    Crab cake sandwich

Amazing service, kind people, and exceptional food! We didn't make a reservation and the owner was able to find a table for us. The servers are so so sweet and helpful and the food was YUM. We got the BBQ pork belly tacos and crab cake sandwich, and oh my goodness. Delicious. Highly recommend. Beautiful and shaded rooftop, and the prices are amazing. Served quickly. Loved this place.

    The entertainment was great!

My family and I went to the Surfside Rooftop Grill and it was dynamite! The service was super fast, and the food was delicious! They had a live singer, NolanCod Sandwich Quinn, who was amazing! Our waitress, Megan, who was super nice and attentive all of our special requests was great! I loved our experience at the Surfside Rooftop Grill and we are definitely coming back!

Nice oysters, it's also a BYOB.

My wife and I really enjoy the laid back atmosphere. Service is top notch. Food is always consistently good. Nice variety of oysters. Looking forward to being regulars again throughout the summer months

Fun atmosphere with good food and service. Grace and Sky did a great job serving us, and the Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese was delicious!

Ambiance and service was great. The food was mediocre at best. Even the Mac and Cheese was a fail, not sure how you mess that up!

Overpriced and food quality was okay. Lobster rooo is very overpriced and all claw meat. Fries were excellent and sandwiches were okay

Tables had bottled plastic Dasani bottles, very odd and screams cheapy picnic vibes. The app w portabello mushroom def did not taste fresh - veggies were wilted and tasted almost spoiled. Entrees were average to below average. The seabass w jumbo lump crabmeat is definitely misleading. There was a piece of crabmeat that was thumbnail sized. I wasn't sure what it was. Looked like something that fell in there by accident. Just don't offer the crabmeat, if you're putting in a .005oz. Looks questionable. The biggest issue is the broken AC. This should be communicated to customers. Not a pleasant experience if you're sweating while eating your dinner. Overall I'd say save your money, go someplace w at least a working AC

Update to Previous 1 Star Review:…read more So it looks like Rick's is remaining in the 1 Star Category. This year I tried putting in my order a day before since last year I gave them 2 weeks notice and they were unable to fulfill since they hadn't pulled my order aside until the moment I walked in their doors for pickup. This morning at 9A I walked through their doors to put in an order for tomorrow pickup and was met with rash and abrasive responses through and through. Q: Could I have the order be picked up at 5P? A: I doubt that Q: Could I order Large Crabs? A: No large, you get what's in the window. Q: Could I order 8 Medium? A: I can give you a dozen. My Response: No, I'm only one person. Nobody else eats them. A: Fine, 8 Q: Can I have them steamed w. Old Bay? A: No, my crabs are already accounted for. You'd be taking them cold from the window tomorrow. Whatever is out today. My Response: Ok, never mind then. I'll just leave it at that. No order thanks. (Proceeds to walk out of Rick's). So my question... When is the sweet spot? I gave you guys two weeks notice last year and my order wasn't able to be fulfilled and was only put together with whatever was in the "window" at the time of pickup. I gave you a day before this year and it still isn't able to be fulfilled properly. If this is how you treat your patrons, I truly regret ever giving you my business for the past 15+ years. I attempted to give you guys one last try, this was the final straw.

The menu reads like a love letter to the region -- Stone Circle Farm spinach, Sickler Farm eggs, Jersey asparagus, local tuna. This isn't farm-to-table as aesthetic. It's farm-to-table as commitment, and you can taste the difference. We started with the picada. The deviled smoked trout egg with trout caviar and micro chive was quietly spectacular -- the kind of dish that makes you stop mid-conversation. The grilled Ludlam oyster with koji BBQ butter and braised collard greens was deeply satisfying, Southern and coastal at once. For mains, the wood-fired grill is the move. The hanger steak (Entraña Gruesa) from Creekstone Farm was everything a steak should be -- robust, tender, properly marbled. Paired with the tallow herbed fries, I had zero regrets. I also got to enjoy king salmon aged 6 days, full of flavor and excellent to share with a table mate. The strawberries with lemon soft cream for dessert were the right ending. Simple. Perfect. In a shore town full of places coasting on location, La Porteña is actually trying. And succeeding. I've been 3 times so far and can't wait to go back.

However it was a really long dinner (over 2 1/2 hours with some noticeably long waits between courses at times). Flatiron steak was a bit tough but accurately cooked to medium rare and had tremendous flavor. The Argentina salad (so fresh!) and French fries were delicious. The special Tile fish was pretty good. Only disappointment was the gnocchi. It had nice lobster chunks but the gnocchi tasted oily.

I am a bit of a vegetable snob but all the veggies measured up. I got the chicken thigh and my husband the monk fish and both were lovely plates. The potato with the chicken was superlative. For our entrées, my wife enjoyed the pasta with clams, although only six clams. I had the spare ribs which were very nice, but the accompanying corn and sauce was cold and it was a bit weird for me to have a cold sauce with hot spareribs. Our server volunteered to us that it was Jersey corn but I highly doubt that given Jersey Corn doesn't come into play until August typically. Dessert was excellent. We both had the lemon pudding creation.
