All the nurses I interacted…read morewith were so nurturing, supportive and let me choose my care and really reassured me I'd be ok the whole time. Specifically shouting out a few nurses that really made a difference for me were Jillian, Bre, Lakita, Katie and Caitlyn (if the names were wrong or spelled wrong I'm sorry, I was a little loopy a lot of the time). Honestly my whole care team was amazing. I'm coming back to this labor and delivery for my next baby because I know I'm going to get the best care.

Severe communication breakdown and lack of empathy for a critical care family…read more Our family's experience with Providence St. Peter Hospital has been deeply distressing during an already terrifying time. My 83-year-old grandmother was recently T-boned in a severe car accident, suffering eight broken bones, and was only just moved out of critical care. She managed to call me from her room, but the phone was disconnected. When I immediately called back to reconnect with her, I faced an absolute wall of bureaucratic incompetence and zero empathy. First, the staff claimed they had no idea who I was talking about. Once they finally recognized her name, they flatly refused to transfer me to her room or provide any explanation as to why. To prevent a family member from speaking to an elderly, severely injured patient who just initiated contact is completely unacceptable. The extreme lack of coordination between units and the rigid, unhelpful attitude of the staff turned a medical crisis into an agonizing, aggravating ordeal. St. Peter's leadership seriously needs to address how their staff handles communication with worried families. Frontline staff need training on basic empathy and how to properly locate transferred patients instead of just shutting families out.

I tend to be uptight AND have a labor job, so my muscles are in beat-up knots all the time. The atmosphere is comforting right off the bat, before you even start: professional, nice, clean, safe, no off-putting smells to irritate anything. The massage table is perfect in size and structure, something that could ruin the whole experience if it was wrong. Nope- that thing was chosen perfectly. Heating to just the right temp, soft and roomy, ergonomic. Then Dana starts and she's educated on what she does. She, like the atmosphere she chose and made- is professional, safe, kind, clean, and she's good at what she does. She knows how things connect and how to release the built-up cortisol. She finds and works out knots I didn't know I had. She communicates and lets you know you matter and works on what you need. It's not fluff, despite feeling better when I leave; I can actually move more, the stiffness has been alleviated and I have a better range of movement to go back to work and function better. It's health in the hands of a professional.

So long story short, went in 2 years ago saw knee surgeon on Westside, diagnosis, oh women your age…read moreget this kind of injury fatty hofa? Rest it will get better, well it got worse went back, need mri, my insurance said no and never heard back from doctors office. So one of the other surgeons that is a god there, called my insurance and said she needs mri asap. Got approved and I asked for different doctor since the office never called me back to say what the next steps were to get approval for mri.Got mri saw new surgeon at Eastside office, said tear in meniscus. Easy peasy. June 2024 had surgery, in recovery surgeon comes out, while I'm still doped up explains what had gone on and what he found, I have no clue what he had said, don't even remember leaving building. Well the knee still hurt bad went for several follow ups was told it takes a while. Got another mri. Another small tear and lots of arthritis, no one told me if u get surgery arthritis starts building up. I am in more pain then before surgery, gained 20 pounds, unable to do daily functions and activities. If I would have known this I would not have got surgery. Asked to speak to doctor about what can be done several times, they said oh he's booked up,see his PA. Well guess what his PA was to busy so they hired another PA to help out, this is in November, he tells me I need to think about going to a gym and see a psychologist, lol. I normally got 16000 steps in according to my fitbit, im very active and not overweight, really? January 2025 still not a word from surgeon, since June. Went to another orthopedic establishment and guess what I now need a partial knee replacement!!! I'm literally in tears! I can't believe thos surgeon doesn't have the common courtesy to explain what he did and why my surgery was not easy peasy!!! Fyi get a second opinion before having surgery and trusting the surgeon! At 50 years old I shouldn't be walking like I'm 80!!!

Then, after the basic follow-ups, say two years later, he will abandon you, giving you tales of his suffering in pain, of his wearing compression hose, of taking diclophenac tablets, then going on a rant about age and God, while totally disregarding your issues. Avoid him, as there are other orthopedic surgeons who are far more honest, compassionate, and competent.
