Two for dinner please. Enjoy the open air atmosphere and overall seafood vibe. Our server, Adrienne, did a very nice job. She forgot to tell us about the specials, but other than that, she was great. We started with cocktails and some little neck steamers, which were amazing and the vegetable egg rolls which were delicious. Highly recommend both of those appetizers. For entrées, we had the cappellini and crab pasta. I can't emphasize how good this was. Also a huge portion so my wife had it for lunch again the next day. We went to The Watering Hull , and while the food was good-average, the service was painfully slow. Our waiter came to our table twice once to take our drink order and once to take our food order and that was the last time we saw him until he finally brought us the check after being summoned. We sat with appetizer plates on our table for our entire meal, had no drink refills, and while we were sitting there waiting, we saw him in the back eating a taco. He was a young man with curly brown hair and blue eyes who seemed to care less about the people he was serving than his taco. Mahi Mahi tacos are very good! Lots of meat and the mango slaw goes well with it. It came with a very small side of guac and chips. The guac portion could have been bigger. It also came with plantains and a very small piece of corn on the cob. I prefer the rice and beans it used to come with. Buffalo wings were also good. So many restaurants between Sommers point and Cape May, finally got to this gem in Stone Harbor. It is absolutely adorable. I love the nautical theme and the in door outdoor areas overlooking the Harbor square lit with string lights is so charming and romantic. We thought the whole menu looked delicious but I was in the mood for a burger. It wasn't the best I've ever eaten but it was very good. Very fresh coleslaw. Dave got a jerk chicken sandwich that was very spicy with too much sauce but otherwise good he said. Our suggestion would be to ask for lite sauce on that one, it was not a dry rub. Fries were good. The service was very good... our server was super attentive and the food came out piping hot, just how I like it!! The crab ran good was delicious, it was real crab, not imitation. The crab and tomato stack was so fresh and delicious, and big enough that you could eat it as a meal if you are not starving. The oysters were very good, although small and they could have done a better job shucking them. And the shrimp was delicious! I enjoyed this lunch spot. We sat at the upstairs deck area, which has a covered shade and overlooks an outdoor area. It has the quintessential beach town vibe. I ordered the shrimp tacos, made with deliciously seasoned shrimp, pico de gallo and a creamy sauce. It was very good! It comes with a side of tortilla chips, guacamole and rice and beans. They're very with-the-times in offering gluten-free options and substitutes for many of their dishes, and a wide array of options for all types of eaters. I got the sushi bowl over a bed of zucchini noodles- beautiful presentation, the garlic aioli sauce coating my (hefty portion of) raw salmon was drool-worthy, and all the veggies were crisp and fresh. The Watering Hull has become my husband's and my go-to date night spot in Stone Harbor, thanks to their delicious and hearty vegan options and the fun ambiance. This is a belated review of our last date night of summer 2024. I started with a classic margarita, which was fabulous. A little strange--I asked for a salt rim; it came out without one. I let it go. Then our server asked if I still wanted a salt rim, and I was like...isn't that something you do before filling the glass? She offered to take it back to the bar to be remade, but I declined. I had the veggie tacos as my entree, and they were so fresh and flavorful. The tacos came with chips, guac, and rice and beans. Unfortunately, none of those were that great. Chips needed salt, guac and rice/beans didn't have much flavor, even after I squeezed the lime wedges intended for my tacos onto them. A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt would have gone a long way. My husband ordered the chicken salad wrap that was on special. He enjoyed it, especially the sauce and ratio of ingredients. He loved the house-made chips, but felt like it ended up being too much food. (We took them to go and I'm pretty sure we left them on the bar at Springers, but that's beside the point). We look forward to future date nights at the Watering Hull. read more

I have tried to love this place but have been disappointed every visit. The food is sub-par and the prices are outrageous. For $30-50 meals, we should be leaving happy. Tacos have been overcooked several different visits. The poke bowls have zero flavor and for almost $30, come with barely any ingredients. When we mentioned this to the server, she agreed with us that they lack flavor and aren't worth the money. She said she has to douse them in teriyaki to make it taste good. Nothing was done about our meals besides her saying she was sorry. Don't bother wasting your money here. We all agreed we should have just went to get pizza instead. What a waste of money. read more

The menu reeled me in. It offered something for all of us. From the sea, land and vegan. Beautiful dining room and bar areas with light coming through all the windows. Has a very spacious feel to it. Great downtown location on the Main Street on the second floor so you have to use stairs to get to it. However, the poke bowls left a lot to be desired. For $25-30... it should be packed with ingredients and flavor. Any poke bowl I've ever had has been good (for over half the price of this place). My friends and I went to the watering hull on a Tuesday and we had the best experience! The drinks were great! I tried the seaside which was great. The pina coladas were a crowd favorite (we added rum floaters which really elevated the meal). Rylee was our server and she was great!! Super friendly and accommodating with our large party size. The clams were out of this world. One of my dear friends isn't usually a seafood gal and she LOVED them. The Mahi mahi tacos were delectable. The mango salsa hit the spot. It was quite busy but the food came out lickedy split. My other friend really enjoyed the Caesar salad. He added the blackened chicken for some extra protein. I came here around 2:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon, with my fiancé. The food was really great and not too overpriced for being so close to the beach. The chicken tenders were great and my fiancé loved his burger. We ended up sharing his fries...though I'm not so sure he loved that because the fries were amazing. My fiancé loved the beer options. The only reason it has 4 stars was because the place was empty and the waitress was hard to hunt down. My fiancé had to go to the bar to get a beer. This is a hard review to write. The place was lively, we didn't have to wait for a table since there was a high top by the bar. The bartender was as nice as can be but slammed. He was running back and forth taking orders and working the bar. We ordered the tacos and burger with some drinks. The presentation was great, the taste was amazing until we both had hair in our food. I literally started choking as I pulled it out from my mouth. My friend had hair mashed into her guacamole. Our server Savannah was quietly attentive and no one had to wait for drinks which by the way were also outstanding- a lot of golden margaritas were consumed. 7/7/20 Last night we were going to eat at Fred's Tavern but - they took all the tables off the sidewalk anticipating severe weather-they were right. They have a very small patio area w an overhang and we were turned away as they switched over to take out only- I understand it but it hurts the business so much. We went where the storm winds blew us- which was over to the conveniently located Watering Hull. Very beautiful interior. I ordered 2 appetizers that I shared. Conch fritters and Crab Rangoon. Delicious!! Before we got our meal the powerful winds started blowing through the balcony tables and they have a little garage door type thing they lowered to protect the inside part. I was somewhat disappointed in the service- the girl was very pleasant but not really attentive and check backed once, never offered drink refills either. She seemed more interested in talking to her friends at the other booth. I think that's ridiculous when you have a nearly empty restaurant to not be attentive. Plus I always eat at off times. The food was good but very expensive. A burger and fries 18$. It was 1/2 pound burger so you were getting a decent meal. As you should at those prices. I don't think I would go rushing back but I was grateful to have a place that we could walk to. Also to try something different too. I would rank 3/5 stars. All things considered. read more

Easy lunch spot while shopping or taking a beach break. We went for apps to share including conch fritters and the crab wontons. I also had a side of grilled corn that was perfectly cooked. We were disappointed that they were out of sweet plantains, but were surprised they were on the menu in the first place. Also, some of the catchier entrees were only available for dinner so it's worth checking out the menu ahead of time. For me, the coconut mojito outshined my food although everything was tasty. The music and overall vibes were a plus! Also, it's open air dining with partial outdoor seats (covered balcony) available.
