AMAZING service (s/o Jules!) Everyone in our group of 13 enjoyed their meals. The friend who has been there the most often raves about the eggplant parm but I would want to get my lobster ravioli again. The mozz stick special was also a highlight.

Borghi's has been consistently good in our visits: delicious food at reasonable shore prices and excellent service. This visit was no exception. Lana was a wonderful waitress. She was friendly, attentive, helpful, and let us set the pace. Love the BYOB The warm bread they provide with garlic pesto is a delicious start. We enjoyed the special calamari for an appetizer. The calamari was lightly fried and tender; served on marinara. Salads followed with delicious homemade creamy vinaigrette and Caesar dressings. For our entrees we had the evening special rigatoni with vodka sauce and lump crabmeat and the lobster ravioli. Both were excellent and we took half home. Found room for the pound cake with vanilla ice cream - again delicious. We recommend everything we had.

Excellent service and very good food. Restaurant was small but comfortable. Desserts were fantastic!

Special with lobster, shrimp, scallops and angel hair pasta

Just went here for dinner for my dad's birthday and can't rave about this place enough. They were very accommodating to our large party, served everything promptly and the food was outstanding! Everything from the salads to dinner to dessert was perfection. A nice cozy local spot a short walk away from the main street but definitely worth the excursion (and it was nice and peaceful since it wasn't surrounded by other shops and restaurants). We will definitely come back the next time we're in town!

She forgot to tell us about the specials, but other than that, she was great. We started with cocktails and some little neck steamers, which were amazing and the vegetable egg rolls which were delicious. Highly recommend both of those appetizers. For entrées, we had the cappellini and crab pasta. I can't emphasize how good this was. Also a huge portion so my wife had it for lunch again the next day. I had the bacon wrapped scallops, which were very good. It's a smaller portion (3), so maybe normally an appetizer, but it was plenty for dinner for me.

They were slammed and told my niece that it would be 2 hour wait Well she that ked them and said we couldn't wait because we were headed back off island Before she could get back to my car ... I believe the manager owner or chef came out of the back of the busy kitchen toy car parked across the street and said Can you wait 20 minutes and I responded absolutely!!! I don't believe he knows how often we stop in but I believe he remembers me because I order a lot of uncooked crab cakes throughout the year and am a local... regardless, that level of customer service deserves an extra nod I truly appreciated that he took the time to make our weekend complete with a delicious Ricks dinner Big fan of their prepared dinners, fresh seafood and their soups and chowders I am blessed to live in a community where every attempt is made to make a customer happy This time they went above and beyond So thank you to the hard working staff at ricks Forever a fan Forever a customer

The menu reads like a love letter to the region -- Stone Circle Farm spinach, Sickler Farm eggs, Jersey asparagus, local tuna. This isn't farm-to-table as aesthetic. It's farm-to-table as commitment, and you can taste the difference. We started with the picada. The deviled smoked trout egg with trout caviar and micro chive was quietly spectacular -- the kind of dish that makes you stop mid-conversation. The grilled Ludlam oyster with koji BBQ butter and braised collard greens was deeply satisfying, Southern and coastal at once. For mains, the wood-fired grill is the move. The hanger steak (Entraña Gruesa) from Creekstone Farm was everything a steak should be -- robust, tender, properly marbled. Paired with the tallow herbed fries, I had zero regrets. I also got to enjoy king salmon aged 6 days, full of flavor and excellent to share with a table mate. The strawberries with lemon soft cream for dessert were the right ending. Simple. Perfect. In a shore town full of places coasting on location, La Porteña is actually trying. And succeeding. I've been 3 times so far and can't wait to go back.

It's a well oiled machine to push out really poor quality food as fast as humanely possible. But here's the kick (in the behind) its is supposed to be a SEAFOOD restaurant. I will explain... I had fish tacos. Even at the worst restaurant you will get a tilapia or cod grilled or broiled. Here, ready for this.. I got 3 FROZEN fish sticks (confirmed by the waiter) for $30. Seriously? My son in law got food poisoning from the Seafood Ravioli the next day. The carb cakes were deep fried. I know that's not a crime but for God's sake fresh crabs are a block away. But you can't pan sear them? You know why, because it comes out in 15 mins. Every entree came out all together in 15 mins. ( i timed it). How is that possible? Do you see where I'm going. The food is incredibly bad. I mean bad. I just don't understand it. We left and there were 10 people waiting outside. Is this the best Avalon has to offer. I hope not. Just stay far away and get a pizza. Better yet order out from the crabcake store down near 27th-28th St. At least it served fresh crab. By the way, this has latin food influences..what a joke. Latinas, por favor mantente alejada. DO NOT RECOMMEND BY A LONG SHOT. But i doubt anyone will listen.

Elevated | Intentional | Salmon…read more Elevated - This is one of the more elevated dining experiences on the island. From the moment you walk in, you can tell the restaurant is designed for people looking for something a little more special than a casual meal. It strikes a nice balance between upscale and comfortable, making it equally suited for a romantic date night, celebrating a special occasion, or enjoying a more refined dinner with friends or family. The atmosphere feels polished without being overly formal. Intentional - Everything about the restaurant feels thoughtfully designed. The menu is curated rather than overwhelming, with dishes that seem carefully crafted instead of trying to be everything to everyone. The dining room layout also deserves credit. The tables are spaced in a way that gives you privacy while still maximizing the room. Servers move through the restaurant with ease, and you never feel like you're bumping into other guests or having conversations on top of one another. It's clear that attention was paid to both the guest experience and the overall flow of the restaurant. Salmon - I ordered the salmon, and it was one of the highlights of the evening. The fish was cooked perfectly--tender, flaky, and moist--with an Asian-inspired seasoning that added plenty of flavor without overpowering the salmon itself. The accompanying sides complemented the dish well and created a balanced meal. What surprised me most was the portion size. At a restaurant with this level of presentation, I expected a smaller serving, but the portion was generous and left me completely satisfied. I would absolutely order it again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting. Pro tip: Make a reservation, especially during peak dinner hours or weekends. It has the feel of a place people choose for special occasions, so tables can fill up quickly. Pro tip: Come dressed for the atmosphere. While there isn't a strict dress code, business casual or date-night attire fits the vibe and helps make the experience feel complete
