(skip to the last two concluding paragraphs if you're just here for the facts)…read more Be warned, I may sound a little biased but it's because this counselor has been the "Anne Sullivan" to my "Helen Keller". A "Miracle Worker", you ask quizzically. Did he just use the word quizzically, you may also ask. Let me try again... I have PTSD. It came from an incident at work and, despite that, I still work there. Events that trigger my symptoms are not uncommon. The medications that were supposed to help me back then compounded the damage that occurred during my traumatic event. During my recovery, I thought I was able to build up my mental fortitude by doing 'immersion' style exposures at home and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with another counselor but there were still muck in my mental waters. The garden of my mind had its soil overturned but the old weeds cluttered the forgotten corners had pollinated formerly healthy area. Using my works Employee Assistance Program again, I asked for help. They gave me Pamela Griggs (Counselor, LPC). And, after my first appointment, Pamela offered me a pamphlet on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I read the info she offered me, did my own research, and decided to go for it. In overly simplified terms, EMDR therapy is like mentally-focused, consciously aware 'talk' therapy. Walls, like ego, skepticism, and self-loathing that patients tend to use on their counselors can prevent perceptible improvement for months or years. EMDR is like straight up no nonsense gardening of your mind: finding the mental weeds, digging at them, throwing them out, and doing maintenance. Thanks to Pamela, I was not overwhelmed by what I have been through. If not for her, I may have ended up divorced or incarcerated due to the inevitable downward spiral that I was on. She introduced me to EMDR and utilized it to address various issues that were presented and that resurfaced due to my PTSD. I know that she put ME first when it came to the insurance red tape. Though some weeks I desired a short-notice appointment and she was not available, I knew that she be there for me 100% whenever we did a session. Pamela's current location is not the best but that means nothing compared to what she's done to help me and the rest of her patients. If you are tired of talk therapy or have given up on counseling or therapy, make an appointment to do EMDR with Pamela. If she's not local to you, find an EMDR practitioner near you and get help. You're worth it.

Staff will not follow through on promises. Staff will not provide an email address for provider or reception. (Can you even call it reception since they're not receptive?) Staff do not know how to move fast even for time sensitive situations. Staff do not care...in a field where they are paid to care..for people who need help caring for themselves. Zero effort. Zero cares given. Dumbfounded. SWBH will not craft an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) medical document even for patients who have a thoroughly documented disability and have also been in their own system for 5 years. I EXPERIENCE MORE "LOVE" OUT OF MECHANICS AT AUTO SHOPS.

When returning to southwest they dropped my dose 75% and put me into horrible withdrawal. My depression had been getting better until this point, at which then it got worse than ever along with the physical side effects. I was forced to use after losing over 20 lbs (I only weighed 110 to start) not getting sleep in days, and wishing I had never come to this place. They did nothing that has helped me, only stepped my recovery back years. Individually the staff can be great, but there is no communication and you end up paying a hefty price. I would never recommend this place, it unfortunately it's the only place in over an hour that doses methadone. Try suboxon, you will be happy that you did.

I'm not sure about going in as a client either everyone's business is just spread around... wouldn't recommend to work here but that's just my opinion you're not even allowed to miss work when you're sick or you kids are sick... they don't even ask how you're feeling they just expect you to show up even if you apologize for missing work they'll talk among themselves and feel like you're not even trying... even tho I was there for a short amount of time I felt like I advanced on my own with no help even tho I was lost I found a way but they don't see that they just see all the negative stuff
