Definitely yes!! My husband found this place by making small talk in line at the post office, a couple of people raved about it. We decided to go for Valentines Day dinner. We didn't make reservations, just walked. Was told a 20 minute wait, which ended up being only 10 minutes. The service was stellar and very fast! $7/appetizer is usually unheard of! We got two apps, pork egg rolls and calamari strips. Both came out fast and were very tasty! The calamari especially was seasoned well and crispy coating with side dipping sauces. The owner/manager gave us a complimentary app as well, Crab Rangoon, with real crab! EXCELLENT! The owner was very friendly and apologized for our wait (only 10 mins) and asked us where we were from. It's rare that someone above a waitress is interested in a table at all. We appreciated the extra attention. He went around to many tables. Very nice touch! We planned to just get entrees for dinner but the Bento box choices looked interesting. We've never had Bento boxes before. It's A LOT of food! After the three apps and a hard attempt to get through our Bento boxes, we did end up needing to-go boxes. Can't wait to finish them for lunch tomorrow. We will for sure be back to this restaurant! Very nice place! It was very busy when I went and the service was still great. The miso seemed a little strong tasting, although I really enjoyed the seaweed in it. The albacore nigiri was GREAT. It had garlic with it I believe. The spicy tuna and salmon hand rolls were a bit bigger than I am used to but I am not complaining. I also tried the avocado boat appetizer thing and I did not enjoy it. First time here thought I would take the family out for a late Mother's Day dinner. We ordered the vegetable tempura and soft shell crab for apps. Teriyaki beef dinner and our sushi. California role , caterpillar and shrimp 2. The sushi and apps were delicious and for a sweet treat we ordered the green tea mochi and fried Twinkie. Really this is THE Sushi spot in Olympia. Clean, simple and consistent. I've never had a bad meal here and we come here a lot. The Shrimp2 roll is very simple and very pleasing to the taste buds. The Mexican roll is a nice choice as well. Egg rolls are great here, in fact this is the only place I will order them. My only feedback for the owners is the music choices here and very odd- would rather just listen to something more traditional to match the environment. The edamame is also salted before serving (I've been to some places that don't) which is nice. If you don't want sushi and are craving cooked seafood, highly recommend their grilled mackerel. Though pricey, it is mouthwatering and beautifully brought out to you. Very few bones as well! I like to eat it with shredded radish soaked in soy sauce on the side! I got 3 rolls- all three rolls had bones three different types, salmon, yellowtail and unagi- all was pulling splinters- when I first found one I thought- it happens- but after picking a total of 7 bones out- I had to throw out the rest of the unagi roll- which seemingly had a bone each piece I was eating. I'm worried now I could have swallowed some. Price was ok. Portions are way too big- meaning you can hardly eat a piece. Other than that now I'm feeling ill. I have 25 years of experience at the Sushi House. I am writing a review because of what is happening to the quality of the food and a waitress experience I had at the S-house. I took my friend to lunch, and I ordered a Bento that included gyoza. The gyoza came first and our drinks along with it. I shared it with my friend. The waitress came back and said the gyoza was supposed to be in the Bento not served on a plate separately. She said it would be 7$ or she would have to take it away. I sure hoped they would not serve it to someone else half eaten. So rather than give us the gyoza for free because of her mistake she would rather throw it away. Wow! We just paid for it anyway. But that was the choice given to us. Pay... or it would be thrown away. I blame the waitress entirely for this not the Sushi House. Unless a manager told her to do it that way. I have been through 3 owners at least as it has changed hands through the years. Food quality was always kept the same. I am a Sushi fanatic and I considered it the best in the region. I have tried them all around the Olympia area. But no more....my Midori Roll had Salmon fillets the size of a of Nickel in the center and a tiny piece of what looked like eel. It was basically a giant rice roll. I also had a Salmon Bento on another visit and it was Salmon Jerky. It was awful. It seems prices have gone up and food quality has gone down. After 25 years I guess I am done. Now I understand that maybe it was just a fluke, and the rest of the food may be good. But...I know others that frequent the Sushi House and they have had similar issues. So long Sushi House...It was a good run. read more

Hands down the best Sushi in Olympia. Every time I'm in the area, this is on the 'must visit' list. I've done both the standard table and the traditional seating. Some advice, if you are dining with someone with mobility issues, go for the standard table. It's a little hard to get in and out of the traditional tables. Now to the best part. I haven't had a single thing here that isn't perfect. I've even eaten here with people who claim they would never eat anything raw and they are true converts. If you're dining with people who adore sushi, get the chefs special plate. More than enough and priced very reasonably. If you're less adventurous, go for the bento boxes. They give you a selection of cooked and raw and are stacked, so it's fun for both adults and the kids. Great selection of Sakes... The name of this restaurant is very misleading. I have found one of the simplest ways to assess a sushi chef is to order a basic tekka maki. I'm not about to pay double the price for the same thing just because it's 5:00 dinner time. Our server wasn't rude, but, I can't really put my finger on it. Even if the food is good, I rarely return to a place that didn't or doesn't make me feel welcome and happy to be there. We ordered the Bento Special which was $10.50 ( before 2:00pm) You can choose either beef, chicken teriyaki or Salmon. I tried the Salmon!!!! I absolutely loved it!!! Delicious! Everything else was pretty much the typical bento box special but that Salmon stole the show!!! Cooked perfectly and if that's all I order when I dine here, that would be okay with me!!! The decor is lovely, there's an area with tables by these big windows that I'd like to sit at, if I ever return. The cook says goodbye to you as you leave with a very friendly smile.....wish he'd been our server. The parking was decent. Plenty of parking even during the busy lunch hour. We have been going here for 5 years and have always loved it but our last experience was so bad we may never go back. We ordered food and drinks and after 45 minutes had not received a thing. When we finally got our server's attention she asked if she had taken our order yet so we left. The entire restaurant was packed and they were doing a lot of take out business. I chose Sushi House as my last Olympia dinner before heading off to live in MI. I ordered the bento box #4, which is pricey at $29. We picked up the order and the salad and soup were missing, plus the teriyaki chicken was cold. When I called to let them know, their remedy was to have us drive back and get the missing items or get them for free next time. When I told them neither was possible, I was told that because the bento box is a combo order, they could not credit me anything. I asked to speak with a manager and that she would be there "very soon." Im still waiting on that call. The actual sushi was good, but for $29 I expect my entire order to be correct. Also, if part of a combo is missing, it should be an easy fix to refund the portions that were excluded or not cooked correctly. I wish I hadn't chosen them as my last dinner here in Olympia.
