Due to weight change, I had a suit that was now too large. A good issue to have but I didn't want to get a new suit, so I came here. Small place, looks like just one employee/owner. I've never used a tailor before, but my experience with Amy at Susan Tailoring has been nothing but spectacular! I used her services to tailor my wedding tux, the most important tux I'll ever own, and she made it fit perfect. However, by no fault of her own, the coat was a little short so the chest pooched out a little when the button was done. She quickly found the remedy to the problem and moved the button right before my eyes, free of charge. Now it sits super well. She has some skills! And is very nice. Prices are very reasonable. The first time I had patches removed from one work jacket to another. The 2nd time I I had a zipper replaced (on a work jacket). Her turn around time was 2 days, which was perfect for me. I called to get an estimate on dress I needed cut and hemmed from the bottom.  She began asking me questions and she asked me to come in so she could give me a better estimate.  I agreed and went down to the shop as it was just down the street from my house.  When I got there, she began inspecting my dress and told me it would be $55. She went on to tell me why it was that much and her prices where good which I never questioned her whatsoever.  Then she began asking when I needed it by and telling me she can have it done in a few days.  I told her I had to think about it and she went on to ask me if I was going to call other places. I said yes. She basically threw the dress at me and walked away. First of all, I called and asked for an estimate, that is why I called first. Second as a business owner when someone calls or comes asking for pricing there is always a chance that the person will not become your client, you shouldn't be rude or disrespectful. I have to say this place is quick and the lady who helped me was so friendly. Pant's hem is only $3.99! I had gotten it done else where before and paid $7 per pair. I also took in a scrub top that was just too big to wear. The lady sized it down perfect and even went to the trouble of undoing the pockets and restitching them so that she wouldn't have had to cut into it. This lady is a joke. She had me drive out to see her to tell me she couldn't do the job after i explained to her what i needed done. It was a simple job. I offered her an alternative way to take in a dress for her to tell me " no sorry I'm busy" why the hell would you have me drive to see you plus go to the bank to pull out cash? This place has poor customer service. There was a bit of a language barrier. The tailor kept saying I understand but did not understand what I was trying to have done. It was impossible to come to an agreement and then she did not honor her promoted deal. This is more of a niche tailor not really capable of meeting all needs. We have made several trips to Susan's and she always does great work. On a few occasions pricing was different and I didn't understand why some of the pants I brought in were more to hem than others but at the end of the day good work is good work. Before going to this tailor I read most of the 5 and 4 star reviews; in which all of the Yelpers claim that this tailor is AMAZING. But when I picked up my dress pants and jeans I realized that SHE IS NOT AMAZING. When I first arrived the building had an unbearable smell (like sewer water), the owner was rude from the beginning because she argued with me that my requests were "difficult". I asked for very simple alterations which were to shorten the pant lengths 1 inch and to shorten the width of the pant legs. I even left her a sample piece to measure and tailor the exact adjustments on the other items. How silly of me to think that she would use the sample... When I arrived home and tried on the pants she DID NOT shorten the width of the pant legs. I know this because I compared the sample piece with the work pieces and there was no adjustments made. She basically stole my money and did not work on my clothes. Buyer beware! read more

If you drive down Commonwealth a little too fast you just might miss it! The shop itself is modest but the work is excellent and that is what matters. The seamstress who assisted me was very helpful and had my alterations done quickly. They do take debit they charge a fee. I know a lot of "ma and pa" places do this, so it's no biggie. read more
