Shayma was nothing short of a fairy godmother. I purchased my dream wedding dress, a stunning Waters Santina gown (older collection (circa 2014-2015)), online preowened with tags, unworn and unaltered. As you can see from the before pictures, it's so large it looks like a tent. Shayma and her team went to work and three fittings later emerged the romantic fitted lace bodice with dreamlike tulle skirt exactly how the dress was meant to fit. Roughly two weeks before my wedding I called Shayma in a panic as I had accidentally lost more weight after my last fitting and the dress didn't fit right. Shayma assured me we still had time and she was able to schedule me an appointment right away. She knew exactly what needed to be adjusted in order to fix the dress. Dantella was one of the many preferred vendors from the list of where I bought my wedding dress at Luv Bridal. After doing extensive research on the many high rated reviews they received and a word of mouth from my husband's cousin who enjoyed her experience here, I decided to make the 45 min drive to get my wedding dress altered here. When I first met Shayma, I could tell that she was very passionate about her work and what she does for her bridal clients. There was so many cards plastered on her wall that you can tell this place received genuine heartfelt responses from previous happy brides. I took a chance and left my wedding dress with Shayma to be altered for hemming, bustling, and get detachable sleeves since I really wanted an off the shoulder long sleeves for my wedding dress, but was not able to find any during my time of dress shopping, so I was glad that I was able to share this idea with Shayma and she made my dream come to life! I loved the cap sleeves that Luv Bridal gave to me and wore for my first look. I was searching for a tailor/seamstress for my wedding dress, and I couldn't find anyone that would give me a ball park estimates based on pictures of me in my dress with the things I KNEW I needed done, such as tightening in the sleeves. Again, I would emphasize that I don't need the exact price but just a rough estimate - alterations seem to run from $100-$3000 so it was so important for me to know a rough estimate so I wasn't paying more for alterations than the dress price itself. Dantella was the first place to have clear and transparent communication!! I knew IMMEDIATELY that they are who I wanted to get my alterations done with just based on my first text exchange with the shop. I am SO glad I did. The entire process was so easy with the team at Dantella. They make you feel comfortable and really take your opinions into account when making alteration decisions. For example, I wanted to bring the shoulders in on my dress and they explained that they couldn't do what I wanted because I would look like the tin man and not be able to lift my arms lol BUT, they recommended putting a bungee cord in the sleeve to tighten it but make it stretchy. It worked beautifully!! Overall, I saw the shop about 4 months before my wedding and had numerous meetings over time to make adjustments to the dress as my body was changing up until the wedding day! They were worked with me up into the week before!! The ladies are SO nice and took incredible care of me throughout the entire process. Highly recommend coming here to get your dress alterations. Shayma did an amazing job! 1) My dress originally did not have any sleeves. I asked Shayma to make me some and she created two different sleeve designs to choose from, both of which were so beautiful which made it hard to choose 2) My dress had side openings which I did not like and so I asked Shayma to cover them and she delivered by using the same material from my dress to make it look as if it originally had lace on the sides 3) My dress was originally very long and would crunch up in my stomach area and all of that was fixed so beautifully. 4) She also made the bustle flow perfectly down the buttons of my dress which I loved! I've never left a yelp review before but my experience at Dantella's was so outstanding that I knew I had to write about it! I've recommended her to all of my friends who're getting married and they've loved her too! My friends and I live in south OC but she is so worth the drive. There are so many places that have reviews that would make me worried and I almost thought that Dantella's was too good to be true from all the good reviews. To be completely honest, I wouldn't trust my wedding dress with anyone else. She is very transparent about everything and is super knowledgeable with so much experience. She truly cares about her customers and their dresses. My dress was very simple which meant if there was any mistake, it would've easily been seen. And it couldn't have turned out more perfect! Other than what would traditionally need to be done, we removed the straps and she made these based off a bikini top I brought in that I liked the straps on! To say that I was blown away is an understatement! She also helped me with my mother's veil so I could wear it on my bachelorette (she veil was attached to a flower crown from the 80s). To say that I would recommend her would be an understatement. From all of the places I researched and talked to, there isn't another I would recommend. She was meticulous about looking at every aspect of the dress, took a blade out (which made us nervous) to see if the how the applique is tailored in the dress and told us, "Yes, we can do it!" What a relief! She did her measurements and gave us a more than fair quote. She even offered to store the dress for her (even if the wedding isn't for another year) and set up GD's follow up appointment. We now understand why GD picked this place.
