My son has been playing with shooting Stars Sports for almost 4 years and every coach is kind, courteous, patient and caring for each child. As great as those qualities are, they teach kids in a way that encourages teamwork, respect and love for sports. Coach Mike, coach Chuck, Coach Sean, Coach Margaret and Coach Brenda have all been great but Coach Maddy has always been my son's favorite. She truly teaches kids the skills they should know and makes the love playing at the same time. Truly wonderful. Ask about their parties also, had my sons 7th birthday a week ago and he already asked to have the same party again, he had an absolute blast and is still talking about it.

My children have been playing for LIJSL for about 8-10yrs now (between the 2 of them) I have never…read morereally had an incident that needed prompt attention, but on May 12th (mother's day) my son was called a racial slur multiple times during a game. I called the Lijsl's President Mr. A. Maresco and he actually picked up his phone around 7pm Mother's day Sunday! I was caught off guard; talk about responsive (I was expecting to leave a message). I explained what happened and he was genuinely upset and took immediate action the next day. He advised that I contact my president of my town soccer club. The next day I did, but by that time my club president as well as the offending team's president was already notified by Mr. Maresco. I'm happy that he took this incident as serious and degrading as I did and made notifications immediately. At this time there has been no notification or resolve of the issue, but I'm very pleased that LIJSL intervened so promptly and I now know that LIJSL are who they say they are. My coworkers and I come here every Tuesday for their hosted volleyball events. I was skeptical at…read morefirst as I've never took part in league sports in my area but was pleasantly pleased by the staff and the patrons. They have two Volleyball courts set up with 4 teams playing against each other on a rotating set. Teams are usually randomly chosen to maintain a uniform skill level across the four teams. You can easily sign up on meetup.com but be sure to sign up in advanced as spots to fill up quick. Also you can purchase a game card which provides you 100$ credit for only $80. Each session is around an hour and a half and you are non stop playing except for the small five minute break between rotations. Everyone that goes is very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to teach you if you need help. Be sure to bring knee pads if you plan on diving. Overall their volleyball nights are something I look forward to now during the week.

This place is like high schoolers and is run that way. I've been to many volleyball places and I thought the ones I went to were bad. Not even close, other places at least react to talent but not here. You're either in the "in-group" or not. And it's overpriced in comparison to some places I've been. I can honestly go on about the establishment but it isn't a concern of mine. How the immaturity that is allowed, is the true issue here.
