. It literally took them just seconds to get it to us. It was warm and smelled sweet and savory at the same time. As soon as we got in the car, we started up the car and I took the first bite. I instantly looked at my husband with regret written all over my face. THAT FIRST BITE WAS THE TRUTH. The donut was warm, had a nice thin crisp/bite to it and just the most moist, melt in your mouth, flavorful donut I have ever had in my life. He took a bite and about forgot his whole name. I found them parked at Taylor's Do it Center in Virginia Beach off Independence. This spot is a regular rotation for them. They offer an extra large cake doughnut that's hand dipped in a small variety of toppings and hung to dry on rods as my photo reflects. The special of the day was Blueberry. Prices are around $2 a piece with a discount for cash they waive tax. The young female who took my order was as friendly as could be. I order a half dozen. 2 of their special blueberry, 2 cinnamon sugar and 2 classic. They come in a nifty box that allows them to sit up. I also chatted up the owner and told him I finally caught up with them. He said they are very active at 757 breweries. Follow them on social media for their dates and location. So it was pretty hilarious to see pretty much everyone not wait a minute and pop the box open and eat them in the car. One guy beside me made eye contact and nodded with thumbs up. I showed more restraint and brought them home. I tried them all and the Blueberry was my overall favorite as it bursted with flavor. The cake was still warm and the moist texture was scrumptious! Second was the Classic which has a traditional glaze. Not far behind was the Cinnamon Sugar which tasted like an elephant ear. All three had distinctive flavors with the consistent moist doughnut. Both of my children all thumbs up with son liking the cinnamon sugar the best, my daughter classic. If you have the opportunity or want to make your own opportunity by following them do it! On this particular Thursday, they were easily found at the Virginia Beach Farmer's Market. We got half a dozen: 3 cinnamon sugar and 3 strawberry glazed - AND they were made fresh. Let me tell you, a hot strawberry glazed will change you. I am not a fan of strawberry, and very rarely enjoy strawberry flavored items, but this donut was insanely pleasant, and left my taste buds screaming for more. We did eat another strawberry the next morning and while still good, they seem to be best eaten same day. The cinnamon sugar was also very nice, but if I had to choose, the strawberry was far more superior. We debated getting a full dozen, but I'm glad we opted for the half.
