Use to be one of my favorite places after a 45 min drive This is what I got......Gave us the wrong order and then refuser to fix the issue. Even suggested that we (the other person who got the wrong order) switch plates after we had already taken a few bits. After I refused to pay. Joel contacted the owner and the solution was. 1. Take the food back (which I tried to do that in the first place) 2. Remake the food and then be charged for both plates each. Joel and Borie terrible customer service. I will never be back. I hate giving four star reviews but feel compelled. I went in for a bowl of ramen and that's it so this is not reflective of the sushi. I ordered the Tankatsu Spicy. The broth and flavors were great, actually on par with just about any other ramen I've had. I liked at the menu picture and argued if I wanted an extra egg or pork. As it turns out should have ordered a little extra of both. The pork was two tiny pieces, at most other ramen huts it would be about half a piece. I did order an extra egg, the menu picture showed two halves so thought I would get two eggs, trying to add some protein to the meal. I ended up with one egg vice two. Overall not very filling, but the flavor was amazing. If you are looking for a well made ramen with an exceptional broth then this will be your place. If you're looking to fill up I'd figure out your order to ensure that happens. read more

Sushi for lunch today...yummy! This was our first time at Hanasato and we enjoyed ourselves. We stopped in at around 4pm and as we were finishing up they were starting to get busy. The delicious food sure explains the pickup for dinner. We ordered the Snapper Mountain to start and it was our favorite. Lightly fried snapper topped with crab and avocado - very tasty! We then selected a few rolls - Diablo, Rainbow, Veggie, and Caribbean. Of the rolls, Caribbean was my favorite and Diablo was hubby's. read more

If Hanasato aims to be an authentic Japanese restaurant, it should start by taking a closer look at its menu and execution. The Nagoya-style Tebasaki wings bore little resemblance to the Tebasaki you would find in Nagoya. The tonkotsu ramen was especially disappointing. The noodles were overcooked, and the broth was barely warm, which significantly affected the overall experience. The sushi was acceptable, but nothing memorable. The service was also inconsistent. Two different servers attended our table, and while one was friendly and professional, the other came across as dismissive and arrogant, making the experience feel disjointed and confusing. Overall, I would not recommend Hanasato. Instead, I would suggest Hanabi Ramen nearby, which offers more authentic Japanese dishes, better flavor, and more reasonable prices. Unfortunately, this visit left such a poor impression that I have no interest in returning to Hanasato. read more

***service*** I couldn't tell you my servers name but he was quick, friendly, and was moving around tables and doing an overall good job so no complaints. 10/10 service. ***food*** French kiss- this is what other restaurants would call "butterfly kiss" but here it's an appetizer. It was delicious. Flavorful. The only difference is the salmon wrapped around the crab meat and avocado was thin but it had a wonderful taste! Sunshine- I was a hater of this roll. The cream cheese was SO cheesy I've never tasted it so strongly. I was not a fan of the cream cheese at all. I removed it for the last bite and it tasted a lot better. I'm still not a fan but they can't all be winners! Spicy donkatsu- hubby rated it 9/10! It was spicy and flavorful. It's perfect for this cold weather in Texas we are experiencing! Sake- scalding hot. They want to make sure you get the real experience lol. ***ambiance*** The restaurant is small but it is on and poppin! We came the night before thanksgiving and only two tables were available. There's maybe space for 10 2-4 person groups. Overall, we will be coming back! Delicious food. Called multiple times to place a pick up order and no one ever picked up the line. Swung by to place in person which was super inconvenient so why have a phone number to not pick up to be told the phone did not ring , then called the same number a bit later to speak to some one in charge for them to pick right up and be rude on the phone call. February 4, 2026. Just finished a late lunch/early supper. This is an outstanding restaurant. I was hunting for "real food" and this place serves it. Generous plateful (8 hrs since breakfast and super hungry). Well seasoned. Flavorful and NOT too salty. Very nice portion of meat. I ate the beef and vege (cabbage, carrots, etc) with glass noodles over rice. Excellent. Atmosphere pleasant. Waiter outstanding (wish I caught his names). Employees clearly enjoy their work & were very upbeat and positive. I really look forward to bringing hubby here. read more

This is my go to, neighborhood place. We go here often. Twice a month, which is often for us. The staff is always spot on and helpful with suggestions when I ask. The food and presentation are wonderful every time. I don't get many pictures. I am usually face down in it before I remember to take one. Headed over to Hanasato based on a coworkers endorsement and I'm happy to report this a nice sushi spot. Tried a few of the fancier rolls and they are packed with a variety of fresh ingredients, complimentary sauces and are super tasty!!! The roll cuts are large for a single bite but I'm guessing the thick cuts are to preserve the integrity of the roll. Difficult to eat politely (more than bite size) and are very wet with the sauces, if you prefer to use soy and moderate the taste of your sushi try a more basic roll you could add to. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Restaurant was clean and welcoming and food excellent. I'll be back to try something new. read more

We went with friends to this new sushi restaurant, in Denton. They have been open about 5 months. It is always iffy when you go to a new restaurant, especially these days, but everything was great here. They do not have their liquor license yet, but you can get beer and wine. The servers were very friendly and attentive to the proper degree. The sushi was very good. We all loved the Ahi Tower. The French Kiss appetizer was delicious. I really loved the Tuna Fever. We will definitely be back to try some of their other menu options. They also have Rice Bowls and Udon. read more

My fiancé was craving sushi and we weren't in the mood to travel far to our favorite location and I remember seeing this new location a couple days ago so we decided to check it out. We walked in and we're instantly greeted by the staff and seated in the big booth. While we checked out the menu I was able to check out the beautiful decor. The ambiance was so comfortable and they were playing some fun music in the background. My fiancé was wanting a sushi roll with salmon and one of the waiters recommended the Geisha, and we also went with the Las Vegas and the Spicy Cali roll. And I ordered a side of Miso Soup to go with it. Our food came out pretty quickly, and they brought us our two small dipping bowls and soy sauce that was in this adorable container (which can be seen in my photos). Our fav roll ended up being the Geisha, but all the rolls were delicious and filling. We are definitely excited for our next visit. read more

Just moved to Denton and was jonesing for some sushi. I honestly wasn't expecting much but this place absolutely blew my mind. I went with a friend and we started with some Asahi and order 4 appetizers. The spicy chicken Karaage, tempura jalapeños, pork belly bao buns and some gyoza. Every bit of it was incredible and we just kept looking at each other very surprised at how good the food was. The staff were incredible, constantly checking in on us and asking how everything was. After we finished the appetizers we asked what rolls they recommended and we settled on the Mountain, Fire, and Wildcat. I really couldn't believe how absolutely fresh the sushi was and the flavors coming from the different rolls. I have zero complaints, and the only thing I would be worried about is how small the restaurant is and trying to get a table during rush hour. The inside is decorated very well and it's very welcoming and quiet. They also have ramen on the menu which I will trying next. Do yourself a favor and stop by. We walked right in before 5p on a weekday. Seated immediately and I thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese music playing throughout - it made me want to watch anime. It's nicely decorated inside and you can see the large sushi bar as you walk right past it. Our server greeted us immediately and we ordered 2 Asahi beers, spicy edamame, miso soup and monkey brains as our appetizers. The Asahi tasted a little funky but we got a different Japanese beer next. The edamame wasn't spicy but most Japanese food isn't so we got some Sriracha to give it a kick. The miso was very flavorful, perfectly seasoned with lots of green onion, bits of seaweed and tofu, very good. The monkey brains are simply mushrooms, stuffed w the typical imitation crabmeat, cream cheese, coated in tempura batter and fried. I don't even like cream cheese but I like those! My hubby got a roll topped with salmon, avocado and crabmeat on the inside. The roll was pretty big in circumference! I ate one piece, he said it was good. Their sushi menu is pretty extensive. I was in the mood for something different. I wanted udon, they have a large selection of that too, but it was hot outside so I looked at either the katsu (fried) selections that come with steamed rice. I settled on chicken katsu donburi. This is a chicken cutlet on top of their sushi rice (I think) with another yummy sauce that you have to really mix well together. They offer other pieces of chicken on the appetizers so I think they hand cut it themselves. I did not care for the cartilage in the chicken cutlet and tried to eat around it. Of course, I got too full on the appetizers so I really just ate a few pieces. Next time, because I'm already plotting a next time, I'm going to get the udon, I don't care if it's a million degrees outside. I love the chewiness of udon noodles. Now, I just have to decide between the tempura udon or the deep fried tofu... What are you waiting for? Go there. Get some. Life is too short for boring food! read more

Attracted to this place by high review scores. Not sure why. Walked in and as I usually do immediately called out "KonBan Wa!" as it was 3 in the afternoon. Response was decidedly unenthusiastic and demure. First impresssion was no real sushi bar to sit at. The short and narrow shelf was more decorative than functional. But far more noticeable were the layers thick of nasty, visible, floor grime that was stickier than 3M tape! I literally couldn't believe how 2/3 or so of the walking surfaces were so filthy and had gone so long so obviously unmopped!! In any event, waitress Yekyung K was very good and spot on for service. Good Miso, green tea and pork gyoza. Ordered the Yellowtail Maki roll and Diablo Roll. Both were OK but very lacking in taste. I used up all the Wasabi to boost flavor - which helped. A second delivery of pickled ginger helped cleanse palate at end. Really can't see how it deserved more than 3 stars. Maybe an off afternoon? read more

Great spot! Tried a few various things and everything was fresh and well prepared. The only problem here was I ordered too much food. The sushi was fantastic. If you like sushi you definitely should try this place. The interior is really nice and couldn't help up but notice just how clean everything was inside. No dirty tables, clean floors and well arranged tables. As good as the food is the staff is super attentive and so polite. My drink was constantly topped off and didn't have to wait long for the meal. Our sever would keep checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. I can highly recommend this spot. This was my first time trying this place and It was alright. Flavor was pretty good but I was disappointed in how little chashu you get. Everyone in my office ordered something and all the bowls of ramen were quite light on the chashu and were missing the soft boiled egg. I think for the prices that are charged there should be more protein in the ramen. The gyoza was pretty good. Would I come back yes but I will make sure to check my order next time I come. read more
