They told me my dog's heart was slightly enlarged. I asked why; they didn't know. I kept taking…read moremy dog to see them for 9 years. She had a bladder infection, so they told me to bring a urine sample. I had a devil of a time getting it, so they said they could take it from her bladder. The test results were no good because they had gone all the way through her bladder and into her bowel. Nothing else was done. She was almost 10 years old when I took her to my daughter's vet. Her heart was so enlarged that x-rays said it was cutting off her trachea and her esophagus. She could barely breathe. The vet referred us to Pullman. Long story short, a simple operation could have fixed her heart if we had caught it sooner. Meanwhile, her bladder was so infected that mats were floating in it. They gave her meds, which extended her life for about a year. She finally died of a kidney infection. All of this could have been prevented if anyone competent at that clinic had actually done anything besides shrugged their shoulders.

We have been going to Valley Vet for the last 3 years and have been extremely happy with how our…read morepets have been cared for there. The honesty and transparency for pricing and issues has always been incredible. More recently, we had to say goodbye to our dog Barley in a manner that was quick and unexpected. We made a late night call to the Vet and Dr. Hayden saw us at 9:30pm despite being there all evening with another pet. We learned then that there was a high chance Barley had an aggressive form of cancer and Dr. Hayden handled the situation with empathy while also being realistic with what we were likely going to encounter after we had her in for an ultrasound. The Vet scheduled her the following day for an ultrasound and we were informed she had a massive tumor. The conversation with Dr. Hayden was, once again, empathetic and allowed us to make a decision within Barleys best interest. When we had to say goodbye to barley, the staff was extremely kind and the process was as uncomplicated as you want it to be during such a difficult time. Valley Vet will continue to be the care we seek for all future pets because of how they truly treated us and Barley like a member of their family. In the week that followed, we received a letter from WSU college of veterinary medicine detailing how Valley Vet had made a donation in Barleys name for the Pet Memorial fund. This kind act not only made us cry (in a good way) but also showed they genuinely do care about the family's that go to their office. Thank you valley vet and Dr Hayden for all that you do!

Okay, so here's the thing. The woman who owns/operates this business is obviously very…read moregood-hearted, and she took good care of our cat the two times we hired her. However, she also told us the expensive pet store cat food we use is crap, that the litter we use is crap, that we should have a Britta filter for our cat's water, that we should feed our cat an egg yolk (we already do sometimes, but apparently we should do it more often and inject it down her throat with a syringe), that our cat is dehydrated (she's not), that our cat should be getting probiotics, and that our house smells like mildew (it doesn't). So though she took good care of our cat, we will not hire her again, as I'm pretty sure we can find someone for our cat who won't also have to tell us all the things she thinks we're doing wrong. Our cat is 19 1/2 and in fairly good health for an asthmatic cat with a hyperthyroid, so we're obviously doing something right. But if you had an overbearing mother and really miss her, this is definitely the pet sitter for you.
