We came pretty late for a date night, but we didn't feel rushed at all. First- the soup was DELICIOUS and usually the soups that come out are trash but this one- I would actually order. Then we got appetizers- we got the tuna tower, the stuffed jalapeño, and gyoza. All bangers. Then- we had a minor mishap with our order so I don't feel like I can say for sure 5 stars- I accidentally received the spicy crab roll (I ordered the spicy combo- I don't like crab) and my husband got the Philadelphia roll. We visited Denton's newest sushi spot, Sushi Kai, and really enjoyed it. We ordered the orange chicken and two sushi rolls, and everything was delicious. The orange chicken had just the right amount of spice, and the fried rice was pretty good as well. The portions were huge, so much so we took quite a bit home which was nice! The sushi rolls were also large and delicious. I had the Red River roll, which has tempura shrimp, crab, avocado, and spicy tuna. It was very tasty. My husband ordered the Yumi roll, a baked roll. I tried the spicy crab on top and it was delicious. The service was very good. In fact, they gave us a few bowl of onion soup to welcome us. The soup was excellent! Our waitress was attentive and kind. While it's not quite my favorite sushi place in Denton, it's a very close second. We'll definitely be back to try more! read more

We stopped in after a full-on shopping spree and ended up having one of those "okay wait... this is actually really good" kind of lunches. Our table was already set with all the basics, plus miso soup (which felt like a bonus win right off the bat). We ordered the gyoza, Big Mouth Roll, and chicken hibachi with steamed rice and veggies--and everything hit. Like, clean plates, no notes, we were not playing around. The staff was super kind and on top of things. Our only hiccup was the gyoza didn't get put in at first, but honestly? The recovery mattered more. Our waiter caught it, apologized, and had it out fast--no awkwardness, no attitude, just handled. And the inside? Total vibe. The kind of place you actually want to sit and hang out for a bit instead of rushing out. We'll definitely be back... probably after our next "we didn't need all that but bought it anyway" shopping trip. read more

Group of 3 ate here for lunch on a Sunday. Service was 5 stars, everyone very friendly and the restaurant was clean. Unfortunately, the food was poor. We had: crab rangoon, edamame, seaweed salad, cucumber salad. Nothing memorable here. Hard to mess up cucumber salad but this was not good. Then we had the following sushi rolls: Hama, firework, volcano and spicy crab. The rolls were pretty bad. Nothing tasted fresh, not even the rice. read more

We came in on a Friday night from a dance competition, was seated immediately. I have to say this place has the most reasonably priced sushi I have encountered in a long time. They brought us a bowl of onion soup to start, and we selected the shrimp tempura roll, the salmon avocado roll and the tiger eye roll. My daughter ordered a strawberry milk tea which didn't come out until the end of the meal so we took it to go, and she said it was great! This place is low key classy, in spite of it being in a strip mall surrounded by big box chaos. The decor is lovely and obviously carefully chosen. The menu is massive, so be ready for some reading. The server was prompt and friendly. He was patient with us as we decided what to get. I ordered my usual - edamame and a roll. We all got complimentary miso. The edamame was easily 2-3x what you would normally get, and so was my roll. I got the special crab roll advertised up front. It was delicious. My partner ordered the chicken katsu and rice, and he is a big eater. He barely finished his food, there was so much. My cousin also got her usual roll and could not finish hers either. It was even bigger than mine. So moral of the story is...come hungry and enjoy the fresh offerings of this jewel of a spot! read more

Walked in here by accident, originally looking for a different sushi spot and the quality of the food was just amazing- beyond my expectations. Our server was adorable I don't know if I got her name but she was the sweetest. Absolutely recommend coming here for greatly priced sushi that's delicious and affordable. I was really excited for this place. I have been waiting for it to open, and finally decided to try it tonight. The service was good at first, but after we ordered our food, my husband and I's food came and them the waiter came back and asked if we were missing anything and our friend still hadn't gotten his. We told them that and they went to check on it and they forgot to put his order in. We got a $100 gift card at the beginning and received an extra $20 for their opening promotion, after waiting 15-20 more minutes for his order to come out after we've finished our food, they bring us another card that says if we spend $50 we get $25 and that was their sorry for the "kitchens" mistake. The food was alright nothing to call home about. We were just overall disappointed with the service and how our waiter handled their mistake. read more
